I legitimately think it was Littlefinger. Ser Mandon was a knight from the Vale, brought to court by Lord Jon Arryn and Littlefinger. He could have been manipulated into believing Tyrion was responsible for Lord Arryn's death, or he was Littlefinger's latest catspaw to sow chaos among the Lannisters (even if it was with their least-favored member).
GRRM has a thing with characters like that. A vicious beast but an 8 year old kid with complexes from his mom. An idiot, but that understood that kings landing needed its own standing army and deal with deanarys asap. A brutal moron, but that would have dealt with the faith militants appropriatly.

With tommen on the throne instead of the impulsive joffery he likely would have had a couple years to plan. He had no idea Tyrion would somehow avoid punishment and kill his father. This threw the realm into more chaos since Cersei did stupid ideas like default on the nations debt. Littlefinger likely would be able to be the best earner for the iron bank which would have drawn attention to himself which he really didn’t want to do.

If she listened to her little brother, they would have been more dangerous than their father. Tyrion was wise and Cersei was ruthless. They balance each other well. But she hated him because of her mother's death and sadly she never let it go. But he was one of the few that could tell her the truth and even though she hated him, she knew he was right.

It is interesting that in the show, Cersi never actually wanted Tyrion dead, until she believed he had killed one of her children. If they had had therapy back then for her to process the death of her mother, Tyrion and Cersi might have been close 😂 In the show, Tyrion is pretty intuitive about his sister and her feelings and treats her pretty sympathetically despite her insults amd actions.
This is one of the few if not only conversation that these two have that they are seeming to work together and it's not all stabs at one another which probably came before or after this conversation and is usually what all thier conversations consist of in this series. Idk how it is in the books 😅

She was given a prophecy that a younger, more beautiful queen will take everything from her. She was also given one that "The little brother" (though it may be Sister too) will kill her. She's been paranoid of both of these all her life, especially since she thinks that Tyrion is the brother in the prophecy.
I find it so funny that if Tywin didn't fuck up his kids, all three of them united together as siblings would have been an unstoppable force that would have claimed the iron throne and started a dynasty lasting thousands of years, which is exactly what Tywin wanted.

I hated what become of Cersei after Joffrey's death. Leading up to season 5 she was obviously evil, but she played the game and her only weak point was her children and to a lesser extent Jaime. Then you get to mid season 5 and she's almost stopped trying to hide her evil deeds and is just blatantly terrible to everyone

Well you see, that is what at her core makes her so despicable. She genuinely doesn't think of the bigger picture. She is so ridiculously selfish. She doesn't think ahead. Tywin literally tells her "you think I don't like you because you are a girl, but it's because you aren't as smart as you think you are"
She was given a prophecy that a younger, more beautiful queen will take everything from her. She was also given one that "The little brother" (though it may be Sister too) will kill her. She's been paranoid of both of these all her life, especially since she thinks that Tyrion is the brother in the prophecy.

I find it so funny that if Tywin didn't fuck up his kids, all three of them united together as siblings would have been an unstoppable force that would have claimed the iron throne and started a dynasty lasting thousands of years, which is exactly what Tywin wanted.

I don’t understand Cersei’s hate for the Tyrell’s here. Joffrey will need to father children to continue the line, as king it will need to be of noble blood.. it was fine when it was a Stark but not a Tyrell? He’s the He… his direct paternal line is literally his own. The family name stays his.. so unless Cersei planned to wed him off to a Lannister for some cousin incest and never mentioned it.. this makes no sense.
I hated what become of Cersei after Joffrey's death. Leading up to season 5 she was obviously evil, but she played the game and her only weak point was her children and to a lesser extent Jaime. Then you get to mid season 5 and she's almost stopped trying to hide her evil deeds and is just blatantly terrible to everyone
