Awesome video. I am small UA-camr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours)

Me too bruh I have thesame issue. I went from getting 10k-5M last month to barely getting 400 views, despite the fact that my retention rate is still well over 100% for all my videos, I just don't understand the issue
Jack i noticed something new, an old short of mine which is more than half a year old has gotten over 150,000 clicks out of nowhere. the clicks are still growing and i'm extremely surprised because the video before it stopped at about 6,000 clicks. This is something whats new in the algorithm, it gives old short content a chance to go viral. all it takes is time.
By the way, adding an English script can significantly increase RPM. By speaking English in your videos you attract an American audience which brings it more ad revenue. My current RPM is around $0.12
Why does this new update make me think this happened because yt is tired of tate podcasts being posted to yt but in reality its very hard to make those original because main idea of those shorts is to get out a message. So it almost feels as they wanna get rid of them. Either way great showcase of new shorts creation. Definitelly gonna help :)

Hey man I just wanted to say thank you for sharing these videos. You have pushed me to make this channel and start posting shorts. Ive spent some time researching and also learning how to edit videos on an advance level.. and after like 2 weeks I finally posted my first short. Now all I have to do is stay consistent. Can't wait to see where this channel will be in 3-4 months.
People learn the hard way. they think slapping text on or adding a few edits is fair use. Original creators still have the power of content id to shut down copycats. You can request a review and explain but you will be doing this continuously and it becomes a nightmare. Find something and create your own content, those nightmares disappear.

Oh THIS explains a lot. I have some great shorts that blew up and some that didn’t, recently the ones that blew up stopped getting new views and some “bad” ones started growing

This guy inspired me to start my channel! I started mine 3 weeks ago and here i am in the comment section for you peeps to check it out. This process takes time! I also had view spikes going up and down during this time. Many of my shorts got literally 0 views for a week straight. But some of my shorts performed pretty well also. My Episode 30 literally got -- average percentage viewed of 96% with 1.5k views -- and I was really amazed by that. Now again from 2 days, I am getting no views. But now , I am not worried because I know a big spike of views is again gonna hit me in no time. As long as all of you are consistent and trying new stuff, you'll succeed! I would try UA-cam search around and find a style of content within your niche that is creating content that you think is value editing like I explained in the video.... if you find one try to change it so you create unique shorts. I wouldn't appeal the decision until you can get another few viral shorts to get back to 5 mill views or 10 mill. It will be easier because you do have viral shorts that you can use for returning viewers which helps. Then once there delete your old shorts so they approve your channel.

Recently UA-cam shorts got absolutly glitched Even as a viewer I constantly get the same video, I restart my phone, log out and log back in, pc and phone is same thing As Creator I was on streak of 11 videos in a row hitting over 1k views even some at 2-7k but recently got 2 in a row getting 60 and 90 views and I post couple times a month so it's a big deal, the same videos are doing well on my other socials
Well done on the experiments and sharing that with us. I was wondering why the 0 views because I start 4 different channels and 2 got 27K +/- (Individually) views in 7 days the other 2 keep getting zero with each video posted, and I am consistently posting same time everyday. Same kind of edits as well which I don't get. If you could let me know if my editing on this channel would count as value added editing, though there is no voice over the editing still takes a long time and it would suck if I grind it out and youtube deems it as no value editing. Same style/kind off editing on the other 3 channels.

That's difficult to hear after you put in all the work...... dont give up you have had good traction on your channel so far and that is the hardest part. Your short titled " Suarez vs Mbappe" has done a decent view and its one of your most recent shorts. if you watch the video i explain how that content is monetizable... so if i was you i wouldn't submit my appeal for them to make another decision, i would continue to make content using that same style . then once you have built up to around 10 million views delete all the other shorts and then you'll be monetized (delete them as late as possible so you can get returning viewers). Let me know how you go, its still alot of work but honestly you have already done the hardest part.

That's painful to hear! I hope you can take the advice in the video and try apply it to your shorts! The neymar vs messi short i explained in the video is something that i recommend you do to get back on track! It worked for me and its still a relatively untapped niche.
I confirm that UA-cam shorts does not work very well. I started a channel in 2024 and my , "shorts" videos are not getting new views after a week. UA-cam has stopped supporting new creators. For example, the same videos on TikTok are doing views of about 1000 each after an hour of sharing.

