Hayden’s voice perfectly captures the pain that is in my own heart. I may not be able to adequately describe it, but I am incredibly grateful for his music. I wish him and all of the rest of you nothing but peace and prosperity in the coming year.
this hits scary close to home, one again thank you to hayden for making me feel something. always reassuring to know im not alone, and someone i relate too has made it thru!
I've been wondering where he's been, glad to see him on the strings again. He's got so much talent, it's really a shame seeing him fade in and out of that dark place. I guess there's a fine line between dark and too dark, and you've gotta ride the line to deliver such deep lyrics and sound like on Nicotine and China White. Daffodil and Michigan Rose will always be some of my favorite songs, and I really hope we get to hear more of you, Hayden.
Awesome song, Hayden! Glad to see you clean for so long and releasing new songs! Congratulations! I still listen to "Nicotine & China White" and all your other songs on a regular basis. Keep going, brother!
Capo on the 2nd fret. The song starts on a walk up to the C. Hayden uses walk ups/downs for a lot of the chord changes. Listen to the song to get those down.
[VERSE 1] C Well low and behold Am I’m on the needle again F What a god dammed joke G Another song about dope C That’s how pathetic I am
C So always do what your told Am Don’t ever piss in the wind F Don’t ever gorge upon grief G Don’t strip your own tree C Lest you end up like me
[CHORUS] Am Well I’ve been dreaming Dm F Bout a color not quite like blood C Fillin up my lungs E7 Chasing death like a settin sun Am And I’m scheming F C Hocking diamonds made of glass G And the things that fell from trucks all help build E The kingdom of ash F Till the wheels fall off Dm G There’s no getting off this track C Guaranteed to owe your money back(?)
Am F G C
[VERSE 2] C Now low and behold Am The walls are closing in fast F What a god damned mess G On the laurels I rest C some make believe past
C And all the tales I’ve sold Am To feed in this appetite F Have finally run their course G Depleted all of my stores C Last flickers of light
[CHORUS] Am But I been dreaming Dm F Bout a color not quite like blood C/G Fillin up my lungs E Chasing death like a settin sun Am And I’m reeling F C From the bile in my mouth G E7 Repercussions spent in coughing fits with tears that flood the ground F If you don’t keep afloat Dm G You’re surely gonna drown C sink into the nowhere to be found
Am F G C
[VERSE 3] C Well low and behold Am I’m in the city of tents F And I’m trapped in the fog G Like a cement bog (?) C Steady blowing my rent (? Hard to make out these last two lines) C And if you ever seen Am A man as hollowed out as I F What a god damned shame G The trouble sure came C Such an idiots price
[CHORUS] Am But I been dreaming Dm F Bout a color not quite like blood C/G Filling up my lungs E Chasing death like a setting sun Am And I’m leaving F C Once my ships at least in sight C/G For the golden hands of foreign lands(?) E7 Where no creatures prowl the night F When your lips go blue Dm G No spray will set you right G You just close your eyes C And float into the light.

If he's sees this 11 months is huge man (12 now?). If my experience was normal it takes about 12000 tries but that last one feels pretty good on the other side
Beautifully broken❤ Congrats on 11 months and that raw talent!
