The Huawei ban is MUCH bigger than you think

  • Huawei is getting blacklisted by the United States. The tech company was added to the Commerce Department’s Entities List, a de facto ban on US companies selling to Huawei. It’s part of an ugly trade war between the US and China, and it goes a lot deeper than what you’ve probably read.

      In seriousness, the U.S. and Germany are part of the same military alliance (NATO) and enforce the rule of law, including respecting each others' intellectual property. Western governments spy on each other, but rarely engage in industrial espionage to help domestic companies. None of that is true of China.

      Samsung comes from a great country that doesn't meddle across the world unlike US, China and even the EU to an extent. So good, Samsung and it's country deserves this, you should be rewarded for not sewing chaos for political / fiscal gain. They are all bad in their own way from proxy wars to debt traps but South Korea, it's trying to make peace with North Korea.. that's how they work. If only Europe and the rest of the world would learn and no, nobody forces us to do what we do directly and/or indirectly - it's purely us and our gain too.

    This piece was either poorly researched or disingenuous. At this point China has very few valid options to counter this move. The United States is China's largest customer. China is by far not the US's largest customer. Any retaliatory attempt to shut off a company like foxconn would inflict unimaginable pain on China as well. China's chief sticking point has been the US requirement that they change their laws regarding foreign partnerships and intellectual property rights to make it possible for a foreign entity to operate freely within their borders and to sue if their technology is stolen.
    I personally expect that this move will end up being leverage over China in negotiations.

      There is a problem and it is the fact that this ecosystem would be dependent on Google Apps too. There is no alternative video source as UA-cam and there are many other things to concern like google maps, photos, search engine. All this isn't created just because Google is solely in the branch, we all users as part of Google contribute for it. Newly Created system would be bland and dull without mentioned above.

    • @Hellspawn100
      @Hellspawn100 5 років тому

      @@ivaniliev2272 I hear you mate, but I don't think this should be an issue. I mean Huawei wouldn't be so foolish not to include apps that would allow users readily access services like youtube or gmaps and so on easily. Besides it's good to note there exist already a lot of very good alternatives to many of Google's services. A prime example is Google's play-store, I use a custom rom and I don't use the play-store but Yalp which does a good job.
