I love that you posted this! I hope she gets a lot of orders!! I feel so badly for her. I’m so glad she has tik tok as an outlet!! She’s incredibly brave!
Ashleys trial date is October 16, 2023. She does have a "stand your ground court date July 6/7, 2023, but stand your ground trials are usually never won in criminal cases.
@@Whowantlasagna since she said the only person she feels sorry for is Eva I think that raises some questions. No her dad didn’t keep his promise but he didn’t deserve to be killed and I’m sure that what Kendall means by nice comments, she didn’t direct her comment towards to step mom. She directed it towards her dad that was not in the right but was also murdered. Also there is another child to feel sorry for too. I would think step mom is the only one to not feel sorry for. Yes I feel bad for Eva but also I feel sorry for her little sister and their dad that was murdered. I think that is where Law is coming from also.
I was 15 when my real father brought home a 20 year old girlfriend. That in itself is a very confusing situation to go through. But months after the death of her mother? Not telling her they were getting married after 13 freaking days?! Just heartbreaking to think about. Ashley sounds like she's freaking bananas tbh. My thoughts are with Eva and i truly hope she's doing OK.
I was 17 when i had my first and 19 when I had my second. My oldest is a girl and I have ALWAYS been very strict about not dating below my age because I find it freakin weird that I could legally have a partner who is in her dating pool or worse one of her friends! That would be horrible to do to her and so awkward! I am so sorry this happened with your dad! I know some ppl just like younger partners and you can't always control who you fall for, but I could never forgive myself if I had been with someone my daughter had been interested in or worse, with!!! She is only 21 now but age of consent here is 16 and while to my knowledge her boyfriends have always been her age, but its still just a no go area for me. Our kids may go through a phase of "hating" us but there are certain things that can cause a complete loss of trust and respect and I imagine this would be it!
@@Mercel29dude wtf. Just stop bullying people. She’s talking about her life. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean she needs to live her life in total shame. It’s 2023 grow up.
Can’t get over how astonishingly selfish Doug was. How he could expose his grieving daughter, to someone who was a stranger to the both of them after only 13 days is beyond me. Greatest sympathy to Eva
It's easy to understand men like him; his previous bang maid died so needed a new one and he upgraded to a hot new model. Men who often marry fast after the death of a spouse do so because they need someone to do all the gendered tasks they don't want to do; cooking, cleaning, s*x.
dude was mesmerized by young p*ssy he hadnt had in 30 yrs... im his age, i wouldnt date someone that young. lots of religious conservatives are secretly creeps
I saw a TikTok video of the daughter telling her story months ago and I couldn’t believe it when I watched this video and realized it’s the same case. Eva seems like such a sweet girl and it’s so tragic she’s had to go through so much loss and trauma. I hope she’s okay.
Eva is such a strong person. I couldn’t imagine finding my mom passed away.. on top of everything else she’s gone through.. btw Eva if you read this, your mom was so beautiful!
Yes, her mother looked like a refined Southern lady who would have put her family first and would have doted on her beautiful daughter. And, yes, I grew up in a Southern home in an upper middle class neighborhood with a beautiful mother. My parents were fortunate to die also of natural causes but late in life and less than a year apart.
My heart breaks for Eva, it really does. The poor decisions her father made literally left her alone now without her father for the rest of her life. He should have protected that, he should have been there for her still. I pray that justice will be served and Eva will get some form of peace.
My heart breaks for Eva and all she has had to endure. Kendall, I would like to respectfully echo what other commenters have said about abuse. Ashley may have killed Doug in cold blood. But when discussing this case it is important to not gloss over his abusive behavior, heaven forbid a young person hears it and thinks that a partner shooting a gun during an argument is just a red flag and not actually abuse. I know it's extremely hard and painful to recognize abusive behaviors, especially when they come from someone you love and trust. But it is so important that we understand abusive behavior so we can get out if our partner starts displaying it.
i have absolutely nothing nice to say about doug so i won’t say anything at all. my heart breaks for eva and i wish her nothing but health and healing and love for the rest of her life. i hope she is surrounded by people who finally put her and her needs first, and by people who truly care about her.
I hope she goes to trial soon. Letting her roam free is just absolutely a spit in the face to Eva and other family members. I wish them the best and hope that one day, they get justice.
Ffwd: She's just lying on the stand. Idt the prosecution laid out a strong case tho. Without knowing a backstory (as this vid) idk if the jury will convict her ... maybe they saw thru Ashley's act
Last Thursday I had to help my 20 year old kitty named, Koosh, cross over the rainbow bridge. She was very old and had kidney failure. She was ready to go but man, losing a pet is so rough. I don't think Ashley or anything about this case is like Black Swan at all but it's horrible on so many levels. I can't fathom what Eva has been through.
@@Nopenonameok Kendall does mention other people call this case that in the beginning. I assume the title is meant for the people who are aware of this case and know it by that name
I don’t want to hurt Eva even more if she reads this, but I have to say…Eva you deserved better. Your father did not protect you as he should have, and then having him be murdered as well without ever coming to resolution over such a betrayal…the trauma you’ve endured is immense. I hope you have love and support around you, I hope you find a good therapist and have healing.
There seems to be so much focus on the father remarrying, as if that is somehow more worthy of comment than him being murdered. If a woman was murdered by her new husband, I doubt people would focus on her choice of marrying rather than the crime of the husband.
@@greywolf7577well if he didn’t marry someone that was 30+ years younger than him after THIRTEEN DAYS of meeting them he’d still be alive. He seemed abusive and didn’t prioritise his daughter - he prioritised his little play thing. Good riddance to him.
@@greywolf7577Exactly! People have betrayed people in worse ways. He shouldn't have infact, hastily sworn to never date let alone, remarry. Almost looks like he didn't know his own self and the realities of life. And yes, he shouldn't have remarried in such a hurry and that too to such a young woman, but, breaking a promise to his daughter was not such a cardinal sin as it is being made out to be!
