Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64 is only deemed bad because we have better games in the series to choose from, but of course I give it a pass since it’s the very first one, and it was not initially planned to be a series.
Same. I definitely did not find it to be a bad game; in fact, If I did not like it so much, I probably would have never been interested in its successors.
It’s not the worst by traditional game design standards, but rather that it’s the foundation for what was to come later on. Still, in a vacuum, it has less characters, modes, least inspired move-sets, and contemporary graphics.
It's not a bad game by any means, it's just by far the worst in the series. The order probably goes: 64, Brawl, Wii U/3DS, Melee, Ultimate. From worst to best.
Okay, star fox zero wasnt the worst. That title goes to star fox command. Now THAT game sucked. Clunky controls, on top of that the cintrols that basically required you to crab claw the DS, the controls were unfaithful to any entry of the series, and the gameplay that utilized the bad controls' gimmicks and mechanics? Terribly executed...that, and it's story was dreadfully lackluster.
While Star Fox Zero was disappointing at the time, Star Fox Command is a worse game with worse controls and I will die on that hill. Also how can Game & Wario be the worst WarioWare game when Snapped exists?
It’s because it was misleading in what it was supposed to be. The start has a Zelda-like view and level, but after that it goes into a mix of a fighting game and a party (minigame-based) game. Battle Royale felt like an expanded test demo, even if it was still pretty fun
I going to disagree with you about Star Fox Zero being the absolute worst in the Star Fox series. I played that game and enjoyed it since I'm not a critic. I going to say that Star Fox Command is the absolute worst. For Fire Emblem, I'm going with Thracia 776 because it might be the hardest game in the series.
I just recently replayed and 100% Star Fox Zero, and while I can understand why people think it’s the worst of the series, I actually find it quite fun. The explosion sound were very graphic, and I find the terrain to be basically just as lively as Star Fox 64. So, in my opinion, it is not garbage but is not the best ever.
well being the worst mother game is still a compliment. some people say mega man 5 is the worst mega man game of the original 6 but it still decimates a lot of nes/famicom games.
Mother 1 - The game is okay but its just the graphics and the gameplay. There are times where I cannot even make out an NPC’s shape and they don’t even look like a human. For example, the war veteran in the desert. Also, the random enemy encounters are so annoying!! There are literally times where I finished a battle and I literally took one step and all of a sudden I hear battle music! Don’t even get me started on Mt. Itoi

Star Fox Zero isn’t that bad of a game. Sure the controls are bad the story is just 64 not to mention the acting is pretty good and bad on some ways but if people just master the game controls and practice more of them it’s actually a fun and challenging experience. Not to mention the side content you can get once you beat the game and the amibos contain some really cool fan service. Not to mention the advertising for the game was very creative and the animated short was amazing to see. To the people who complain that the game is all bad for the controls have a skill issue and just suck and actually didn’t practice enough. I love Zero however if people don’t like it then that’s fine.
Honestly would have swapped Hotel Mario for Mario's Time Machine (SNES) Mario's Time Machine on SNES is legit just schoolwork (NES one was way better as it was more of a platformer with some history lessons) At least Hotel Mario is like a game
I don't understand why there aren't more Kid Icarus games. A 3D platformer with a Greek mythology skinning and a heavy combat focus would be a slam dunk for Nintendo.
If you think Pokémon Dash is the worst Pokémon game, then you might not have heard about Pokémon Channel. The game where all you do for the majority of the game... is watching TV.
@spagootest2185 HYP at least tried to do its best with the technology that was available at that time. If it came out like 15 years later, I'm sure it would be a great game. With Channel, they didn't show off crazy new tech or anything. It's just a game where you watch TV. Nothing else
Being fair to Federation Force, it was released with bad timing. Had it been released after at least 2 or 3 regular Metroid games, it would have been seen as a good game.