I followed your methods and be able to monetize in 2 months. and now i noticed the same thing happening to me and some similar channels. each of my videos only get couple thousands views while they could get tens of thousands before. I am making podcast clips with edits and im hoping to see how this can be changed.
Jack, what about my channel? I've only just started but I want to ask if these type of content is monetizable. I am also going to work on my editing and storytelling for better engagement. Do you think i can get high consistent views just like channels "Dylan Anderson" and "Brad Nolan". These are the only two high view channels I see in animal/funny shorts niche and the rest are mostly less views like 4-10k views. with podcasts and motivation niches, I don't have too much knowledge and I don't to give you incorrect advice specifically related to content. Chances are if they rejected you its not value add editing refer to my video if you want to learn more about this... But here's what i would do: I'd try find a monetized channel in your niche and see if you can pivot your content to something similar. With your appeal video, I would not submit one just yet. Create content using similar techniques to the monetized content in your niche and you can use the shorts you have already created to leverage the existing returning viewers. Once you reach the partner program using new content, delete your old content that wasn't monetizable and reapply. If you think that process will take longer than 90 days then you may as well try the appeal again (because you wont be able to reapply for 90 days after your appeal). Let me know how you go.

You're rejected, and will stay rejected because your content is in no way "transformative." Editing and re-uploading other people's content is not monetizeable. Rogan clips are a rare exception but only with very heavy editing and visual storytelling added to the audio.
@champagnedrake what? Did we watch the same video? Uploading a clip and using auto captions on it will NEVER be monetized. "TRANSFORMATIVE!" That means, if someone went looking for the clip you used, they would be disappointed to find yours instead. You need to change and add something to it that makes the entertainment part of it from you. Watch Dylan Anderson. He is a prime example of fair use transformative content.

@champagnedrake yes. Or change the content enough that it's unrecognizable. UA-cam abides by Fair Use, they don't decide what it is. Also, writing about how fair use your content is in your bio also doesn't help.

I’m running a channel just for my hobby, I do not monetize my channel but what I’ve noticed is that they (again) made some fixes on the UA-cam store and some features in short remixes. It could be what makes shorts not work well with the previous algorithm. Good luck anyway:)

The truth is before this shorts the most viewed shorts got 4K views and after it got 6.1K in about 4 days, but after a few days it stopped to get views and it's overal likes of the shorts lost secretly. If your shorts is not properly vertical, like if it has any horizontal clips with black screen at bottom and top of the video... It wont perform well! Maybe add white screen or any other color in that part if necessary!

Im glad they added the value add edit requirement. Most channels were just copy pasting previously with just some music edit which is lazy and non creative

I have started a shorts channel for puzzles and riddles and put much effort in the videos. My first video got around 10 views the first 16 hours but then took off to 1,5k views within 2 hours. Now my second video is uploaded for almost 16 hours and still only 2 views. But i think it is important that you keep beeing patient and consistent and then the views will come on its own

They didn't even give a reason for it xX I'm struggling to get any traction with youtube shorts even though they are all original. They get 0 views it seems they are not shown to anybody. I might take what you're explaining here in this video and just try to create some shorts for fun. I might be able to do that around topics that are relevant for the audience i want to address.

People learn the hard way. they think slapping text on or adding a few edits is fair use. Original creators still have the power of content id to shut down copycats. You can request a review and explain but you will be doing this continuously and it becomes a nightmare. Find something and create your own content, those nightmares disappear.

This guy inspired me to start my channel! I started mine 3 weeks ago and here i am in the comment section for you peeps to check it out. This process takes time!
I also had view spikes going up and down during this time. Many of my shorts got literally 0 views for a week straight. But some of my shorts performed pretty well also. My Episode 30 literally got -- average percentage viewed of 96% with 1.5k views -- and I was really amazed by that.
Now again from 2 days, I am getting no views. But now , I am not worried because I know a big spike of views is again gonna hit me in no time.

This is why the way to go on UA-cam is to build a personality imo, otherwise you fall off quickly

I would try UA-cam search around and find a style of content within your niche that is creating content that you think is value editing like I explained in the video.... if you find one try to change it so you create unique shorts. I wouldn't appeal the decision until you can get another few viral shorts to get back to 5 mill views or 10 mill. It will be easier because you do have viral shorts that you can use for returning viewers which helps. Then once there delete your old shorts so they approve your channel.

Recently UA-cam shorts got absolutly glitched
Even as a viewer I constantly get the same video, I restart my phone, log out and log back in, pc and phone is same thing
As Creator I was on streak of 11 videos in a row hitting over 1k views even some at 2-7k but recently got 2 in a row getting 60 and 90 views and I post couple times a month so it's a big deal, the same videos are doing well on my other socials

I was wondering why the 0 views because I start 4 different channels and 2 got 27K +/- (Individually) views in 7 days the other 2 keep getting zero with each video posted, and I am consistently posting same time everyday. Same kind of edits as well which I don't get.
If you could let me know if my editing on this channel would count as value added editing, though there is no voice over the editing still takes a long time and it would suck if I grind it out and youtube deems it as no value editing. Same style/kind off editing on the other 3 channels.

