The Best Of “I Know Black People” - Chappelle’s Show
#chapelleshow #davechapelle #blackpeople
Your Dad is a smart man. You should be proud.
Dude, I love when your dad is with you doing reactions. Keep on doing what you do! 👍🏻✌🏻
Huge fan of father/son reactions.
Not just in a bleeding heart 'oh that's so sweet' kinda way but the differences in experience and references that come in contact to whatever your reacting to is just awesome.
I love you guys, especially discussing economics and talking about helping the community. Having pockets of cities being economic deadzones isn't helping anyone.
Get out the cities..
Build communities w a united idea that drives them.
That's the solution.
Watching from Japan. I just moved here. Your channel lets me experience a little bit of America from time to time, so I really appreciate you doing what you do. Greetings from Japan.
Your dad is great and has some awesome quirks of knowledge.
His line about not caring about who he hangs out with as long as they don't say or do dumb shit is spot on, and his comment about spending your money in your community to better grow the community is 100% true.
Seems like a smart dude with great stories and insight, you lucky to have a dad who takes interest in the things you do and wants to be part of it.
You guys are a good team and its a Sub from me, can't wait for future commentary, keep up the good work my man.
You know that about Menthol cigarretes?
I learned recently that when tv commercials of tobacco was banned it was still allowed on Billboards and for some reason billboard advertising were very common in predominantly black neighbourhoods. So there ended up being more brand recognition for menthol cigarretes there. Which was a relatively new thing that was supposed to make smoking safer but it only really makes its toxins burn and irritate your throat less.
That shit crystalizes your lungs! It's way worse than reg tobacco.
Your dad is smart as hell and down to earth. You all are blessed.
The fact that you both laughed at the last question, you got my subscription. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
15:42 amen that WAS a really good answer
Love the father/son duo vids keep it up bro
I liked your dad's answer "cooperative economics"
Local businesses get my money first. I don't care what race folks are. I just like to help my neighbors.
I’m a older asian guy and I knew all the answers except the Good Times lyric. I never understood it from back in the day. What’s Happening was one of my favorite shows back in the day.
Man, this is beautiful. My father and I watched TCS together when it originally aired, and wore out the DVD's we bought too.
Treasure this time, brother.
Tbh this is the only time i visit your channel, when you do these reaction videos with your dad. They're so awesome and I love his reactions lol. Hope you do these more often.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 he did look like butters gorwn up! I haven't laughed that hard in a while thank you
In reference to Good Times, wasn't Janet Jackson's character called Penny? I could be wrong, I've never seen it, we didn't get it in England, but I know she used it as a nickname, and I'm pretty sure that's where she got it from..
She’s got a patio….I’m dying! Funny as F!!
Dad's actually on point with his 'rise up and overcome.' The (a) answer is economics. Easier access to jobs (particularly those with any kind of upward mobility) is key.
P
This was great! Also, the song your pops was thinking of was Work It by Missy Elliot. 👍🏻
I was lucky enough to go to the Chappelle Show. He actually does do stand up in between the skits. man by the time we left my stomach was hurting from laughing so much.
Janet Jackson was Penny on Good Times. The neighbor lady adopted her from an abusive home. Loved that show!
Your dad hitting us with the kwanza principals
Your pop was dead on with that answer! I grew up in Jersey City and there was a mix of black and white and we all shopped at different stores but a lot of my black friends would go to malls instead.
damn lmfao i was expecting a joke but your dad hit us wiht the "cooperative economics" like with a real answer, respect
New sub. Enjoyed the 3 last reactions of Dave Chapelle skits of Prince, and Rick James. I like that you are spending time with your father on these videos. It actually peeked my curiosity. I would definitely love to see the 2 of you reacting to Bernie Mac.
*Chappelle
@@jamesanderson6373 I always the other (P) thanks buddy cheers 🍻.
Janet's character was named Penny. I remember she played a child abused by her mother that was eventually adopted by family friend Willona. I remember when the father died I was so young I thought it meant the actor died in real life and I cried and cried.