@@greywolf7577he got karma. His "wife" shouldn't even be sentenced... And you just have to bring 'but if it was a woman" bs, y'all males always looking for attention poor you boo hoo.. Smh
I guess what gets me is that Ashley was obviously very familiar with guns, but she didn't aim for body mass, she hit him in the arm and the leg. The fact that he died was not guaranteed based on where she shot him, and that really points more towards self defense. Not to mention that there is evidence of abuse - shooting a gun into the ceiling is extremely abusive and would reasonably make anyone fear for their life and safety. I understand that Eva is in a ton of pain, losing both of her parents suddenly at such a young age is devastating, and I hate to say it because I'm sure she doesn't want to see her dad as anything but the perfect father (trust me, realizing your parents are not good people is rough), but it honestly doesn't sound like he was a good father either. First, he swore that he wouldn't get remarried and that he would focus on raising his daughter who had to find her own mother's dead body, but with a few months he's remarried to a woman who isn't even 10 years older than his daughter. He left her alone all of the time to travel (and just because she says she was ok with that doesn't mean that it's actually ok, we all know that we believed we were ok with things as teenagers that in retrospect were unacceptable), he got his vasectomy reversed and impregnated a woman he barely knew and a woman who he knew for a fact didn't get along with his existing child, then proceeded to chase this woman over thither and yon instead of being at home with his daughter. Then, before he died, he was going to move across the country away from his daughter because he was still chasing a woman who is less than a decade older than his child and feeding into a toxic relationship instead of, again, focusing on his child. We're talking about a man in his 50s here. That is some pretty awful parenting, and I'm saying that as a person who experienced their only parent choosing to chase a new relationship and new family at the expense of their existing one. If he wasn't dead, people would be pretty quick to call him out on his bad parenting. I don't know. It feels like there is a lot missing here, but Ashley's story isn't that unbelievable to me. I'm always really suspicious when people say, "He absolutely isn't the type of person to be abusive", especially when they gloss over the whole shooting a gun in a house to intimidate his wife in the presence of his already traumatized daughter who he betrayed in the worst possible way. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I think he's one of those people who don't like to be alone. He grabbed onto the first person who looked at him for more than a second. I feel so bad for Eva.
I’m not surprised she was so young. No one who was older or had children of her own though would marry someone within 13 days of meeting. I don’t get why Doug thought Eva would see someone so young as a parental figure though, especially as I’m sure she wasn’t even ready to have someone like that step into her life in that role.
Firing a gun during an argument is abusive, point blank. The threat of injury or death whether verbal or perceived through witnessing a partner’s actions can be psychologically traumatizing. Ashley sounds like a piece of work herself but that doesn’t excuse what happened during their argument, even if it was only the one time.
To me it is possible that there was some kind of abuse both ways - I mean it is a red flag for a ”stepmother” to be jealous and compete with the daughter and there were other shady things from Ashleys side that could be an indication of mental abuse or manipulation. I do however think that firing a gun during an argument is a huge red flag and sign of abuse. Personally I believe that them getting married so fast was also a sign of how toxic their relationship was, and it is an indicator that there was possibly love bombing in the beginning of the relationship. But in the end nobody knows what happened within the relationship except for the people who were in it, and it is easy to judge from the outside.
Mutual abuse is so rare its debated if it's even real. In intimate partner violence, there is an abuser (the dominant aggressor) and a victim (secondary aggressor). Most victims of abuse do fight back or act 'violently' towards their abuser. They're still victims. Please please read up on academic research into intimate partner abuse, so little people are educated on what abuse is/looks like.
@@valkyriedarquese This was just my thoughts from what was brought up in the video, not facts or scientific research. I do know a lot about abusive relationships from both personal experiences and my studies - wrote my bachelors degree about violence towards women and it is actually a subject very close to my heart. If what was brought up in this video was correct, there was abusive behavior from both of them. There can still be a victim of abuse. But as I stated, nobody can tell for sure what happened between them and in the end only they know.
@@nordictruecrime I have a bachelors and masters in Criminology and intimate partner violence was my specialist area. I know what I'm talking about. Abusive behaviour from a victim is not actually abuse, its a response to abuse. Equally abusive partners are so rare it doesn't happen. Victims should not be labelled as equally abusive, its terrible to do that to them and also doesn't acknowledge the reality of abuse. Nobody knows exactly what went down when he died, but from the one 100% proven instance of abuse, he was abusive. A significantly older man went after a younger woman, married her fast and started abusing her. It's a tale as old as time
@@YourMom4069 1) he wasn't a good father to Eva. Abandoning your daughter for your new hot younger wife is gross. 2) she either was mentally ill since she was so insistent that he was poisoning them/sexually abusing the daughter, or she did what she thought she had to in order to stop her abuser having access to her daughter. Abusers often get custody of children despite a history of abuse against the mother - maybe she thought by claiming he was sexually abusing her it would prevent him having access to her.
As a former ballerina myself, this case is CRAZY!!! I remember hearing about this company, but had literally NO idea about the rest of the story….I hope that Eva is doing alright. She’s so incredibly strong for talking about everything and sharing her story💗
I understand wanting to be respectful to the victims and in this case Eva, knowing she has been through more than she should’ve and i hope her journey to healing is going well for her. But to gloss over her father being abusive because who in their right mind shoots a gun at the ceiling??? Marries right after and doesn’t even tell his daughter about it either. Yeah I don’t know.
Yea i cant help but think that there was some kind of underlying mental health issue with him. So sad. I really hope that Eva finds peace, happiness & success