I agree on most, including your personal list: Smash Bros didn't - and doesn't have any flaws per se: it was a N64 game, so there is no way they could have done what they did in later games (trophies and stickers galore): the fact that you were having popular characters duking it out with plenty of items to use and four secret characters to boot, was very good in 1999. It was just a matter of available technology. Star Fox Zero, which I enjoyed, to be honest, on the other hand, could have indeed used more effort in the making, considering the technology was available. I enjoyed it nevertheless, so I agree with that 3rd spot. Metroid Prime: Federation Force was bad, but I never condoned the violently over the top reaction from fans. Grow up. Don't like a game, don't buy it. But don't harass anyone for doing their job. It got fourth spot, and rightly so. Pokémon Dash and F-Zero Maximum Velocity weren't good (though I did enjoy F-Zero thanks to SNES memories), but they served the obvious purpose of acting as show games for their respective consoles, and they did it well (on a side note, I always thought DS graphics were kind of bland, but it goes to show how back then people cared a little less for graophics and more for fun, compared to today's legions of spoiled brats raging over 30 or 60 fps)
Personally i do prefer Arm Wrestling over the other two arcade games. The hit detection and dodging is a bit wonky compared to any other game in the series. I also like the colorful graphics and how the difficulty remains nice in the rematches. They also give way more replays to the player. It never feels unfair. I wish one day we get a Super Arm Wrestling or something, lol.

Yoshi (the NES game) 6. Mario Pinball Land 7. The Punch-Out arm wrestling spin-off 8. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl 9. Kid Icarus 2 10. Warioware: Snapped 11. Star Fox Command 12. Hey Pikmin 13. Kirby Till n' Tumble 14. Fire Emblem Gaiden 15. Super Smash Bros for Wii U 16. Chibi Robo: Zip Laser I don't see F-Zero: Maximum Velocity as bad as someone say that is
Mario Kart Super Circuit has no New characters (excluding Yoshi colors), and Mario Kart 7 doesn't have VS mode, unlike Mario Kart DS and Wii. Also, Mario Kart 7 doesn't have Waluigi playable, and he was replaced by either Honey Queen or Metal Mario. That's why I don't like both these games.
I really loved Yoshi's touch and go. it was a tough, but fun and original score-based platformer with shmump elements that really took advantage of the DS capabilities. The footage doesn't do it justice but in the first phase, you help Baby Mario to safely land on Yoshi's Island, protect him by drawning cloud and trapping enemies into bubles, build up score by collecting coins, but the second phase is where the fun really begins, when Yoshi's pick up baby mario and you have to defend yourself by throwing eggs on enemies on both screens while yoshi advance automatically. It's really In fact i prefer it over Yoshi's Topsy Turvy (Universal Gravitation) or even New Island.

Me personally, I didn’t really like the Kirby games on the Wii U. Epic Yarn and that Canvas game didn’t seem like the traditional Kirby style, and I didn’t have a 3DS to play Planet Robobot or Triple Deluxe. Hotel Mario isn’t even that bad. The hate is overblown, mostly by people that have NEVER touched it.
I was looking for this comment. Not the game of the century but far from being an awful PoS.
The Mario is Missing and Time Machine worst in my opinion.
The problem is that the mario games have a standard quality so high
@@eduardobalza6000Exactely
11:48 thats not the reason its the worst. Its the worst because of the awful physics.
I completely disagree with Game & Wario being the worst Wario game. You may have never heard of WarioWare: Snapped! Have you?
I agree, that game was the only bad WarioWare game to me.
I actually played that game when it released but it was so forgettable that I forgot it for this video.
@@NintenUnity understandable
It was a tech demo
The worst Wario game should've been WarioWare: Snapped. Game & Wario may have been disappointing, but Snapped was virtually unplayable.
Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64 is only deemed bad because we have better games in the series to choose from, but of course I give it a pass since it’s the very first one, and it was not initially planned to be a series.
It feels surreal knowing there was a third CDi Zelda, even more so that it has live action cutscenes.
Most games: Bad and boring gameplay, janky controls, no replay value
Donkey Kong's worst game: math
Star Fox Zero still hurts since the series hasn't given any sign of life ever since
Zero had wonky controls, but I’d still say Command is worse due to its writing and character designs 😭
The original Smash Bros was the first one I've played in the series and hold a special place in my heart
@@Daluckyplays is there a particular reason why Brawl is not well liked?
@@PokemonRebornFan Tripping, Meta Knight, and many other things make it the least competitively played modern smash game.
Zelda had her own game on the CD-i???????????? Thank god Echoes of Wisdom is doing her justice.
She got Wand of Gamelon as well, but you know the memes, huh?
While Star Fox Zero was disappointing at the time, Star Fox Command is a worse game with worse controls and I will die on that hill.
Also how can Game & Wario be the worst WarioWare game when Snapped exists?
5:25 It's Not Bad. It's Meme 🤑
I didn't know why Kirby Battle Royale was Hated. Was it because of Kirby's character assassination or the gameplay?