At my work they have a TV in the kitchen that's on a channel that's always playing the commercial that has Jimmie Walker on it and I cringe every time I hear him say DYNOMITE! I hope he's getting a lot of money for it.
I love the Bernie Mac show! I wouldn't mind seeing reactions to the Bernie Mac show episodes and even to he's stand ups!
Money quote almost killed me ... the old boy is right ! JJ is all about the MONEY !!!
I just saw that commercial on TV too, so when he busted that out I about fell outta my chair.
@@ShortyLongstrokin youngun don't know cuz he don't watch the channels we mature folks watch.
Bruh I'm going to have to run with that "patio" joint with your blessings 🙌🤣
I believe that’s Neil Brennan one of the writers for the Chappelles Show.
Nope.
Man idk how many times i watched the chappelle show. Classic. Barber dude got the right attitude 👌
Yes. It was said in the beginning that he was a writer for Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle
Did your dad say he was 68?! Very well preserved, my friend.
Nice that he took/rescued his Dad out of the Home for a few Hours to do a vid. Afterwards, throws him back in!!!!
Lmao at pops bringing up the JJ Walker commercial. I went to Ohio to do some work on my house and long story short, I don’t have cable since I don’t live there yet but the previous owner had an antenna that picks up like 7-8 channels - only 2 of so are watchable & only one that had anything half interesting on - and I must have seen that commercial 50-75 times over the 2 weeks or however long I was there. It ran every break and it’s one of those commercial that could take up the whole commercial break. 😂
It's nice to see a older son react with he's Dad. A lot of ppl don't have Thier parents. Special moments
Yo dad is an economics genius. I love this video … keep it up.
22:35. You guys tripped me out. You said "two of them." Right as i was looking at some cat meme that said two of them on it like 4 times 🤯
James Evans was a father figure to me, he taught me a lot of my values that stick with me today.
Your dad is spot on!!!
Man, I wish I could have had a dad that was around and cool
Pops cracked a good joke... and get MONEYYYYY! LOL
I went to college with the guy you were asking your dad if he would hang out with (grown up Butters). Bryan Tucker is the funniest human being I've ever kicked it with. Additionally, he and his brother are two of the nicest people on the planet. He has been a writer for Chris Rock and others. He's now one of the head writers for SNL.
Thank you, pops! If only Paul Mooney were here to see those Jimmy Walker commerciais. Have mercy.
Your dad is speaking facts!!!
Cooperative Economics is Socialism. It’s identity thought. Free market capitalism breaks through all barriers (race, sex, religion, etc). It rewards someone who can provide a product at market value. We are currently living in a dystopian conglomerate of Fascism and Socialism, mixed in with Capitalist excess and crony corruption.
Your dad is great. Had me laughing through the whole video.
i wish i had any connection to my father like that, feel blessed! :-)
Hangin in a chow line always eluded me as a kid. Lol
The legend Keith Murray was the person who was consistently using the word even b4 his song with LL cool J
Great vid! You're dad is the man. Co-operative economics for the win
Lmao that jj commercial ish is hilarious cuz that come on like 12 times a day and I Crack up each I hear it 🤣 😂 😅
The white guy with the sweater is Neal Brennan. He wrote the script for Half Baked, was the co-creator of Chappelle's Show, and interestingly enough was the person that got the Roots on to Fallon.
Not him.
You and your dad is awesome man!
Pops have knowledge! Buy and not steal!....love yours channel!
Have great customer care and services that you provide!
the good times lyrics... i sang it so much as a kid i remember them from heart, but that line always confused me because of the season 1 dvd box set one of my friend had....
apparently the actual lyrics were recently corrected by the writers to actually be "hangin in and jivin.." which is what i sang as a kid.... i guess i was right all along, suck it Jerome with all yo damn toys... I don't even remember having toys.
so the complete lyrics are
Good Times.
