I fairly sure it’s a sales desk from a shop. The sales clerk would have the open shelf facing towards them to keep the money box and whatever else they might need and the pretty side was to the customers where they could sit while being served. I’ve seen old ones similar to that here in England. It was for the ladies to sit and wait while their orders were filled in high end shops. Anyway you did a fabulous job with this piece. It’s wonderful. Bravo.
That could be it! Thank you Chanda!
Thank you for showing how to be careful with leaded paints. I did a whole 27 room historic Italianate Villa removing all wood surfaces of several layers of paint . Only I had many dogs who suffered from my ignorance. That is why I thank you for your care .
Oh no! I couldn’t really find too many videos here on UA-cam on the process of removing lead paint when I was doing my research for this project so I’m glad I could shine some light on the topic!
Unbelievable!! Not just how beautiful this table was after you refinished it, but...that you even forged ahead and got this done. So many would have just run for the hills!
Thank you Mary!
Who would have thought all that beauty was hidden under all that mess? Few would have tackled that. You did a wonderful job.
Thank you Chris!
You know most people would probably trash this but you see potential in what other people consider rubbish and a waste of time. Love your work Well done. You certainly can transform any piece into a piece of beauty
It would be a great kitchen 'island' or a table with options, Maybe at Christmas you could turn it and put the creche on the shelf. Lovely finished job.
Thanks Mary! That’s a great idea!
Amber, this piece was so bad before that I probably would've said, "Thanks, but no thanks." It's so beautiful now. I'm really loving the wood/paint look on this.
😂😂😂 trust me you’re not the only one who has said that to me about this one!
This came out beautiful! Who would have thought this beauty was underneath the chipped paint and dirt! Well done!
Thank you Toni!
Finally! Lead paint removal 👏🏼👏🏼 I have a piece I pulled out of someone’s trash yesterday 🤣 When I started trying to remove the several layers of paint I realized due to the age that I just needed to stop and buy a lead test. I have yet to do that but I’m about 90% sure this has lead paint. I appreciate this video more than you could possibly know. 👏🏼👏🏼❤️🙂
Thank you!
Magnificent transformation!
Oh! That is gorgeous
Love it! I love that color! Beautiful!
It came out absolutely beautiful.
I may have stuck it back in the barn, you really knocked it out of the park. Beautiful
You’re not the only one whose said that! 🤣
Stunning work!

This is a great video, not only for the instruction of how to remove lead paint, but the inspiration to save an old piece that would otherwise be thrown out. Awesome job Amber!!

Wow that is stunning! Love the color....I was skeptical in the beginning but love the finished product. I would not tackle it but it's not my thing to strip and redo furniture. But I love watching and seeing the results.
This would make a beautiful kitchen island! Beautiful work flipping this awesome piece!!!
Yes it would! Thank you Kira!
Elegant and lovely!

Thank you Gail!
This really taught me a lesson. I never would have given this beauty a second look. Especially the top, looked completely weathered out and yet it turned out to be the prettiest part of the table. I sure hope you charge an appropriate fee. Beautiful work!!!!