@@melissajacobs5822 Why would you assume the underlying mental health issue was with him? How do you know whether or what A.B.'s mental health diagnosis or diagnoses might be? Maybe A.B. convinced him it would be easier to tell Miss Eva about the marriage after the fact because A.B. did not want Miss Eva's feelings to delay the nuptials or maybe A.B. gave him an ultimatum. We won't know until the evidence is presented at the trial, and even then it will be only the evidence the judge rules is admissible as more probative than prejudicial. What if A.B. waives a jury trial because she believes she can charm a male judge? What if A.B. uses all her peremptory (a strike used to remove a prospective juror without having to articulate a reason) strikes to keep women off the jury?
This is definitely a cautionary tale of not getting involved or married before knowing the person. I hope Eve is ok and moves on with her life but loosing one parent is hard ( I lost my dad in 2021 and I am already 46) but both within a span of 3 years is horrible. My love goes to Eva. My dad chose someone over me as well. So painful to go through when young and maturing. It feels like a betrayal and it becomes difficult to trust. Your father was correct in that promise. Wise. Thoughtful. I'm sorry that he didn't keep that promise to you. My heart goes out to Eva and her family. This young girl had to endure more than anyone should have to. 💔 My heart also hurts for the toddler brought into such a mess, she lost both parents in an instant before she was even old enough to know them.

