Dude, you're a lifesaver. The circle-back before the last divebomb fixed the exact same issue I was having. Never put the two and two together! Thank you! Johnny can have his 7-star hotel now and I can never play this minigame again! :D
The best part about these missions are there are no time limits (thank god). So if miss a ring, you can usually make it back to the helicopter thing that raises you back up for another attwmpt
Course 3 literally took me like 2 hours no matter what I did either I dove over the last mini one before gliding to the finish, or didn’t have enough air to make it to the end
"Cloud Strife: Chocobo Whisperer" Thanks man. Even with this strat it still took me a dozen tries, but that just means I got it done at all! Woo, VICTORY!
The timing of those divebombs made all the difference, nice 🙂 Turning the voice volume down to zero reduced the irritation factor for me when doing multiple retries, before coming to this video. Had regretted not inverting the controls before I started to get used to them, interesting to hear that wouldn't have made a difference. Makes me feel a bit better!
@@SweetJohnnyCage oh wow, never mind! Only thought about it after playing for a while, so I probably would've confused myself anyways 😂 The timing on the divebombs worked for me, meaning I can carry on with the game having gotten max scores on everything so far. Can't wait to see what's next 🙈
THANK YOU MAN I found course 3 easier than course 2 EXCEPT I couldn't get enough altitude for both rings at the end. This saved me from wasting another hour on course 3 after I spent so much time on the 2nd one.
Commenting under this video so hopefully you can see it but thank you so much for all your crash bandicoot 4 videos and doing every inverted level with full commentary helping me so much on my platinum trophy journey 4 years later 😂
Hi johnny lol great strategy! I did this many times with the super maximum altitude but i though this was a mistake! Cause i was so high up i missed the markers but i guess it was just a mistake fluke i finished this the regular way but im going to try your strategy i like your turning back to the fans strategy! Better! U are awesome! Thanks! I cant beluve all this time i was doing this the hard way! Thanks johnny you are awesome!
I hate every single mini-game in Rebirth, without exception. I hope that there are virtually none in the third game. Edit: thanks to you I was able to get the perfect score and snag Yuffie’s new weapon. So thanks my dude - I’m happy to be your newest subscriber.
Mighty good thing they are optional then. Hated a fair few (Jules) as well but grew to actually like them, believe it or not, by the end. The sheer variety is astounding. Either way, hope you enjoyed the rest of the game friend, take care.
Yeah the near perfection requires on almost all of them is way to much to ask but they are fun afterwards. They just need to dial back how much they’re expecting from us as it’s kind of insane to expect a single player to be perfect at Mario kart, rhythm games, flight simulator, the games combat system, skeet shooting, rocket league, etc.
I just realized that by holding "up", the camera would also be affected and this would make it harder for me to navigate the courses (because I literally cannot see the full direction in which I am going). Being more selective about when I'm holding up helped me clear the 2nd course with literal ease.
I am able to perfectly recreate everything but there is no way to tap the last 300. You will fly way over it every time and you need that height to reach the last 500 so as it remains I still don’t see how it’s possible to get the last 300 and the last 2 500s. Did patch 2 totally screw the timing?
I haven't tried since the patch, but I know they fixed it so you can have inverted controls. I don't believe they changed anything else. I can give it another try later tonight and let you know.
I and the same issue! And kept overshooting the last 300. My trick was to descend slightly before the final dive. You can do this my briefly letting go of R2 and re engaging it. You’ll drop like 3 meters. Then begin the dive and hold up as he mentions in the video
Johnny its easy to get confused on this chocobo challange because it challenges all convenventional beliefs all through this game i was thinking well getting extreme maximum altitude is important but heck whats the use because eventually specifically towards the end you have to dive bomb and lose that altitude anyways but no like you showed this not so because the game doesnt tell you that the more altitude you have it makesvyour rise back up after dive bomb higher i guess i forgot the basic momentums of physics this was what was messing me up thanks again johnny annswer me back tell me what you think johnny
God damn thank you so much. That last course was a pain in the ass and so was the second one. Got it done after getting so frustratingly close so many times.
So, if you don't do course 3 perfectly, you have to improvise and double back to get high enough in the air? Who at Square Enix designed this course? And I wanna watch the footage of their playtesting 😂
Holding up at the end of course 3 makes me go over top and miss the last 300. Every single time. Without the fan trick it is 100% impossible to go far enough to get the second to last ring. F this.
The only thing I dislike about this game. The fact that they tie in mini games to a condition to finish a quest. Kinda forcing you to do it if you want to finish the quest. Quite a few where this is the case. I’m crap at the course 3 and it’s like ffs. Have to get the “target score” which doesn’t lower on “easy” to even rank it up as completed quest. It does grip my shit this aspect.
I felt this same pain, especially because a lot of the minigames have a higher difficulty that unlocks later in the story. It's not a sidequest requirement or a trophy requirement, but you do get the physical trophies for the hotel by finishing them, and as a completionist, my brain can't move on until I finish it.

Thank you so much for this video. Those last 2 Rings on Course 3 really messed me up for hours until your method helped me. Thank you!

This was helpful. Oddly enough, I fully completed course 3 on my second try but course 2 took me forever to get top score. Thanks.

They actually patched this last week to add inverted chocobo gliding controls. It's so much easier for me now.

This took me about a day and a half to do, and without your advice on the final course I would never have been able to complete it on my own ❤
Thank you for stressing that we need to hold up on that last 300 before the final 500’s. That was key!
THANK YOU MAN

That was a pain in the ass thanks for letting us know about the fan trick on the last one
Thanks for this was worried about coming back to this one but after your explanation it became a breeze!
Chocobos love breezes :D

Mini games should be for fun!!!! Never locked with a trophy or substantial in game item!!!!!
The most hardest boss in Final Fantasy history I nearly broke my knuckles pounding on the desk😢
I read square enix had trouble selling games, I can't imagine why?

Thank you for this guide man! Really helped! But yes, pass the first course, the rewards are not good.
The camera for this is so damn bad when both sticks are used to dive and ascend...

Thanks so much for the guide! These were not fun.
So true. See my comment above. Hate the quests where it’s a condition to do a mini game in order to complete a quest!
Thanks
I love you man❤❤❤😂
I love your vids, can you maybe try spyro reignited trilogy? 😁
Heya! Thanks for the love. I decided not to play the Spyro trilogy, since I hadn't played them as a kid.
@SweetJohnnyCage Oh alr no worries 😁👍
Do i make sense?

Whew. Past another mini game. So far to this point none require perfection but darn near. At least the piano trophy only requires A rank.

Hi
I did this perfectly without the turn-back trick. I didn't let go of R2, and missed the final one, and could never do it perfectly again 🥲