It’s because it was misleading in what it was supposed to be. The start has a Zelda-like view and level, but after that it goes into a mix of a fighting game and a party (minigame-based) game. Battle Royale felt like an expanded test demo, even if it was still pretty fun
I wouldn’t call Game & Wario the worst WarioWare game, it can still be enjoyed as it is. What you’re thinking of is WarioWare: Snapped.
10:51 Yeah, that remake called Shadows Of Valentia might have been a fixxer upper, and necessary.
I just recently replayed and 100% Star Fox Zero, and while I can understand why people think it’s the worst of the series, I actually find it quite fun. The
explosion sound were very graphic, and I find the terrain to be basically just as lively as Star Fox 64. So, in my opinion, it is not garbage but is not the best ever.
Footnote to this, I understand that using 2 screens may be difficult, and you do have to get used to it to get 100% on levels.
Which Star Fox game is the worst in your opinion?
There is no worst Mother game.
but can we all agree Earthbound Beginnings/Mother 1 is the worst?
@@Ultimate6489 Still quite far from being bad
well being the worst mother game is still a compliment. some people say mega man 5 is the worst mega man game of the original 6 but it still decimates a lot of nes/famicom games.
@@wurlyburd_miura yup, my only complaint is the stupid amount of enemies
Mother 1 - The game is okay but its just the graphics and the gameplay. There are times where I cannot even make out an NPC’s shape and they don’t even look like a human. For example, the war veteran in the desert. Also, the random enemy encounters are so annoying!! There are literally times where I finished a battle and I literally took one step and all of a sudden I hear battle music! Don’t even get me started on Mt. Itoi
No Super NES games were harmed. :)
This video feels like a meme or a "kicks-post". Most of these games really aren't that bad. In fact, _Arm Wrestling_ is pretty charming, for what it is. Shame that aspect of the _Punch-Out!!_ world was mostly forgotten. Imagine Little Mac vs. Alice and Ape III!
Also, don't you be knockin' my _Of Myths & Monsters, Maximum Velocity,_ or my _Super Smash Bros._
They aren't calling most of these games "bad", just that all their sequels managed to improve upon them.
3:53 Portuguese brazilian: Até o Metroid Other M conseguia ser bom porque a história era muito boa na versão japonesa. A história de Metroid Other M só era ruim na versão ocidental, graças a péssima localização que o jogo recebeu.
English: Even Metroid Other M managed to be good because the story was very good in the Japanese version. The story of Metroid Other M was only bad in the Western version, thanks to the terrible localization that the game received.
Zero is NOT the worst star fox game. Command.
Thank you!!
I was about to say that.
"You bring a light?"
"NO"
I will not stand for Arm Wrestling slander 😤
I thought Hey You, Pikachu! was the worst Pokémon game.
Pokemon Channel was pretty bad, too.
@@brandonp7503 yeah but can you count Pokemon Channel as a game?
You don’t need to even hold the controller for most of it.
Honestly would have swapped Hotel Mario for Mario's Time Machine (SNES)
Mario's Time Machine on SNES is legit just schoolwork (NES one was way better as it was more of a platformer with some history lessons)
At least Hotel Mario is like a game
I don't understand why there aren't more Kid Icarus games. A 3D platformer with a Greek mythology skinning and a heavy combat focus would be a slam dunk for Nintendo.
If you think Pokémon Dash is the worst Pokémon game, then you might not have heard about Pokémon Channel. The game where all you do for the majority of the game... is watching TV.
I think Hey You Pikachu is worse
But what is the worst game from Mario and Zelda and Pokemon that was made by nintendo and game freak.
I find Yoshi Touch and Go relaxing. Can't stand the Yoshi's Island game with the Kazoos, though.
Yes! Let’s give it some credit!!!
Relaxing, until you got to the Yoshi portion of the game.
Wich is really fun.
1:06 and so I found this champion who I didn't just keep imprisoned for an undisclosed amount of time...
Thanks for all the Nintendo video I’ve been subscribed for along time and just wanted to say I like your work so much! ~!
0:00 - Yes, via AVGN, like many, many years ago. It was the last showcased game, and he told about the flaws, by a lot.