My father married a 22 year old secretary and didn’t tell me neither. I found out from a friend of mine because she heard rumors. She was an absolute gold digger. Hate her til this day, we don’t have contact anymore, she was the most horrible stepmother ever
My heart really goes out to Eva… shortly after my parent’s divorce, my dad was in this incredibly toxic, on again/off again relationship that was way to much like Doug and Ashley. Thankfully he finally ended it for good and I don’t have to worry about that situation anymore. I will definitely be checking out Eva’s store and supporting her💜
It is extremely hard for me to believe Doug wasn’t abusive except for the one single time that he shot a gun during an argument. A person can be abusive solely to their spouse but not to their children, & vice versa. His murder was so unwarranted & unnecessary, two daughters now don’t have their father & his life shouldn’t have been taken. They obviously shouldn’t have been together & it’s tragic that neither of them were willing to see the signs & end it. I hope this goes to trial asap & I feel so awful for his daughters, especially since they’re separated. What a tragedy all around.
I think he might have been, it’s odd how obsessed he was with her, but Ashley also lied about being poisoned, and I’m pretty sure she lied about him abusing his own kids. I think it was a mutually mentally abusive relationship. It’s unfortunate that two girls now have neither parents because these two adults couldn’t stay away from each other.
He seems like he made every poor decision he could make and firing a gun into a ceiling is a dangerous overreaction. And could be considered threats so a form of emotional abuse. But I do question the rest of the claims from Ashley because it seems she was also prone to lying about the first wife being killed by him, and saying she was being poisoned by him when no doctor could find proof of it. And pulling weird stunts by reading the daughters diary, asking him to reverse his vasectomy. (Very Jan from the office.) That could also be seen as going after his money by getting her kid in the picture. But I do agree that he made terrible choices thinking only with his you-know-what, by marrying someone 30 years younger, after only knowing her 13 days?? Insanity. Grief can do things to the brain but I can’t imagine being the child in that situation. No one deserves to be killed, it’s just so difficult to hear stories like this, where people keep getting drawn together like magnets, even as if self destructs. It’s so obvious it’ll never work.
@@alessandraespinoza2243 there is literally no such thing as "being abusive due to your partner". nothing and i mean NOTHING justifies abuse. also, abusers can and often do hide their abusive behaviors from others in their lives. this is such a bullshit, misogynistic way of thinking
I’m so confused by these comments. Is this your way of justifying his murder? It doesn’t really matter in the end, because she allegedly murdered him in cold blood with no defense wounds.
Right! I can't fathom that, especially as a parent with a child! If someone wants to take that risk while single, then that's just them taking that chance, but when you have a child you can't be impulsive like that. If you're considering marriage, not just dating, then you have to make sure this person will also provide a safe and stable influence in your child's life and you can't know that after two weeks, or even two months. I feel so bad for Eva. There was no need to upend her life like that.
My guess is his grief blinded his reasoning. He was afraid of being alone this the quick marriage. Let’s not forget that Ashley also took advantage of Doug in his time of grieving. No one gets married in 13 unless they have some motive.
I love how kindly you speak of the victims and their families who are left with nothing but pain and suffering, picking up the pieces. I wish peace for Eva and I wish her all the happiness life has to offer as she continues to live her life and follow her dreams. ❤❤❤
He was absolutely selfish and inconsiderate to not only start a new relationship, but to remarry only months after your daughters mother has passed. Instead of him to give his daughter all his time and care. And as others have said, shooting the gun in the ceiling to intimidate.. deff abusive.
As someone who is dealing with some trauma as well, (Nothing close to what Eva went through) i'm completely in awe of her. She is such a strong person, i can't even imagine dealing with all of that at such a young age. And having to deal with all the legal matters that come with it. My heart and prayers truely go out to her.
After losing my Mom the only "Mother figure" I would want would be a Grandmother or Aunt, not some random 24 year old. If I was 15 I would have treated that woman like crap! What a betrayal from her Dad. That poor girl 😢
They were both toxic, Doug was in his 50’s and grieving so he rushed to get married but Ashley is a an absolute sicko for making false accusations of child abuse and being jealous of his freaking daughter Wtf ! People should point fingers at her more than at him !
Hopefully the jurors will... he may have been whatever, but she did not meet the legal elements of self defense. She's a known liar, not sure why anybody believes her story about the murder
Firing a gun in anger is absolutely telling, not to mention dangerous. My family and I have fired a gun (at a safe target) for relaxation and even celebration... But always knowing where our bullet will be going. You can't know that if you're shooting into the air, particularly in a *house!* FYI, my family and I live in Charleston County, South Carolina.
If a woman fired a gun in the air, a lot of people would say "maybe she was defending herself". Why is it that people are more likely to view the man's actions as abusive than a woman who does the same thing?
@@GenXfrom75 Ashley, who walked around with a gun in her bra, shot the gun and was screaming she would go to jail so he took the rap for her. Ashley was verbally and physically abusive towards Doug and Eva. She failed her pysch evaluations

