Your asset to the tradesmen community for sharing this video with us. I recently borrowed a friends Fuel impact driver and was blown away by it performance compared to my dated DCF885 but can’t justify spending all that money to switch over so I just bought the 840, not as good as the Fuel but for the money its the best bang for the buck! $99 for impact driver, charger and 2 AH battery w/bag.
I would still much rather have the DCF845, despite the slightly disappointmenting performance. These small differences won't be noticeable in everyday use, but the modes /speed selector will make a difference. I suspect they tuned it slightly differently tuning in terms of IPM and speed to differentiate it from the cheaper models on paper, but that ended up affecting performance very slightly.
That multi speed for better accuracy in smaller screws is a must.
I got the 840. Was gna upgrade but after watching this id be downgrading
the only reason i would buy a 845 instead of the 840 is the XR logo. lol

For 99.00 the 840 is amazing it's not the fastest nor strongest but it is the fastest and strongest impact driver DeWalt has!!!
I. say 840 all day. Getting a lot for your money for being one of the strongest in its class
the 845 has more torque, which is important because it means the tool requires less effort from the user.