Any time you meet a payment.
Good Times.
Any time you need a friend.
Good Times.
Any time you're out from under.
Not getting hassled, not getting hustled.
Keepin' your head above water,
Making a wave when you can.
Temporary lay offs.
Good Times.
Easy credit rip offs.
Good Times.
Scratchin' and survivin'.
Good Times.
Hangin' in and jivin'
Good Times.
Ain't we lucky we got 'em
Good Times.
Your reactions with your Dad are great. Trying to find more opportunities in somewhat "crazy" Utah to affect change and further equality.
More of you an your daddy Quizzy. Almost at 22k lessgo
As a non-american this was a little confusing but it was great, very good content!
Cooperative economics... Dad knows for sure
"Badonkadonk": Didn't that originally come out of Australia ?! I think I recall it being used in the first Crocodile Dundee Movie.
It was missy Elliot who said badonk adonk donk. I fw this reaction tho your pops is a OG.
6:23 i too also do it lol i low key love that commercial 😂
Fun Fact: The writer who appeared in the game show is one of the writers for the Black Jeopardy sketches on SNL.
For that undecipherable line in the Good Times theme, I like to sing, "Angelina Jolie!"
You need to react with your dad to Sanford and son one of my all time favorites
Your dad is amazing
And so are you, just so you know lol
I just starting the video and I gotta say. This is wholesome. 😁
3:25 I think it was Missy Elliot who made that song. Worth It.
Your dad did that commercial impression fkn perfect
Dawnell Williams if I'm not mistaken for ashey Larry and this was awesome thanks for the great work
I’ve been thinking that for the longest, black business owners have some form of customer service if they want the dollars and black customers have to start respecting the businesses in the community and stop trying to “get a hook up” and support the businesses when they except the business owners to support the community that buys from them.
Haha. That " heey " reminded me of "fat abbot" lol
Dave Chappelle always gets me laugh hard
“As long as they don’t say stupid shit”
😂😂😂
So like: chicken head or badonkadonk, right?
I watched good times every day after getting home from school. Loved that show, especially since my dad wouldn’t let me watch The Jefferson’s.
@15:30 Man, I try to do that whenever possible... but sometimes those stores don't make it easy for me to support.
Black Bush, probably the best Chappelle skit in my opinion.
Your dad had it. The dude in the blue shirt was a writer on Dave's show.
Dad's a smart guy. From a different time.
Neil is one of the lead writers of Chappelle's Show. Damn straight he knows black people.
The Good Times lyric is "Hangin' in a Chaw Line..."
The velocity of money is a powerful tool.
Employee gets paid $100 for a day of work. Buys groceries for dinner in the same neighborhood for $30. Fills up the car for $50, and buys toiletries for another $20.
That's $100 just created the power of $200 eothonnthe economy. Then, the people who received to money for the items will spend it again, turning it into $300 through the velocity of money. So on and so forth.
Leveraged correctly, that $100 can generate $10,000 worth of economic buildup, or more.
Just like bill burr he was also writer for the Dave chapelle show
*Chappelle
the blue shirt white guy is a writer for the Chappelle Show. He probably wrote that skit LOL
Dave Chappelle is to comedy what Patrick Mahomes is to football, sorry I'm from Kansas City Missouri. Tech 9❤
Janet's name was Penny and the neighbor was Wilona
You guys are great
Love your video quizzy keep it real
Pops dropping knowledge
The guy in the purple shirt is Neal Brennan , Dave's friend and head writer of the show.
That was missy Elliott pops but we’ll let it slide lol
34k views!! Awesome bro
Hangin and jivin... good times
that white dude @ 11:38 was one of the writers on chappelles show
I grew up on the Bernie Mac show, I'd watch that episode for sure.
What's weird is years after this aired Louis CK played an African American studies professor on SNL black jeopardy sketch and he looked a lot like the AA studies guy in this
Damn, yall cool as hell, lemme sub ta this!