There were so many red flags with Ashley. Doug was obsessed with having a young trophy wife and so was willing to put up with anything. If only he cared as much about Eva or having appropriate relationships with women his own age. Reminds me of Anthony Bourdain.

I've seen Black Swan - beautiful and eerie psychological horror movie, where you're never sure if you're in a weird, dark faery tale or if you're seeing things through the eyes of a dancer undergoing a slow break with reality, resulting in her attacking a suspected rival. There's similarities between this case and the movie, but it's certainly not a one to one comparison.
Omg I literally was looking for this comment. I began typing but I don't like leaving comments so I would look for a comment similar to what I want to say and like it and respond.
This is such an unfortunate case. It sounds as if Dough rushed into a marriage because he was grieving. He thought Ashley could fill that void and maybe he was afraid of being alone. This case is an important reminder to always take time for yourself after a breakup, divorce or death because evil people feed off of the vulnerable.
exactly. that was the first thing that i thought when kendall said he got married after days! crazy but also not as much when u think of what he was probably going through grieving his wife

Whoever is reading this: if your intimate partner fires a gun when you're arguing, it is more than just "not okay", it is abusive behavior and you have reason to fear for your life. I'm honestly quite disappointed about Kendall's take on this. Even brandishing a weapon mid-fight is threatening behavior and evidence of abuse. Eta: spelling
Couldn't agree more! Firing a gun during an argument is more than enough for someone to fear for their life - and I highly doubt that was the only instance of abuse. I understand wanting to be respectful to Eva, but this video should not have been made if she was not able to speak about it honestly.
Clearly Doug was in the depths of grief making the decisions he did. Also, being in his mid fifties, he was most likely afraid he would be alone forever and Eva would be grown and gone in just a few years. I truly hope that Eva has a good support system and her business is thriving❣️

My heart goes out to Eva. I can’t even imagine what she’s going through after everything that’s happened. I had to put up with my mother dragging me through all of her toxic relationships when I was a kid. She has always chose whatever guy she was dating over me. They always moved extremely fast. She’s about to marry a guy on the 3rd that she hasn’t even been dating for 2 months and they’ve been engaged since like a week into dating and he moved in at the same time. She hasn’t even told me yet. She let me find out from everyone else. And her last marriage was the same way and I only found out after she got married. That time I found out from Facebook. They said I love you right from the jump. They only went out for coffee twice before all of this. There have been so many red flags and she just ignores each one when my 18 year old brother, 16 year old sister and 13 year old sister are living with her. Makes me so nervous and mad because I see the red flags. My advice to anyone (especially people with children) don’t rush into these things. Take your time. Make sure you get to know someone for a while before you introduce your children to someone you’re seeing let alone move them in. Anyone can put on a front and pretend to be someone they’re not. Whether it’s for a few weeks, a few months, or even a year. This is a cycle for my mother unfortunately and so all of us kids have grown up thinking it’s normal and healthy. Now I’m trying to teach my brother and sisters it’s not normal and healthy. It seems to me that Ashley had a plan. She wanted to use Doug. And I think she called cys to try to have Eva removed from the home so she wasn’t around. I think she knew exactly what she was doing when she made all of those false allegations. I don’t think she actually believed any of the allegations she made up. And that letter she left him when she initially left just seems really scripted so she could claim she had evidence when she needed to. That’s all just my opinion though. I really wish Eva the very best.❤

