Why of all places is Mario Kart the series with perhaps some of the most triumphant-sounding, nostalgia-inducing themes of all time in the Rainbow Road themes alone? Seriously, Rainbow Road themes seem to capture the feeling of overcoming an arduous challenge or reflecting on good times of the past perfectly.
I grew up with the DS and wii version A little bit with the n64 version, but I was a little kid in that time and didn't show that much interest in gaming But mk64 will now always be my favorite amongst DS and wii EDIT: my favorite ones are now Double Dash, Wii, DS, and 8 Deluxe

SNES: Not my personal favorite, but very catchy and fits the theme well. The 3DS and Wii U versions sound much better than the first two. I particularly enjoy the transitions. N64: Basically set the standard of what a Rainbow Road theme should be. There’s a reason this classic piece has gotten remixed so much. It’s like Nintendo tried to make this as nostalgic for MK64 fans as possible. GBA: Super under-appreciated song that fits Super Circuit perfectly. It manages to sound catchy and great on the infamously bad GBA soundfont. Shoutouts to the broken shortcuts by the way. GCN: Feel like a mashup of Rainbow Road styles up to this point, in a way. Each part of the song is filled with charm. Overall one of the many reasons I’m jealous for the Double Dash generation. DS: My first Rainbow Road, and one of the more under appreciated ones. The melody near the end of the song loop is incredible. It helps to give a rather straight forward designed course (minus the loops) more depth. Wii: My second Rainbow Road as well as my favorite. The way that this song combines Rainbow Road with Mario Galaxy is able to make anyone feel great. It’s particularly an excellent motivator for me. 3DS: Nathaniel Bandy said it best: this isn’t just a race, but rather an experience. The song contains many different parts, and at least one of them will make you feel something. It’s just impossible to hate this course. Wii U/Switch: This song has its own take on what a Rainbow Road theme should be, much like the course design itself. While some might not prefer this version, it does fit the new design style very well.

They do? I don't know how anyone can dislike any of them, they all sound so amazing (except MK8's imo isn't memorable at all but it still sounds pretty good)

My favorite rainbow road is mario kart ds. because i remember sitting down on the sofa and completing all the tracks in the game in one sitting, and i left rainbow road last because it was in mario kart wii and i was expecting it to be the same as the wii version, i was sad back then that is was not the same but sooo happy now :D

DS Rainbow Road has the best theme for sure. Not sure about the course itself though, I'd say the GCN, Wii and SNES courses (from best to worst) are better. As I said, the DS theme has got to be the best though. Both the GBA theme and course are the worst.

I know it's Mario Kart only, but, honestly, it should've had the F-Zero X version, as a bonus. Sure, it's a rock/metal version of the MK64 one, but, still. On another note, the MK8 remake of Rainbow Road 64, should've been a three lap race, instead of a three checkpoint one lap to the finish. Just like the original. And it seems the MK8 version of "Super" Rainbow Road wasn't added. Proably because the DLCs weren't there, at the time, when this video was made, though.

Rainbow Road N64... first ever track I mastered in MK64... after I finally got that shortcut jump just right, everything else came naturally.
Fun fact: MK7 RR is one HUGE theme just split up into sections... Normal for lap 1 and 2 Calm mode for when on the moon and the last part for lap 3