That's difficult to hear after you put in all the work...... dont give up you have had good traction on your channel so far and that is the hardest part. Your short titled " Suarez vs Mbappe" has done a decent view and its one of your most recent shorts. if you watch the video i explain how that content is monetizable... so if i was you i wouldn't submit my appeal for them to make another decision, i would continue to make content using that same style . then once you have built up to around 10 million views delete all the other shorts and then you'll be monetized (delete them as late as possible so you can get returning viewers). Let me know how you go, its still alot of work but honestly you have already done the hardest part.

Dunno what happend. I had steady flow of views in shorts and made first small viral video with over 2.1M views and then all the sudden views dropped 20-200 per shorts video :D Trying to recover slowly. Doing them mostly for fun but still kinda sucks.

I confirm that UA-cam shorts does not work very well. I started a channel in 2024 and my , "shorts" videos are not getting new views after a week. UA-cam has stopped supporting new creators. For example, the same videos on TikTok are doing views of about 1000 each after an hour of sharing.

Hi Jack, really good content that you delivered. I followed your methods and be able to monetize in 2 months. and now i noticed the same thing happening to me and some similar channels. each of my videos only get couple thousands views while they could get tens of thousands before. I am making podcast clips with edits and im hoping to see how this can be changed.
I literally don't understand though, how is UA-cam deciding my content isn't good? I literally have 0 views on my videos so I got no stats to see.
Jack, what about my channel? I've only just started but I want to ask if these type of content is monetizable. I am also going to work on my editing and storytelling for better engagement. Do you think i can get high consistent views just like channels "Dylan Anderson" and "Brad Nolan". These are the only two high view channels I see in animal/funny shorts niche and the rest are mostly less views like 4-10k views.
Also should I change my channel location or keep it original, what about using a fake name and AI generated face for branding as I've seen that "irl person" channel get more views as they also give you indie vibes.

with podcasts and motivation niches, I don't have too much knowledge and I don't to give you incorrect advice specifically related to content. Chances are if they rejected you its not value add editing refer to my video if you want to learn more about this... But here's what i would do: I'd try find a monetized channel in your niche and see if you can pivot your content to something similar. With your appeal video, I would not submit one just yet. Create content using similar techniques to the monetized content in your niche and you can use the shorts you have already created to leverage the existing returning viewers. Once you reach the partner program using new content, delete your old content that wasn't monetizable and reapply. If you think that process will take longer than 90 days then you may as well try the appeal again (because you wont be able to reapply for 90 days after your appeal). Let me know how you go.

You're rejected, and will stay rejected because your content is in no way "transformative." Editing and re-uploading other people's content is not monetizeable. Rogan clips are a rare exception but only with very heavy editing and visual storytelling added to the audio.

That means, if someone went looking for the clip you used, they would be disappointed to find yours instead. You need to change and add something to it that makes the entertainment part of it from you. Watch Dylan Anderson. He is a prime example of fair use transformative content.

@champagnedrake yes. Or change the content enough that it's unrecognizable. UA-cam abides by Fair Use, they don't decide what it is. Also, writing about how fair use your content is in your bio also doesn't help.

I’m running a channel just for my hobby, I do not monetize my channel but what I’ve noticed is that they (again) made some fixes on the UA-cam store and some features in short remixes. It could be what makes shorts not work well with the previous algorithm. Good luck anyway:)

Hi! Thanks for your instructions! I have question for you! When I upload my Shorts it gets literally got 6.1K views (uploaded a month ago). The truth is before this shorts the most viewed shorts got 4K views and after it got 6.1K in about 4 days, but after a few days it stopped to get views and it's overal likes of the shorts lost secretly. I don't know how this happened. And about 4 days ago I uploaded a new shorts and this got 8.7K views in 3 days. As you know, it stopped to get views. Please help me to solve this problem!
If your shorts is not properly vertical, like if it has any horizontal clips with black screen at bottom and top of the video... It wont perform well!
Maybe add white screen or any other color in that part if necessary!

Im glad they added the value add edit requirement. Most channels were just copy pasting previously with just some music edit which is lazy and non creative

You should be able to monetize these, i assume you will get stories from online and put an ai voice over on the shorts? I have seen quite alot of channels doing this so you should probably be more concerned about how competitive its going to be instead of monetization...

I have started a shorts channel for puzzles and riddles and put much effort in the videos. My first video got around 10 views the first 16 hours but then took off to 1,5k views within 2 hours. Now my second video is uploaded for almost 16 hours and still only 2 views. But i think it is important that you keep beeing patient and consistent and then the views will come on its own