Hey Kendall, I love your content so much! I love how kind and passionate you are to the victims and their families. My UA-cam auto played this video for me. I just looked up Ashley’s trial to see if there have been any updates and saw an article from 12 hours ago (Tuesday, July 30, 2024) saying that she was found guilty of manslaughter. Her sentencing date has still not been released, but this would be a good updates video! I’d love to hear about the trial, the evidence they found on her, why she was found guilty of manslaughter instead of murder, sentencing, etc. Thank you for always giving these victims a voice ❤️

I wonder if you think it’s false…. or that this was a domestic violence victim just like anyone else who was afraid for their life and defended themselves when being attacked. All that you are saying is that this women’s voice should be silenced even though there are straight facts that she and her daughter were victims of abuse. It seems like you are the one setting us back here. Have a heart for goodness sake.
Oh my goodness. How could her father have done such a thing?! Shame on him. I will buy something from her. Her father does not seem like a very good man in the end. Not paying his life insurance policy and giving all his money to a stranger over his daughter. Heartbreaking!
This case reminds me a lot of my relationship with my father and stepmother (who i cut ties with bc it was just so unhealthy). Condolences and best wishes for Eva. Also, this case is nothing like the superb movie, “Black Swan”. There’s really no connection other than ballet.
Wow I can’t imagine what Eva has been through since her mom passed, to her dad getting married, the their toxic relationship, to now losing her dad at the hands of someone they never really knew. I hope she gets the justice and peace she deserves.
I am on the fence on this case because having covered True Crimes for some time, I have realized that it can be tricky when it comes to marital or dating deaths. Nothing is mostly as it seems.
Before Ashley accused him of murdering the wife, I did pause. He chose a girl 30+ years his junior and married her in less than two weeks. Maybe they were having an affair. I just… iiiiiidk. 🥴
@@sarab3417 yeah… now I’m wanting to find out more. What if he did murder his wife. And if I was Ashley and wasn’t being believed, and then he won partial custody of my daughter… I’m not sure what lengths I’d go to protect her
I’m just shocked this has been labeled as the Black Swan Murder. What the hell does this case have to do with the movie other than Ashley being a ballerina?!?!
I agree with you. However, I think I understand why people refer to this case as the “Black Swan murder.” In the movie “Black Swan,” the main character is Nina, a ballerina striving for perfection. The film focuses on Nina’s rehearsals for the production of “Swan Lake,” where she plays the lead role. However, when another character, Lily, is also chosen and given a prominent role in the production, Nina becomes instantly jealous of her. This jealousy intensifies because Nina notices that Lily possesses positive qualities she lacks. Due to Nina’s perfectionism and the growing tension between them, their relationship becomes strained throughout the film, leading to Nina stabbing Lily towards the end. Now, let’s connect this to why people may mention the movie “Black Swan” in this case. I believe Ashley shares similarities with Nina, as she feels inferior to Eva in her relationship with Doug. This feeling of inferiority and overbearing jealousy ultimately drives Ashley to kill Doug, mirroring Nina’s attempted act toward Lily in the film. Thus, the reference to the “Black Swan” movie arises due to the parallels in the themes of jealousy and its tragic consequences in both scenarios. Hopefully, this explanation makes sense.
I think it's only the ballerina connection. There is no murder in the Black Swan movie at all, just main character thinking she harmed her rival, but she never really did.
I’m not sure thats what media and other creators have called it, I haven’t seen it myself so I’m not sure there was much of a reason it was called this. Are you a big fan? Profile pic lol