It’s so pretty and I am glad you showed how to safely remove lead.
Thank you Crystal!
Beautiful.
Very attractive piece now.
Beautiful. I love that paint color with the stain color.
Thanks Deborah!
In loved it when that paint just started melting off so easily. That is so satisfying to watch! It turned out great. Thank you! 🤗
Oh my gosh I know! When that started happening I was blown away and totally sold on that stripper! Thanks for watching!
Love its dark brown stockings!
Stockings!!! I love this!!!
Thank you for sharing how to safely manage the removal of lead paint! I've been putting off doing anything with a set of cabinets that were my grandmother's as I'm fairly certain it's covered in lead paint.
You are one resourceful woman, well done!
Thank you Trudy!
Love it!
You mesh stain colors and paint colors perfectly!!
Amazing work!
Thank you Marlyn!
Beautiful..you are truly gifted i would never take on a project of this magnitud!!! God bless you for saving another piece of funiture!!
Thank you so much Maria!
GORGEOUS!! And yes. I’d take on a lead paint project. I’m pretty sure I have an antique chair that’s lead paint. Now I know how to treat it. Thanks for sharing! What a beautiful piece! And so cool for what it really is! I never would have thought of a sales desk. I would probably try to turn it into some kind of kitchen island or butcher block maybe. But I really LOVE what you did! 😍♥️♥️
Thank you Michelle! Good luck with your chair!
way more work and care than I would have given. when I found out a liquor cabinet was painted in led paint, I got rid of it without event trying to mess with it. good work.
Yea not every lead piece is worth saving. However I thought this was too unique to let it go to the dump. Also the exterior of my house is painted in lead paint and I am planning on stripping it off next summer so this was good practice! Thanks for watching Kyle!
Loved it. Beautiful
So glad I found your tutorial because I am tackling an antique sewing table that tested positive for lead paint. Its been a BEAR to strip. I spent ALL weekend working on only the top sections and it's still not completely off. I was wondering if it was worth my time. And then I saw your video. 'm going to order the Lead Out and will hopefully have the same success you did. Thanks for sharing your project!
Yay!!! I’m so I could help! I was amazed at how it literally melted off after I wrapped it in plastic wrap and let it sit over night. The exterior of my house is lead paint so I’ll be ordering the 5 gallon bucket to strip it off next summer!
Our 100 year old house has stupid lead paint all throughout. I'm so pleased you told me how to get the lead off!
I feel your pain! The exterior of my house is painted in lead paint. I plan on stripping it all off next summer!
@@UniqueUpcycles good luck!
Holy moly what a transformation!! Bravo 👏
Thanks girl!
Fantastic!!
Thank you so much!
Watching this again because I’m dealing with lead paint on a piece. So much great information. The caulking too for the cracks is a great idea.
So glad this video turned out to be super informative! This piece actually went to my best friend as a wedding gift. She’s using it as a coffee bar!
@@UniqueUpcycles love that!
WOW it's an awesome piece to work on. Very nice. Love the color combo. Beautiful.

Thank you!
Very nicely done!
Thank you Lorrie!
Fantastic piece & job
Thank you Christi!
Wow! Amazing. I don’t think I would have tackled that piece, much less the lead paint on it. It’s beautiful.
Thank you Kay!
Absolutely gorgeous! You are so inspiring. 🤗
Thank you so much Zee! 🥰
Really beautiful 😊
Absolute amazing!! Greetings from Germany!
Thank you Alexandra!
It's a beautiful, interesting and versatile piece of furniture. What a find. You did a fine job on upcycling it.
Thank you Adi!
Wow tons of work, but my God it’s amazing!
Thank you Lisette!
Wow! Finally someone speaking on lead paint! I’m always watching furniture tutorials and rarely hear mention on lead. It’s something we should know about but watching so many of these videos sometimes gets us wanting to work on things. This happened to me I just started sanding down a piece in my apartment not thinking about it till I was half done. Lead tested it and sure enough. Positive. I’m sure others have done the same since furniture tutorials are pretty popular. And don’t even get me started on asbestos lol. I’ve never seen your channel before your title got me to click! This is sweet thank you!
The piece I was sanding did was not painted which was why I did not initially worry about lead. It was just stained.
Oh I’m sure that I’ve sanded down lead paint at some point as well. Especially in the beginning of this journey. The exterior of my house is painted in lead paint and I plan on stripping it next summer so I really wanted to use this piece as practice to learn the process before I started the huge project of stripping my entire house! 😂 Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel!
@@UniqueUpcycles Oh my word that’s going to be a whole process. Lol I’m glad you brought some awareness. I’ve been dealing with less paint and asbestos situations a lot this past year and doing a lot of research (went down a rabbit hole). And when I talk to people about it literally no one cares or thinks/knows about it. Thanks for the lead off tip! Now I can think about finishing that project! Lol
Beautiful!!!!!!!
Thank you Zoila!
I love the shape x looks so lovely now x well done x
Great transformation! I love these unusual little pieces. They're my favorite. 🙂👍
Thank you Michele! I’m a sucker for a dramatic before and after!
Felicitaciones, una hermosa transformación y recuperación de una pieza antigua, espero ver mas videos, saludos desde Montreal
This is freaking ammmazzzing.
Yes, I would take on a job like that too, but I'm still learning.
Thank you Adriana! Trust me the learning never ends!
Oh that's nice!
