Shorts still work really great for me on my second channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I also use a little bit of fame- ster, but that's a necessity nowadays). I just give all my videos small initial boost, and that caused them to spread literally everywhere, bringing more and more organic views day after day.

apparently it was demonetized due to reused content, its monetization was something ephemeral that eventually youtube sanctions. And that does not say it to continue attracting people and continue monetizing on this channel

Hey, so with shorts the copyright is different to long form videos - on shorts you can use ANY copyrighted song and your short will be considered as monetizable! I see how many people are confused about this because with long form videos you need to be very careful with using any copyrighted tracks because your entire video will be copyright claimed and you won't receive revenue.
I must disagree with you, since I've already been twice rejected from YT monetization for reused content, even though I edit all of my videos. 🙁 But for me it's actually around 4 hours a video. This can happen only with repurposed content, not with original...
Are you uploading your shorts at the active time to your viewers? I would recomend to post at 9am, 3pm or 8pm (I do 3pm) And with that I've successfully gotten 10k+ views on my first short on 5 channels. Otherwise, you may have a very "competetive" niche.

It's pretty ambigious with no real "set in stone" way to make sure u get monetized. It's kind of just hit or miss in my opinion. I see a some channels monetized and some that aren't and they all seem to be doing varying degrees of the same thing. Just a few comments below this there is a comment from someone with 95k subs that are basically just recapping tiktok videos and his channel is monetize lol.

That’s because most short creators don’t know how to properly rank long form contents. With shorts it’s so much easier to get views cause you’re not putting into consideration important things like Thumbnail, SEO and the likes that is needed for long term content in other to get views. Most short creators that I’ve seen that upload long form content and get low views have done a bad job at optimizing that video. Also put in mind that long form content audience is different from short audience. Majority of those subscribers from your shorts don’t love watching long form contents. In conclusion, forget the subs you have when you’re trying to create long form content and look at it as you’re just starting out on YT. If you did 100 views on your first long form video, trust me it’s good. But we can always do better, good luck!

This has happened to all of my short channels (BACKBOARD and NUTMEG). In-fact if you go to a past video (my second oldest video with the white background - I speak about it and show my analytics when I experienced this). While it is so discouraging, you just have to keep uploading. I do plan on explaining this in a future video because it is a large challenge when it comes to UA-cam shorts.

Hey, So with shorts, I do not buy a license or anything like that. With music, you can use ANY song in your short as UA-cam shorts, and you can monetize it...... copyright rules are much different to shorts; they are much more lenient to be able to compete with platforms like TikTok.

@@Anwtoons This is very common problem. I experienced it. I created more channels and shifted my job on those when that happens. Then after 5 to 7 days, i go back and see if the situation is over.

Hey, I cant speak for other short channels.....For my nutmeg channel, I did try automating it and YPP didn't like it at all. Just like everyone else I am still learning and learnt some key things while doing this. I will explain this in detail in my next video.

@@Anwtoons This is very common problem. I experienced it. I created more channels and shifted my job on those when that happens. Then after 5 to 7 days, i go back and see if the situation is over.

Hi Craig, thanks your dvice and suggestions really help, I just had one genuine thing to ask. Like in your channel NUTMEG, I can see this "key":"is_monetization_enabled","value":"false", and thtas the case with most of the SHORTS channel, so I wanted to know if your channel NUTMEG is monetized or not, because the value above is false for most of the SHORTS channel, although these are all old and established one.
Hey, I cant speak for other short channels.....For my nutmeg channel, I did try automating it and YPP didn't like it at all. Just like everyone else I am still learning and learnt some key things while doing this. I will explain this in detail in my next video.

Could you also explain why do new shorts start getting 0 views all of a sudden after couple of successful shorts? And could you explain how do you re-upload shorts? Do you "delete them forever" or private them, upload them the another day and then delete the old one (the private one)?
