I genuinely can’t believe this player played this game, probably watched this replay themselves, and thought “it’s my tanks fault! Emmong help me!” and sent it in
My guess is that they think that in a higher rank, they wouldn't have to heal as much, so it's just on the team if they feed. Problems with that mindset are that he is currently in bronze, so he needs to play like his team is shit and heal them more, and that mindset is only partly true in other levels anyway, because even if he would need to heal less in a higher rank compared to bronze, he's still not doing nearly enough scanning as a support for figuring out when healing does need to happen. If he was popping off hard-core and killing everything so fast that his team survived, that would be different, but he doesn't have the immense amount of skill it takes to win by himself, so he needs to actually work with his team instead of repeatedly going tunnel vision on whatever dps battle he is in. The mechanical skill may be good enough for gold, but the game sense for playing support in particular is just not there. While it's not advisable in any role, you can tunnel a bit more as a tank comparatively as long as you back up and use cover when necessary, while the whole point of support is to SUPPORT. Even if his Zarya is trying to disengage to get healed sometimes, this guy would never know because he's basically ignoring the Zarya most of the time.
My guess is they're like "The tank isn't playing the way I would", but that isn't a valid argument because you're comparing a bronze tank to a gold tank. The tank is playing like a bronze tank.

@@pixelsoulNo, it isn’t. Stop blaming others and look how you can improve your own value. Watch replays. Every death, ask what you could’ve done differently. If you keep blaming others, you’ll never improve. You probably learn bad habits (because you don’t get punished for stupid mistakes in low ELO) and unlearning them is difficult. Sure, those bad habits sometimes carry games. A DPS Moira can think they’re insane because “bigger number more better” while the other support dies in the backline and the fight is lost.
You think “my dps suck I’ll do it myself” but they might be tilted because they don’t receive any healing. If you look at your gameplay and you don’t see how you could improve anything, you’re the problem.

Your advice is good for general play (and for the player in the video) but 'hard stuck in bronze' is a real thing and is very difficult to climb out of unless you're significantly better than your team and can just carry. Otherwise I was stuck in bronze for a while when I first started rank and you simply can't win with stupid. And you're more likely to get paired up with stupid people when you're in bronze.
There's just such a wide range of skill (using 'skill' loosely) between people who have never played the game, people who are just not good and people who are getting better and climbing. You can be someone who is on the cusp of silver and still get paired with Bronze 5 idiots like the one in the video. And that's without taking into account the hidden MMR which can literally keep you stuck in lower ranks if you have an old account that you've barely played on etc. Of course it always comes down to 'skill issue' but they're right to say it's a nightmare to get out of too. OW is a team game after all and you're only as good as your worst teammate. And, as we can see in this game, your worst teammate can be really fuckin bad lol

There is nothing "to be fair to them" about. They were playing as bad or worse than everyone on their team, both mechanically and game sense wise, and also just from a pure logical approach mindset. Entirely in the dumpster level play we're witnessing. AND they go afk in the middle of a fight to throw a fit or something - aka actively committing an actionable offense, yet has the audacity to blame their team.
They're in bottom of Bronze, of course their team will be bad. But somehow this player managed to show they themselves were even worse.
The kiriko has the audacity to blame his tank, but is hardly even healing his tank , and playing like he’s a DPS 💀

It's obvious half of them gave up right away, idk why everyone's seriously criticizing Bastion emoting etc. At this point I'd heal walls too cause I'd be in a stupor from the shitshow. Their Zarya is a 2yo btw

Honestly I feel like Zarya, Bastion, and Kiriko were all passing back and fourth the one remote they had.
The irony is the Zarya bubbling the Kiri when she needs help and effectively supporting her more than they did them lol

The zarya wasn't even that bad when they had the openings to make a play they just never where healed so it kept being harder to puah
the fact that they actually bubble their teammates means they at least deserve silver

As someone who used to be in bronze back in OW1 and climbed to mid-high Diamond, I can tell you what their line of thought is; "I am dying cause my tank is not protecting me - I should be able to not have to use corners, be aggressive, be in front of the tank, and always be safe if my tank is doing their job" basically they expect tank to be their personal bodyguard all game. I remember having games where supports were asking for Rein just to have a shield to be behind of, instead of using natural cover.
We really need an adopt a bronze program. I feel just a few hours a week from playing with even a gold player would be good for them. No hate to bronze obviously I just think this is an example of a skill island where bronze doesn’t get to mingle above bronze and learn the mistakes they regularly make.

It seriously makes a world of difference. My brother just got back into the game last night for the first time since 2018, and by the end of the night we went from lobbies where folks don't know what cover or the cart are to matching with golds and plats

I've played with a lot of bronze players in QP while I've been plat to diamond in comp and it's usually just basic mistakes like thinking point presence means more than winning the fight to get the point etc. So you get to see people hurl themselves towards the point to be killed and staggered like this video showed haha

Frontline DPS Kiriko who takes every duel while only healing as an after thought. The whole team is playing solo while the enemy team is teaming. This is not the tank and to be perfectly honest, they are very much a bronze support player. Both this player and their bastion started randomly throwing as well. The Zarya is being aggro, but they are doing nothing to enable that playstyle while simply complaining about it. It is called support because you need to support. This is coming from a gold support. EDIT: That Suzu with no follow-up heals actually made me mad. Rhe fact they immediately left their nearly dead tank to go back to DPSing just sent me.

