The house opposite me has been burgled 3 times and I’m guessing the reason is they are the only retired elderly couple with a nice house in our street. I feel sorry for them, they now sleep with lights on all night and have security lights that could light up a football pitch. 3 times the police have come knocking on our door asking have we seen anything. each time the scum get away with it. It’s getting way out of hand and the police know it. I think the best deterrent is a house alarm so when they brake in it goes off and they are loud enough to attract attention. The presence of a house alarm should put most off. Our quiet village is regularly burgled and it takes a crime to see the police otherwise we see none. we need patrols to go up and down regularly not only when a crime is committed. The driveway has always got vehicles on it so they will think we are in. I’ve got a security camera looking out of my window onto the driveway overlooking my bike and it can be seen so maybe that would put them off depending on who they are. Whoever keeps braking into the house across the road knows when the elderly couple go out because it’s always been while they are out. the police said they managed to brake into his wall safe the last time it happened about a month ago. Theres a process to getting a firearm depending on the state you have to have a handgun id to purchase a handgun or an fid for long rifles. The illusion that the UK is a non-violent, peaceful country is a myth. It's time the people were given the freedom to defend ourselves and our hard earned property adequately. Legalise defence aids like pepper spray, tasers, and batons, but licence them. Criminals have nothing to fear from robbing you because, you, as a law abiding citizen, are utterly defenceless.

I had a neighbor chased out of her home because she asked the junkies next door if they could keep the noise down at night, as they were often partying until 4am. They literally smashed in her back window (sliding door) trashed the kitchen by ripping all the cabinets off the wall. Smashed her television pissed on the living room couch and shat on her pillow. But man, at least they never poured Robinson fruit juice over her laminate flooring. That's just crossing the line tbh.