She did shoot him in his arm and leg though. If you are trying to kill someone, those don’t seem to be the first places you would choose. I understand the police say that there is was no proof of abuse. But….. isn’t that the case so often? I mean…. It seems like there had to be movement for those to be the places where he was shot.
@@francinesanchez5402 The arms and legs have major arteries running through them and it's VERY easy to kill someone by shooting them in the arm or leg, contrary to what you see in movies. There is no safe, potentially non-lethal place to get shot. Soldiers and police are trained to aim for center mass (the abdomen) not because it's the only lethal area, but because it's the largest target. In a confrontation where you have maybe a second to fire off a shot, aiming for the largest target is your best bet to actually hit that target.
@@francinesanchez5402 Nice try but the Prosecutors have evidence he was holding box going to the door. Also Ashleys scratch that a witness gave said she got it while packing boxes the day before.
That is awful. Did you guys get along? 20 years old is still a young adult in my mind. I am now 28 and can’t even imagine dating a 20 year old .

Thank you!
I appreciate how you said this. This one was triggering.
Well said. Eva deserved better in so many ways.

I'm a woman and I'm sick of you lot.

@Dorinda Douglas Definitely can't disagree with you. Poor Eva
I’m not surprised she was so young. No one who was older or had children of her own though would marry someone within 13 days of meeting. I don’t get why Doug thought Eva would see someone so young as a parental figure though, especially as I’m sure she wasn’t even ready to have someone like that step into her life in that role.
This entire experience sounds like a living nightmare. My heart goes out to Eva, I can’t imagine.

Exactly
Agree!
THIS
Completely agree. This behavior cannot be normalized or excused in response to a non-life threatening verbal argument.
And i was actually surprised that she said it that way like it was not a big deal
i like the “theme”i think it’s important that we take DV seriously no matter who the victim is.

@@TheNinnyfee nothing will happen if the gun isn’t shot by a person.
Ashley is obviously deranged and to suspect a now dead man, whiteout a single trace of proof of these accusations, is not ok!

They're so stupid. I won't even get in a relationship after that period cuz people are heavy on being weirdos
Even DISNEY FILMS say "don't marry someone you just met!"
@@KhanMann66Very interesting thoughts. That does seem likely. People like Ashley prey on desperate, lonely people.
I can’t imagine living thru what Eva has gone thru. My heart goes out to her.
There is nothing worse than being let down by your parent. Bless Eva's ❤️ heart
The ballerina was poisoning Doug and Eva
If a woman fired a gun in the air, a lot of people would say "maybe she was defending herself". Why is it that people are more likely to view the man's actions as abusive than a woman who does the same thing?
@@greywolf7577 I wouldn't say that. It's dangerous
@@GenXfrom75 Ashley, who walked around with a gun in her bra, shot the gun and was screaming she would go to jail so he took the rap for her. Ashley was verbally and physically abusive towards Doug and Eva. She failed her pysch evaluations
@@greywolf7577NOBODY should be shooting a gun in a house. Especially not in a marital dispute.
But a man can overpower a woman unless she has an equalizer/weapon.

Eva is an angel I saw her tiktok telling her story awhile back. I’m happy she’s creating a community now, and building a business to create a life she can be proud of. Ashley deserves nothing but the absolute worst. I pray for all the kids involved.
There were so many red flags with Ashley. Doug was obsessed with having a young trophy wife and so was willing to put up with anything. If only he cared as much about Eva or having appropriate relationships with women his own age. Reminds me of Anthony Bourdain.
Doug was the one with red flags
at this point i think we all know that fast marriages are never good
poor Eva though. she's so strong to have gone through all that. i hope she's able to find peace & happiness bc she truly deserves it
I've seen Black Swan - beautiful and eerie psychological horror movie, where you're never sure if you're in a weird, dark faery tale or if you're seeing things through the eyes of a dancer undergoing a slow break with reality, resulting in her attacking a suspected rival. There's similarities between this case and the movie, but it's certainly not a one to one comparison.
Omg I literally was looking for this comment. I began typing but I don't like leaving comments so I would look for a comment similar to what I want to say and like it and respond.
There are almost no similarities.
Poor Eva has been through so much in her young life, I hope everyone can send her love and support. What an incredibly strong girl. ❤
Seriously half of these comments are talking crap about Doug but women do this all the time.
@@DubsTV93 "women do this all the time"? check the stats dude. 61% of widowers date quickly after a spouse's death compared to 19% of widows. in the first year, 54% of widowers will hook up with another woman already, while 7% of widows will. 25% widowers remarry vs. 5% of widows
@@DubsTV93 I heard Ashley was poisoning Doug and Eva!

