THANK YOU! I just used your video yesterday to replace my back up camera and it went perfectly! Your video literally covers everything, and we (hubby & I) were able to replace it with ZERO issues. We knew what to expect, especially when it came to getting to those clips to get the darn thing out. I'll add that I am the least "handy" person you'll ever meet. Can't believe we did it, and THANK YOU a ton. Dealer wanted $1,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ended up, all in, paying $50 total (for the camera and the pry tools).
This repair was so easy to do because of this video! The backup camera looked just like the one in the video before the repair - the off-market replacement camera in the comments worked perfect for my 2015 Sonata. Thank You, Thank you, THANK YOU!
Thanks to this video I was able to replace my back up camera myself. The estimate I got from the mechanic was astronomical. Took me less than 10 min to replace. Great video!
This video was so helpful! I'm so proud of myself to have been able to do this repair without paying crazy costs at the dealership. Found the after market part for my 2016 Sonata online no problem and with your help was able to get the old one out and the new one in. I can see in reverse again thanks to you! Keep doing what you're doing. Your videos are great! Thanks again!
Great work Glen with all the steps of removal and installation! Even with the backup camera on the Escape, I still turn around when backing. I guess I'm from the old school too. Have a good one and don't work too hard! 😊
Hey Glen, your video was very heloful. We had the exact same problem with the back up camera for my wife's 2017 Sonata. The dealer wanted over $1800 for the parts ( before labour and tax) We ordered a replacement camera from amazon for $125 and i installed it following your video in about 40 minutes.. thanks very much!
Thank you very much! Best compliment I could give is that I watched this video and then installed the camera first time based on how clear and helpful it was. I really appreciate this as this is not my forte (no kia pun intended). Thanks for your time putting it together to help people like me and all the best from Nova Scotia!
Glad the video was helpful to you Andy. I appreciate you understanding how much filming and editing time a little video like this takes to make. Thanks for the comment. Take it Easy! -Glen (Ozz)
My backup camera is even less clear than the example you used in your video. Thank you for posting this. Now I know what to do to fix the issue at minimal expense.
Thanks very much! Sir, I was able to change rear view camera of my Hyundai 2015 sonata ECO just by watching this video. Total cost = $80. The dealership would charge at least 300. 👍👍 I
A huge thank you to you sir. You saved me a boat load of money. The repair went 1 2 3 following your instructions, it took me about 20 minutes. Thank you again.
Can't tell you without proper testing of the circuit but there is a very good chance that the symptom is due to a defective camera. Let us know how it turns out Shane.
Thanks for a great vid! Really appreciated the tip about the painter's tape as it allowed to just pry out from the outside instead of going crazy with the clips I couldn't reach.
Dropping by to say THANK YOU for this video. I have extremely limited experience with car repairs and this was exactly what a novice like myself needed! I bought the camera through your link, and got this done in 15 minutes start to finish. 100x easier than replacing the headlights on the Sonata (an actual nightmare which literally left me bruised and bloody). Thanks again, saved me a couple hundred $$$ at a mechanic!
Great Video thanks. Only thing different I would do differently is I would plug it into and insure it is working properly before clipping it in. I would hate to have to remove those clips a second time!
Great info, my back up sensor in the dash has a orange tringle when i put it in reverse and don't beep when you backup close to a object. my local dealer checked it for me said i needed a sensor that's behind the backup camera, and said it would be 545.00 to fix, i got the part number 95720-C1000-S3B i looked that up and its a bumper sensor best i can tell. I saw on the paper someone had hand written left rear sensor bad. Would 1 bad sensor do that, do you know of something behind the backup camera. Thanks
Yes just one bad sensor in the bumper will trip a light, usually it's caused by water that had gotten through the lens causing a short circuit. Typically this happens from high-pressure car washing or gasket failure if it's not just impact damage. The sensor itself isn't very expensive but removing the bumper to replace it is what's expensive.
If the camera has already been replaced with an OEM and the screen is still fixed blue (no flickering) is there anything else I have to do like reset it somehow? I checked the fuses and they're all good :(

@@ozzstars_cars Just went to dealer today to see if they'd fix this. They said since my car is now out of warranty it would cost nearly $700 to replace. I'm grateful for your video and I may try this at some point.
WOW, they don't give those cameras away, do they?!? Holy sticker shock! You'd think for that kind of money, they'd last a full century in direct sunlight every day. Wishful thinking today. I still operate old school - keep backing until you feel a jolt, or hear someone scream. 😜Great stuff man !
