  • This is a deep bite case with lots of unnecessary movements and incorrect attachments to predictably correct the lower anterior. But, just changing the attachments won't get the job done. Watch and learn!

Is there a benefit to auto-resolving heavy contacts? The posterior occlusion is not 100% controllable with aligners. By introducing intrusion/extrusion movements, could you be increasing the risk of non-tracking / aligners not gripping teeth well?

I don't like auto-resolving contacts because the software will move teeth in ANY direction to do this... regardless if it is a biomechanically possible movement or not. Overall, the feature is more "feel good" than clinically helpful. *** REMEMBER: The ClinCheck is NOT a view of how the patient will actually finish. It is a model of how the aligners will be made. *** And, yes, introducing more intrusion and extrusion in the posterior is increasing unpredictable movements.
