Man it’s great to hear from this dude! I’ve been listening to him for so many years. I wish him well. The guy is more talented than 90% of the artists occupying the airwaves. The crazy thing is he’s helped me stay sober for more than eight years. Stay strong, brother.
@derekgladden5200 Thanks for the comment, but I relapsed and drank a bottle of vodka 3 nights ago😭. My sponsor said, "ok, you slipped. It's your choice to fall forward or backwards ."
@@TYPHON2713 don’t beat yourself up. Follow your sponsors advice and and jump right back in to your sobriety. You got this brother! I believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself.
As an addict who recently relapsed, i hugely appreciate his honesty. I thought i was a lost cause because ive been to rehab 7 times and I havent changed anything when I get out. His words spoke to me and I'm going back to rehab with my head held high
Just gotta keep telling yourself “Not today. Maybe tomorrow, but definitely not today” before you know it you’ll be consumed with other things in life.
Hayden, you are one of the best damn songwriters out there. You have given us all something special to add to the experience of our lives. Take care of yourself man, you deserve it.
It's comforting to hear HCD talk about drug addiction and sobriety. Lost my best friend of nearly 30 years on Christmas day last year. He'd been sober and clean for a few years but after a few bad weeks fell back into his comforting bad habits. Just wish he'd have called me to vent instead. Still doesn't feel real and I'm tired of burying friends and family.
Been sober 8 years, lost my brother in November …. Lost a lot more than that over the years, but this one is the worst… we all grew up in it, didn’t know any better til it was too late
I took a few months of guitar lessons from Hayden and I will say he legit is one of the nicest most talented guys I’ve ever talked to. I wish him absolutely nothing but the best. This man deserves it
So stoked to get more music with a hopeful message post addiction from him. My fav modern songwriter. I have 4 years clean off dope today and I’ve been covering his songs a lot lately, the lyrics still resonate with my past self and part of me that will always be there, but I can’t wait to hear him use his incredible talent to reflect on all that after making it out the other side ❤️
"It's a burden to know what heroin feels like." Ain't that the truth... been sober just over 5 years now and still wake up some days just wanting that feeling so that I don't have to feel the rest of the day. It's a lifelong battle to stay sober and it's good to see Hayden starting down a path to recovery. Thanks for the insight and the music HCD, life is worth it, keep on truckin on the road to recovery man.
favorite artist to ever grace this earth and imo one of the best songwriters of all time. hayden has been getting me thru what might be my lowest of lows. glad hes well, ill be there one of these days. also if any of you 6 string wizards read this and got a big heart on em, id love a tutorial for leahs song. them embellishments are just so damn pretty.
Welcome back! Good to hear you again & see you in a better place in your life. I’ve been sober for 97 days & I can tell you it’s not easy but having your music around helps. One day at a time 😊
Fantastic singer and guitar player. For what little it may mean, I'm proud of you and sobriety. Thank you for sharing your talents and your experiences.
Hayden's songwriting has gotten me through some of my heaviest moments for years of my life--rooting for him and grateful to see him doing well/ feeling optimistic. Thanks for creating space for his compelling art and sharing it with us in such a heartfelt & genuine way.
Thanks for putting this out. Hayden’s performances have been some of the most compelling on your channel. Here’s hoping for his continued sobriety, well-being and the recognition as a songwriter that he deserves. Peace.
Love this. Was lucky enough to see Hayden play at gems. You think his music touches you on record- go hear him live. It's amazing. So happy and excited to see where his journey takes him. He has so much talent and the nicest guy
Have loved this channel for so many years. Proud of y'all. Hayden, its been years since spring 2021 when we last spoke. Hope you've been doing your best. Glad I was a guninea pig for the medication made possible for myself and folks like us to have an alternative to what was being offered. Much love to this community. Cheers.
Was in a band with Hayden in our late teens. He played circles around the rest of us even back then. Cheers to your sobriety and continued success brother.
What a coincidence I posted a video with Hayden’s song in it. Hayden you’re a real musician I love your playing and voice i can feel the emotion in the songs you sing❤
Amazing stuff as always yall. Thanks Hayden for the great tunes. I really enjoyed this and the Gems show recently. You sound awesome. Hope to see yall soon.
I really enjoyed the stuff Hayden did as Copperhead Dale for the Gems in the Rough contests. Its good to see some of that lightheartedness come out in his regular music. It suits him. Still wish he hadn't taken down The Best Things In Life Are Free from the Copperhead Dale channel.

So, he's always taking about being in rehab (very open about it) but I still don't understand, is he in for alcohol or meth or what...? What exactly is he in rehab for, what is he doing when not making music? And I'm asking because he openly mentions it but still not exactly for what, so if you're gonna tell me to shut up just move on.

I hear you. I've been sober for almost 10 years but most of my old friends never stopped. More than a few are in the ground now.

Soooo glad he sober now 💚... hope his career, or whatever serves him the most, blossoms like it is destined to now.
I love this guy. I found his music in my worst days and now that I'm in a better place it makes me happy to see him yet again but on a brighter note.

Man I’d love to see him live. Hope he makes it out to Phoenix one day or I find myself somewhere he’s performing
So glad you’re sober and doing well. Your music has become a staple to me. I love your music and I thank you for sharing it with us.
November was the worst hell month I've had in years & this just made it all better
Congratulations to Hayden on his sobriety.
Great songs, wonderfully performed.

Man…that second song was a tear jerker. My dude has such a wonderful way of writing songs. Pure poetry.
Man both of those new songs are incredibly moving. Leah’s Song made me cry holy shit Hayden
Glad to see him well. First song was incredible. Not surprised even a little bit.
Man! Even his "joke" song is incredible! Hayden good job man!

Stay up. Stay up. It can get better. Hayden’s songwriting got me through some ruff spots in life. Life is often shit but we can stay hopeful.
So happy to see you well ❤
Freaking love Hayden’s songs.. seeing Lost Dog tonight in Cincinnati, wish he was opening!!
epic. always impressed by the hill country devil.
❤ this guy.. so good to see him evolve. Never been punched so hard in the chest by song lyrics. 🎵
That second song was deeply emotional, and unfortunately, relatable.
Leah's Song is legitimately one of the prettiest pieces of music I've heard in a long while.
One last song about dope is so deep and personal. What a great song! One day at a time…
so grateful for both of you amazing humans
Dude looks 10 years younger. Good to see him not on death's door.
Goddamn Hayden, I damn near spit my drink out when you mentioned the dumpster behind Little Ceasars hahaha
Oh man, blast from the past, good to see you and Harland Williams in the same video
Hey country devil, this is the last time I drink after I saw this video, I'm waiting for ya to lead brother your a fuckin leader, love you guy.

One last song about dope might be my favorite song I’ve ever heard
I would give anything for Hayden, Casper, Heckler, and Tod to come to Syracuse, NY. I'm too old to travel for shows anymore and it makes me sad.
Love this man’s songs. Are these getting released anywhere?
Tremendous music,.
Would you be able to separate out the songs and upload them to the channel just as they are? They're both fantastic.
Love him!!
Omg so glad i searched you tn
Hell yea brother.
Will there ever be vinyl?
This video made me want to get sober for real this time

I fucking love you so fucking much. You are my favorite musician. If I ever have a child I will name him after you. No lie

he says it in the interview if you listen. it's also all over his music.