I found this case from his daughter posting all of the details on Tiktok... it's so wild, but I'm glad she shared her story❤
I understand wanting to be respectful to Eva, but this video should not have been made if she was not able to speak about it honestly.
thank you, im lowkey shocked at the way she presented that information
We were not there and have no idea what was going on, maybe Ashley was already playing with the gun… she was clearly deranged from the start.
@@soude85 certainly, but I'm speaking specifically to the blasé manner in which Kendall addressed this matter.
Yeah I think it’s because she knows that his daughter will be watching, but that threw me off too
Clearly Doug was in the depths of grief making the decisions he did.
Also, being in his mid fifties, he was most likely afraid he would be alone forever and Eva would be grown and gone in just a few years.
I truly hope that Eva has a good support system and her business is thriving❣️
That was my first thought. Not a healthy form of grieving, but the poor man didn't know how to cope. So sad.
He was 54 and went for a 24 year old. Something doesn't add up there.
@@thehousespouse
Frankly, most men that age would. Call it mid-life crisis, or whatever, but that's extremely common. I think it makes them feel young and virile and it's a huge ego boost.
My daughter who is called Eva just called me yesterday to tell me her friend found her mother passed away in her bed. I cannot stop hurting for how bad that must have been and is going to be from that moment on. So horrific.
I’m so sorry to hear that I am sending so much love to your daughters friend and really hope she has some amazing people around her to help support her through this time ❤❤
@@jemmacarter6977 Aww, thank you. Me too! The sad part is her father is not so great. Her mum would tell my daughter when she was there that if anything happened to her that she didnt want her with her dad but to stay with her friends family (which is happening now). You're very kind xx

Can we just take a moment to give a huge shout out to Kendall. Thanks for all the work you put in, to make the lesser cases known. If not for you, I wouldn't have ever heard of most of these cases or people. So thank you for getting the word out!
What’s crazy about this is that I’ve been watching your videos for years. Never imagined I’d be watching a video that occurred 20min down the road from me!!! My heart goes out to Eva! Bless her heart.

Please do the Cédrika Provencher case! She was a missing child case that was "resolved" when her body was found YEARS later, but they never caught the person who did this to her.
I am so sad for Eva but I’m proud of her sharing her story. I’m also so glad it introduced me to her amazing brand, I have 2 sweatshirts from ghost cowboy that I love! Rooting for Eva always

Women that conjur up false tales about abuse just sets us back. It's ANOTHER slap to the women that ARE being abused. Humanity is failing.
I am having trouble seeing how she was so afraid as she was no longer living with him imo this was a custody issue going thru divorce and trying to keep custody adds to her wanting to leave state imo she was trying to eliminate bit by bit divorce let victim believe possible reconciliation custody of child let victim believe reconciliation leaving state letting victim believe reconciliation now victim is gone defendant achieves her goal
Indeed. Have you flown Delta lately?
OH, women can be VERY EVIL AND ABUSIVE‼️
NARCISSISTIC!!!

However, I think I understand why people refer to this case as the “Black Swan murder.”
In the movie “Black Swan,” the main character is Nina, a ballerina striving for perfection.
Why that ur profile pic bruh lol
I’m not sure thats what media and other creators have called it, I haven’t seen it myself so I’m not sure there was much of a reason it was called this. Are you a big fan? Profile pic lol

I’m not convinced the relationship wasn’t abusive or at least very toxic but that doesn’t justify Ashley killing her husband
@@francinesanchez5402 Movement toward her or away from her?
Then she changes it and said Doug scratch her and she killed him. Ashley and mother are clearly mentally ill. No wonder Ashleys father left them. They are nuts and need to be in a mental ward.
