Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"
Rest in peace, Michael K. Williams. OMAR FOREVER!
fr
I was so upset when he died. He was a treasure. The series Black Market that Colbert mentions was so good. A passion project
I saw him in the Gambler, and he was very good as one of the gangsters. I could not believe he was sold heroin laced with Fentanyl. Knowing what we know about Fentanyl today, it's not hard to see that Michael was playing with fire. RIP Mr Williams.
* Whistles *
Omar's Coming Yo!
That would have cleared out the room.
*bag of drugs drop out the window* lol
pso89 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Omar is the man!
RIP Michael K Williams. You were an inspiration for many and totally captivating on the screen.
What?!??!
Rip 🙏🏻
@@johnm3066 he died
Before The character of Omar , gay men on screen had been portrayed as flamboyant, feminine , robin Williams in "birdcage" type. Having the character the coldest , baddest dude on The Wire be gay was a stroke a genius by David Simon. The Wire is a complete masterpiece of television.
I agree with you aside from the fact that Marlo was way colder than Omar.
+Jonny Rager Shit Stringer was pretty cold too....all business. Put a green light on D AND moved in with his girl.
+Chris Garrod Omar was Lawful Neutral, while Marlo was just Chaotic Evil, so... yeah, kinda obvious, but true.
man I feel like Christopher Partlow was the coldest one. or maybe the most savage one, he played that character so well
I always called him "Dirty Derek Luke" lol!!! They look like they could be related. But seriously, dude was a straight up heartless mark... I actually thought Snoop was for a minute, but I saw that Chris had some levels to him and each was cold af.
I just finished The Wire last night and Omar was my favorite character. So heartbroken this man passed… what a talent. Thank you for this incredible performance in The Wire and beyond, sir. R.I.P.
Omar was my favorite character as well. Michael K Williams acting was so on point that it didnt even seem like acting. RIP indeed.
i just started watching for the first time.. his character scares me lol
Man his scenes when he was on the stand was probably the best TV back then. I robs drug dealers lmao.
@@kjnewman7518"Jus' like you, man." Timeless performance. I can't recommend his other roles enough. Truly a phenom, oh indeed. RIP
Money aint got no owners, only spenders
Dysentery Gary I tell you something else, I like that ring too.
Boy you got me confused for a man who repeats himself.
Women and health
I like that ring too. Boy got me confused when a man repeat himself 🤐
It actually does in the case of the USA. Its owned by the Federal Reserve . :-)
I think these four fives beats that full house.
Michael K Williams is one of the most underrated actors.
"Indaeeed'
He is not underrated, he is underutilized. Anyone who has seen his work, admires and respects his talent. He appears happy with his life right now and I'm happy for him.
Omar..ma man...😎😎
Sort of type cast, And i say that because of the scar. Like Tommy Flanagan, the physical scars take away from the types of roles one can play.
@@ellenhyde8381 I was just going to comment something similar.
Wow, this guy is amazing. I served him in my restaurant last year. The most humble, and empathic celebrity I have served in my life. Blessings.

The world would be a better place if everyone watched The Wire. A friend of mine is a social worker and for her education she was required to watch the 4th season which focused on the inner-city schools, because it was just that accurate. It's not the most entertaining show out there, but it's definitely the most important show ever.
That was the most disturbing season of the show. Heartbreaking.
That whole season fucked me up
quagthias for me the wire and breaking bad is at the top. I found it extremely entertaining too. The court scene where Omar distroys Maury. Oh man. Goosebumps. Such strong characters. It was an honour to watch the show. Pretty sure you all feel the same.
quagthias *definitely* a very entertaining show
Jeffe McDougal That scene with Bubbles and Sherrod was probably the saddest part of the show
"I thinks not Terrell, I thinks not."
"Yo Omar, we up here with a Mac 10!
We in here with the mac 10
Oh indeed
Ritesh Sawant my shit lol
LOL I'm fkn dead!!!
-State your name for the record
+Omar Devon Little
-Mr.Little, how old are you?
+About 29, thereabout.
-And where do you live?
+No place in particular, ma'am.
-You're homeless?
+Uh... In the wind, so to speak.
-And what is your occupation?
+Occupation?
-What exactly do you do for a living, Mr. Little?
+I rip and run.
-You...
+I robs drug dealers
-And exactly how long has this been your occupation, Mr.Little?
