george ibrahim they said the same about the M3/4 and look what happened there... after the X7 and Concept 4 everyone was worrying about the M3/4, Domagoj Dukec even said after the backlash the Concept 4 received, that the grille wouldn’t make its way to the production cars and it was just a test on the concept, look what happened in the end though... don’t trust a word that comes out of BMW’s mouths, that new grille is going to be the new face of the brand and the only way it will go is if they lose sales because of it.
george ibrahim also that article was wrote in April so lots of things have changed with BMW since then and they even state in the first few lines ‘We are not sure if this is a 2 series coupe’
oh kay, I can't with BMW. They're killing the only model in the line up I actually care about.
I wish the CS was a bit lighter, like they could have stripped it out a bit more and made it cheaper and left the rest as ads, this is slightly disappointing to me a CS is supposed to be light weight focused but other than that. It's good I suppose.

@@zakrylee9918 At 75K no. Even after depreciation that's still +55K at best and a tad over what I'd consider reasonable for something like this. At best I could lease I suppose but even leasing at this point would probably be unjustifiable for me. We'll have to see.

Farai Nyika Next 2 Series Coupe will still be RWD, the 2 Series Grand Coupe is just a 1 Series “Sportback” if you talk Audi. At least, that’s what I’ve heard. The M2 sells so well, BMW should look to continue that formula, but do expect X-Drive like the new M3 and M4.
The new freaking BMW M2 CS is expensive as hell.
Filipolis I tell you, judging from what I see and hear online and in the real world, if the next 2 series coupe is FWD, BMW sales charts will be very sad. Normally, I don’t care about the FWD vs RWD argument, but I can’t help but care now because the M2 is one of my favourites...
Too expensive for the money... at that price I’d be getting a second hand 911 Carrera S, Aston Martin V8 or Nissan GTR.

Rory, what you bring to content, regardless of what it is, is always top quality. AutoTrader are truly blessed.
It’s not progressive to drift at all, once you put on opposite lock and then give bit throttle, the active rear diff kicks in and then the diff tries to pull the car straight, driver always have to make steering correction to compensate the rear diff, you can see at 7:05, not natural, not linear, but useful on the track for a good lap time, it helps you to pull the car straight earlier after the apex

Always adored the M2 since it’s launch - the CS is going to be yet another unicorn bmw car that will probably gain value . Just a shame it’s out of reach for the most of us .
This will be the last good, sporty 2 series.

Ceramics are hated by people going on track alot because of the cost off replacing them
Ignoring the crass comments already made about the steering wheel, those of us with rheumatoid arthritis who also still enjoy slinging a car around appreciate the larger diameter of the wheel grip.It’s much easier to hold, therefore making the car easier to manage.

No on the price, car companies taking the piss. With Audi asking for over 100k on some of their RS models is just nuts. Buyer’s are to blame too, as they mad enough to pay that amount. In short, until car companies start asking fair prices for their products, don’t buy them.

Is not a drivers car, steering is electric and the engine is turbo charged so doesnt require driving. Is a daily really rather than a special sports car.

Raw materials all cost the same, doesn't matter what shape they are moulded into. The price is bassed on the company's ability to get inside your head and make you feel like you need one

I drove a manual M2 comp and I really didn't like it. Gearbox felt like it was made out of plastic, engine had zero character. I was really disappointed that it basically felt like a hot hatch for $50k (used).
what are the model of the tyres ? Michelin PSS or PS Cup 2 Connect ? Really impressive under the rain !
Rory good drive to show the control around corners, as you say spending that kind of money is a big decision. Then again I don’t have that sort of money in my 🐷 bank 😂
I think it’s worth the money. Not only imo is it the best looking new car it also is going to be rare as it’s a cs it’s liveable as it does have 4 seats and it comes in a manual to keep the drivers car sense alive. But I’d definitely be pairing the M specific blue with the gold rims
Think you need to be a bit more critical Rory, you are so positive about every car you drive. My own experience with the M2 is that it is a phenomenal sports car but demanding and fidgety as a daily driver and for most, an M3/M4 comp is going to be just a way more versatile machine for fun driving. Remember you have to get to and from the good road too.
An M5 is more versatile than an M4, but that’s not the M4’s fault.
great to see a presentation in the rain...and some pretty heroic driving :) - as to what it is worth.....about half that - obviously - EVs will offer these dynamics, minus the fuel and maintenance overheads within 2 ys...at half the price
The M2 is a gorgeous car. I like the Porsche Cayman, but I would have no regrets getting a M2CS.
Alcantara steering wheel is very nice when it's new but after a year or so, it's just really unpleasant to look at & to touch as they never thought about how alcantara will looks & feel after few months and it's a material that ruins very quickly. I know this from my current Audi RS3 2018 and it should be only leather. Alcantara is only great on seats but never on a steering wheel.

Rory is a good chap but misinformed on the transmission. Rowing six speeds in the city is madness. My M2 has the m/DCT and it's heaven. I grew up with manuals and I don't want to bother with that anymore.

The current M2 is perfection.... If the new M2 will look anything like the new M3/M4, I don't think I see myself buying a BMW in the next few years. Gotta move to Porsche. I have an M235i now and it's great. What is happening to BMW???
