I am surprised how people have seen him pull off some of the greatest cannon shots , developing shots , snookers and snooker escapes through these awesome videos and are still not ready to admit his awesomeness.
Selby truly is a legend of the game now. I've been saying this for years that he would go on to achieve the way he has. Scores heavey when he can but has you tied up in knots when he needs to win a frame that goes messy. They say its snooker for the purists. Who isn't a purist who tunes in? Snooker isn't all about centuries in every frame! I love watching his all round game.
I'm not a Selby fan, but I acknowledge that he's a brilliant snooker player, and if I ever needed anyone to make a clearance from 60+ behind for my life, I would choose Selby everytime.
Those clearances are 100x better than some centuries. All the top players can pot balls and make centuries when it's clear cut. But when you are down by 60-70 and there are awkward reds on cushions etc. To clear up from there and win?! Not everybody can do that. God mode, indeed! Mark Selby is one of the best ever

I can understand people who worship Ronnie or Stephen Hendry but for me players such as Mark Selby or Judd are adding another dimension to snooker ( saying that from France, where snooker tables are really rare).
Mark Selby may not be the easiest on the eye to watch. But the most intelligent snooker player of all-time. His safety play is absolutely remarkable. If I played against him I would be physically & mentally drained afterwards. & probably feel like I have been in the toughest battle ever.
Selby has always loved giving it the big fist in middle of matches and then goes on to make what can be a fantastic game look like the most boring sport ever watched.Yes he's won a few tournaments but at what price?