+I don't know exactly.I venture to say maybe about eight or nine years.
-Mr.Little, how does a man rob drug dealers for eight or nine years live to tell about it?
+Day at a time, I suppose.
Efe Egemen I’m watching this exact episode right now 😂
🤣legend. “I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase
Brilliant script for sure
@@juliangemignani9506 "It's all in the game, right?"... The Wire had its preachy moments, but they were oh so delicious, so I can't hate.
Omar goes out for cereal in his robe and slippers, the corner boys scatter and drop him the drugs while he pauses for a smoke...Omar was LEGIT!!!
It's all in the game, yo.
haha nice
You got the briefcase, I got the shotgun. All in the game yo...
Well said
R.i.p. this man has the most genuine eyes ive ever seen in my life. So warm and caring
Rest in Peace to this absolute legend. 🕊😪
I can’t believe that no one in the crowd called out “Omar coming yo”
fr bro
Maybe because no one heard the whistle
He certainly earned everything he's got. He was great as Omar, surrounded by equally talented actors.
Looking at his career without any bias, he seriously has to be in the convo as one of the greatest screen actors of all time. Was in The Wire, The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, 12 Years a Slave, and Community. HOF resumé
Watching this after his death…it’s chilling to know that he would be gone just five years after this interview. He was clearly grateful for all his success and he still had so many opportunities ahead of him - it’s a shame he was taken so early by his addiction. Rest in power, MKW. Glad your work as Omar, Chalky and other iconic roles will live on for future generations.
One of the greatest television characters ever written, Omar and The Wire are truly brilliant.
RIP and long live Michael K. Williams (November 22, 1966 - September 6, 2021), aged 54
You will always be remembered as a legend.
Wow. It's amazing how young he looks for being almost 50.
Black don't crack my nigga.

Gixxer Fixxer u the funniest nigga in da world for dat one
he looks about 50 yall need to stop wit this black dont crack
Going to miss him. As an anti-hero as Omar he had me hooked, but he is much more than that. A class act.
The Wire is the best series ever made. Word.
Rest In Peace to this man. Another bright and talented soul, taken far too soon by addiction.
Allegedly by addiction.
@@raggaduxjones true. either way you know the man was battling some internal demons.
True talent .....he will be truly missed.this hurts
So much affection for Omar
0:04 OMAR COMING YO
I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase.
All in the game though, right?
Great scene...
Great personal style
Yo, it's Omar!
RUNNNNN
Paulo Brasil With that whistle! Lmao!!
RIP to a real artist 🙏
RIP man. He was absolutely brilliant as Omar, so tough, so gay, so feral, so crazy, and so inspirational. Whenever he used to walk and everyone would shour Omar coming, I bet he felt like he was in a western. Absolutely fantastic work.
way more interesting guy than 90% of colbert's guests. "i used to boogie back in the day"
loved that part
Way more interesting than Colbert!
Has to be without doubt one of the GREATEST shows ever made. He deserved a Grammy for his performance he put in.
Such a great actor, and SO much more than just Omar. Rest in peace.
All in the game, yo! All in the game...
Mattias Ahlsén You Either Play Or Get Played
😭 RIP the greatest character on the greatest show ever made.
I think your absolutely right
It would have been so funny if the audience ran off the set after he walked-in. 🤣🤣🤣
@Amir damn right everybody ran from omar whilst literally screaming "yo omar coming" 😂
money aint got no ownerss, only spenders
I like that ring too.. boy get me confused when a man repeats himself 🤐

MKW...one of the Best actors ever !!!!🥰 This man is simply Awesome.
Omar and Bubbles were my favorites.
"I don't see no sweat on your brow, neither, bruh"
Even if I miss I can't miss
Drop your laundry
Omar's hairline trying hard to match Poot's.
Heman Roczko I'm weakkkkkkkkk
Lol
Lol damn why
That's cold, but Poot's hairline is on another level.
Will W that goes down in history
Michael is still so underrated. He needs more attention!! He's one of the greats.
You must have me confused with a man that repeats hisself....
Best thing about the show.
RIP
I know he was amazing as Omar on the Wire and Chalky on Boardwalk.. but my favourite role of his was on Community. He was like the sensible guy who was like "wtf is going on at this school? This shit is too much." He's a great comedic actor.