Sometimes to be unique, you have to stray from the path. With a statement/title like that, that implies they are way off the path and into bad territory (may be but still)
Kirby battle royale and smash 64 were the games that got me introduce on both the smash series and the kirby series, they are not that bad. Smash 64 is (literally) the first game of the series and kirby BR is a good game, at least for me. (Kirby avalanche should be on its spot, it's just a puyopuyo reskin)
In my opinion, some as same as the video but some differents:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes
2. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival
2. Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
4. Metroid Prime Pinball
5. Yoshi (the NES game)
6. Mario Pinball Land
7. The Punch-Out arm wrestling spin-off
8. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
9. Kid Icarus 2
10. Warioware: Snapped
11. Star Fox Command
12. Hey Pikmin
13. Kirby Till n' Tumble
14. Fire Emblem Gaiden
15. Super Smash Bros for Wii U
16. Chibi Robo: Zip Laser
I don't see F-Zero: Maximum Velocity as bad as someone say that is
Zelda's Adventure? And everybody thought that Echoes of Wisdom was the first Zelda when you controll Zelda

@@SaulGRCanalYT WDYM, there is none
Wand of Gamelon is the first, and I'm pretty sure everyone knew about that one long before Echoes of Wisdom was announced. It's a YTP classic!
It's really
In fact i prefer it over Yoshi's Topsy Turvy (Universal Gravitation) or even New Island.
And also, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity was part of the 10 free GBA Virtual Consoles for the 3DS
Obligatory "SWITCH ERA POKEMON BAD" comment.
6:59 nope, Pokemon Dash is a minigame sold as a full priced game. It is at least fun for 5 minutes.
Pokemon Sword and Shield are the worst games ever. They ain't even fun for one minute and the full game is literally more than double the price of an actually good game.
10:17 I still play this game to this day, it’s an underrated game
6:53 the fact that Bald Bull is just there in the spin-off is funny. Why is he there. This is the only time where an arcade character returns.
I'll never understand the hate for Star Fox Zero nor the love for Adventures
Uhhhhhhh
Amiibo Festival? No thanks, I have Mario Party 10.
Ah yes, the mario party with cars and squares
What do you think of Gaiden’s remake for the 3DS, Echoes: Shadows of Valentia?
Gaiden by itself was fine for its time, but Echoes really made the game much better by having a more detailed story, better characterization and some nice new mechanics.
Jeez, I'd forgotten all ABOUT Starfox Zero! XD One of the few games I've played I can genuinely say I didn't like.
I couldn't even finish watching a PLAYTHROUGH of "Hey! Pikmin!", though. XD
I didn't dislike Smash 64, even though I could unlock basically everything in the game in a few hours (I usually HAD to, because the battery was burnt out in my copy. XD).
Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Command were atrocious. I actually liked Adventures and Assault as well as all the others. But Zero and Command are just terrible
Paper Mario Sticker Star: "Am I a joke to you?"
I'm not too fond of Origami, either.
To be honest, I'd rather Zero over Command.
Me too.

Oh, _Flick_ off, gotcha
The list isn't complete, you still missed out a couple of other Nintendo franchises:
Fossil Fighters
Earthbound/Mother
Starfy
Splatoon
Chibi--Robo
And others that i can't remember.
Poor Fossil Fighters gets left out of almost every "all Nintendo franchises" thing (not just on this channel).
For Earthbound it's the first game. (Which is fine, it's the first.) But it had random enemy encounters, low graphics, the least amount of battle / characters.
Chibi Robo Zip Laser was the killer of its series
What is Fossil Fighters?
@@alfredd56 a very niche Nintendo series that you dig up fossils to revive dinosaurs (they're called vivosaurs) and fight against other vivosaurs.
There are only three games:
Fossil Fighters (DS)
Fossil Fighters Champions (DS)
Fossil Fighters Frontier (3DS)
Not sure why people struggle so much with Star Fox Zero
How is Game & Wario on here when WarioWare Snapped exists
Kirby Battle Royale does genuinely feel like a shovelware game with how little polish it has
"Since Splatoon, EarthBound and Xenoblade have so few games (and all of them were good), these franchises were left out."
Proceeds to diss Kid Icarus when Xenoblade has more games
Me personally, I didn’t really like the Kirby games on the Wii U. Epic Yarn and that Canvas game didn’t seem like the traditional Kirby style, and I didn’t have a 3DS to play Planet Robobot or Triple Deluxe. This is why it took a long time of waiting for Star Allies to come out on the Switch for me to experience and get introduced to the world of Kirby. It helped a bit that there were emulators online to play games like Crystal Shard and Squeak Squad. But yeah, I didn’t really like the looks of the Wii U games, should I give it a shot?
I think it's too late because the Wii U and 3ds stores are GONE