@xaviergoodwin4806 If you want to be a solo warrior, go play a solo game. If you want to play DPS, go play DPS. Supports can and do get elims, but that Zarya needed their support and their support was off playing DPS instead.

@Antonio-ys5zd I think that may be part of the issue. They were playing her like a dive tank, not a support. I would not be surprised to find out they main Ball, Diom, or JQ with this play style. Although even a dive tank should know their health packs.

The damn torb STILL sitting up top babysitting his turret and then moves it one foot away from his original placement lmao. The most bronze game I've ever seen
The crazy part is that this game was actually as close as it was. Ults wasted, people afk emoting in the middle of the map, support with probably less than 1k heals, team staggered basically the entire game, and yet blue team almost made it more than 2/3rds of the way. Not to mention this Kiriko had no idea what cover was, ignored her entire team with no care about was actually happening, or even attempting to coordinate with the team. The whole team just spawned, held w, pressed all the buttons and died, rinse and repeat. No thought at all about any decisions.
I have a feeling this Kiriko thinks they need to do "damage, damage, damage". But that only works if you know when you need to heal your team inbetween doing damage, so that they dont die. Not only did this Kiriko not know when that was, she wasnt even looking at her team to check.

This really feels like they forgot they are the support. They are playing as if they are the tank still. If they play like this while still hitting silver, that means they were carried by the other support.
TP in, suzu and then not a single heal won't keep anyone up the way the game plays right now.

This is what I was thinking of as well. They were in frontlines so many times and looking behind them seemed to be a second thought. I saw times where they could have saved a teammate (that was literally so close to them) but was so intent on damage that heals were not made.
Keeping in mind that they are a support first and foremost is already a big step forward. They could go aggro and deal damage but making sure that their team is all good and healthy is a priority.
Support is just better dps 😏

not really a problem with trying to improve. I mean for all intents and purposes this is the perfect environment to improve because it forces you to actually figure out how value truly works - because if you don't add real value consistently, then your team WILL find ways to int your games straight to hell before you can blink lol. Actual issues arise in higher ranks where you may not immediately be punished for being a bad player, if your team can stabilize for you consistently and don't feed their own brains out all the time. Especially when you play support and can stay safe in a backline (boosted Mercy and Kiri players this one for yall)

@@chaseadams598 People in gold-plat lobbies are especially notorious for this. They think you're not keeping up, even though you might die the least. But that's the only stat that might actually matter, your number of deaths. Better to know when to evade and survive longer than it is to do high damage but feed all the time.
This game is so chaotic, I love it. This game has entertained me more than most multi million dollar Hollywood movies from nowadays.
I really want to see the healing stats on kiriko this game. Frontline dps kiriko is absolutely wild when they don’t even pick up health packs when they’re low and walk past it trying to escape. I also want to know how the player reacted to the commentary

the best way I can explain how this Kiriko played was that they played exactly like how they would play a tank. Both roles play fairly differently but this Kiriko was hard beelining for anyone and taking any hit they could get, I think I rarely saw them actually healing but they sure did take a lot of shots!

Summary: Gold tank player ques support and forgets that healthpacks exist or that they are a back line player. Teleports into fights rather then out. Blames tank while thier dps is memeing most of the time.
Take away: supports are the eyes in the sky scan for your team to know where they are and... do not... just tunnel vision on a torb turret that is being repaired by torb

They did push further because of the zarya. The orisa wasn't very good so the zarya was able to take her down but the zarya wasn't being healed so the fights were tough

Awkward preaches pressure and consistent value. This Kiri applied like half a banana's worth of pressure during this game. They don't need to listen to coaching, they need 10x more hours on their hero first lol.
I disagree on some strategies of awkward like the tracer one but with the supports he's correct. Damage is what carries, but don't let anyone die.
well, awkward have 4 steps plan for Kiriko. 1.dmg before the fight 2. off angle 3. distraction 4. go back and stabilize your team. In this game we have 1.siting on car before the fight 2. crazy flank without knowing where enemy is 3. focus on enemy and shooting the heal in him 4 death with teleport and suzu ready to use.

Bronze should have forced tutorials. I watched this kiriko heal the wall so many times I genuinely wonder if they even broke 1k heals.
You can see all the many, many times the Kiriko looks at the ground trying to throw Suzu and not realizing it's on cooldown.
Which would be understandable, I've done that a few times, if it weren't for the fact it's often like two seconds after the previous Suzu which makes me wonder how they forgot. Or how they do it multiple times right after another.
From watching how this player plays support, I can only imagine how aggressive they are as a tank. I can only imagine the amount of work supports have to put in to keep them alive.

As someone who plays a lot of tank, you should know and recognize just how much work supports have to put in to keep a tank alive in the current game state. When the roles are reversed I would expect you to reciprocate that and help your tank rather than trying to DPS every 5 milliseconds.
Also you blame the tank for being too aggressive? The entire team was constantly feeding, plus the DPS just gave up and afked for a while. Everyone made major mistakes in that game, so to blame the Tank is silly, in fact the Tank arguably made the least mistakes.

This player walks out of spawn up to the enemy. Then presses either the A or the D key. And then holds down their left click. Not trying to hit anything, mind you. Just holding that button down while slowly suffering from key drift. Dies. Blame tank. Repeat.