Seriously, his comedy chops are amazing, just like Jonathan Banks in that show. SUPER intense dudes playing deadpan funny, it was fantastic
He's fantastic in Hap and Leonard. Anyone who appreciates his acting should definitely check that show out.
And "Boardwalk Empire" :0 He is so awesome!
i tried to watch boardwalk empire, it just started off to slow. i might try it again tho...
MachineGunMouth oh man you GOTTA stick to it - it's slow at first I give you that but it gets real deep and it's got some serious dialogue and cunning characters in it. Mr Williams puts in yet another stellar performance
"Even if I miss I can't miss"
“You come at the king, you best not miss”
He’s absolutely incredible in the wire and really good in boardwalk too.
I LOVED his character 'Omar' on The Wire. Loved it!!! The Wire was an extremely fascinating show
He was such a beautiful soul and so down to earth. The world is in a worse place now that he's not here to help us
Omar was one hell of a cowboy, everybody’s bad ass anti hero who had a heart
RIP Michael K. Williams!!
My God , his portrayal of Omar is one hell of a performance.... 🔥🙏
What a lovely humble soul omg.
The cheese stands alone
yeah
lol that clip brought me here too
Did his unc real dirty tho
One of the few characters where you cant imagine the actor being his own person. He is his character
RIP King. You are missed by many.
Thank goodness. I thought he was going to have a British accent also lol. Just finished the wire
one of the best series on HBO omar is one bad and scary dude keep playing those roles bro you nailed it!!!
Rest in power 🙏🏾
band should have played farmer in the dell
If the band did, it would have cleared out the studio.
@@amp12345amp Omar never put no gun on no one that wasn't isn't the game. Man gots to have a code.
Underrated responses, fellas. Bravo!
I always thought he was whistling "A Hunting We Will Go" until I watched The Wire with closed captioning because my ma is hard of hearing now.
@@billt8504 he patterned it after Elmer Fudd.
R.i.p. to Michael K Williams. Smh I was binge watching the wire when I found out.
Love him 🥰
Sorry he passed
He was unquestionably superb as Omar, but I absolutely LOVED him as Chalky White. "Well, I ain't building no bookcase..."
He kept it real and I respect that
RIP KING .👑🕊
The house band doing "We're a Winner" for the intro is making my head explode!! Love that
People call him Omar in the streets. I want to know if they ever yell "Omar coming!" And run away :)
I wanna know when he's having sex and about to bust, does he repeat, "Omar's coming, Omar's coming, yo"?
@@KtotheG yuck
@@Moishe555 I must've been high when I wrote that. I feel ashamed now.
@@KtotheG It's all good, man. I laughed
It would be a more fun intro if Stephen started yelling *"Omar is coming!"* 😂✌🏻
Yeah, it would be awesome to attempt to typecast Williams and fuck up his career. Anything to make things more "fun". Your entertainment is the only thing that matters!
everytime he says anything all I hear is, "it's all in the game"
Notice the phone ringing at 1:43
lol he looked pissed for a second
talking about Omar brought some old mannerisms up lol
Carolina Sousa you
Payphones only yo
he thought five o was comin thats why he turned
I love that he almost slips up at 2:58 and catches himself just in time.
BEST NOT MISS
shouldn't have interrupted him when he was talking about 'the lines got blurred', could have been interesting
I swear sometimes I want to punch those TV hosts in the mouth, dude couldn't resist interrupting him to make that lame joke while he is answering the freakin question !
I know! He was going to speak on how he got into drugs and etc. in the beginning smh I wanted to hear his take on that
Rest In Peace legend
Top Ten TV character all-time
He is very talented I've been a huge fan from day one very few actors has the range he does
Straight up. one of my favorite actors of all time!
"Something with a tie."
"Nope."
Also Chalky White.
He was brilliant in that show
Rest in paradise brother true legend ✊✊🤝
By far the best character on The Wire
Thankful af that this vid crossed my algo. Thanks Skynet. RIP MKW.
That must happen for a lot of actors where they get so deep into their role especially for years that it starts to unknowingly creep into their lives.
oh this my man right here michael k williams the wire straight up! and stephen colbert i watch him faithfully every single night! stephen colbert is thee best late night talk show host ever say what! in 2019 forever!
I like how he tried to but couldn't contain his smile as they cheered at the beginning.
