This car has grown on me pretty quick, I did not like the grill when I first saw it but the more I look at it the more I like, the humps on the bonnet going into the bumper and the grill look pretty aggressive, I actually do rather like it now.
I'm surprised at how nice the car looks in motion. The design actually works. Generally, the car is better than the old one in every way. If it's the last non-electric, it goes out with the biggest of bangs.

This is one review I've been waiting for ever since I got hooked on Autotrader. Let me first say again Rory you're on a league of your own when it comes to reviewing cars. With regards to this car, whether one thinks it's ugly or beautiful we can all agree that it looks striking & compelling. I personally love what BMW has done. Lately manufacturers' top performance cars look like normal versions with just added body kit/extras. This car looks different. I love it. Also, I've always been a fan of a 2 door M3 (or M4 lately) & have never really liked a 4 door version BUT this time around I love the M3 more than the M4. Lastly I also agree with Rory that Beemer & Benz have pulled out their A game when it comes to interiors. Audi used to make the best looking interiors but it's been unseated by BMW & Mercs. I love this car. Just 2 wishes, I wish it didn't share that grille with the ordinary 4 series & I also wish it did not have to have a front number-plate. Did I mention i love this car?
I actually kinda like the grill now after starting to get used to it might just take time to adjust to for some people but if the 'hate' continues BMW might consider some slight changes that may bring back an audience.

The design wasn’t really a problem for me but the option to get the m3c without manual or dct. Anyway you look at it the zf8 was a a cost cutting measure, dct/manual has that extra 5%. Rory also summed it up best, the comp versions are basically baby m5 boats.
It looks pretty good overall! I like the grille...the hips make it a better looker than the M4..and those seats 😍Still doesn't sound great to me though.

This car's styling with the mirrored lettering on the frontend was so offensive that it made it a topic for the German parliament, so as a descendant of this car the new M3 is definitely perfect as it is equally controversial. I love it.

I actually like the grill on the M3/M4. I hate it on the regular 4 series, but on the M version it loses the "frame" and becomes frameless, making it look very menacing in my opinion

Split the grill horizontally with a body color matched line from the quarter panel, then eliminate the bottom vertical split to open up the lower intake and eliminate/reduce the lower slats. Upper grills, lower larger intake.
The more I watch BMW M3 and M4 reviews, the more I appreciate the design. To be honest, I didn't like the grills when I first saw it but now it has really grown on me.

It's interesting how a lot of reviews and reviewers describe torque figures. Torque figures detail mid range power, therefore you'd be saying that peek mid range power comes in at about 3000-5500 rpm, reaching maximum rpm power at just over 6000 rpm.

As the owner of a Giulia Quadrifoglio I have petitioned BMW to change the "Lung" grille on the front of the M / 3 and M / 4 because as they will always be in my rear view mirror they are making me nauseous....They said they will act on this soon....
I wonder the same thing but since the front grille is indescribably ugly I wouldn't consider a bmw at all. We all know that qv is something special. Waiting for a possibly new c63 class to compare.
I test drove the m2 today....what a car. The m3 was basically a family version of the m2 and it was beautiful. I'm ordering the m2 based off the fact I don't need 4 doors anymore and with the same engine it's a 453hp go kart 😂

I test drove the m2 today....what a car. The m3 was basically a family version of the m2 and it was beautiful. I'm ordering the m2 based off the fact I don't need 4 doors anymore and with the same engine it's a 453hp go kart 😂
