For ex 2 using diamond sigil weapons help, but its actually about speed as well. So what you want to do is run super fast skills that cost 2 or 3 atb to bypass the sigil break phase. Do not run it super fast if your team doesn't have diamond sigil weapons equipped. You want to swap between your team members and use the 2 or 3 atb cost skills so slower is better here. Sephiroth's nameless weapon cost 2 atb to cast so this is a great option along with the ruin materia that cost 3 atb preferably the latest one they just added in. I will say that diamond sigil break phase is the hardest part about this fight. If you have Tifa and Matt's diamond sigil weapons farmed from Very Hard Bahamut these become immediately useful for that sigil break phase. Only downside to using them is replacing weapons in your current setup that might help with debuffs or damage.
I appreciate the insight! It seems like people are taking multiple approaches to it from the videos I’ve seen, so it’s cool to know that this approach that you’ve described works as well.
@@jace743 I love to see different strategies as well. You're right though bandage sword or core defender are necessary to remove the magic down debuffs from Bahamut. The rest is pretty much toying around with materia/equip stat sticks to get your hp, pdef and mdef high enough for survivability without sacrificing too much on damage output. I would say Matt, Tifa and Barret are a perfect setup for this. Matt's core defender for the mdef down debuff removal and Barret's assault gun for pdef up to survive his dive bomb attacks. Then just run Tifa as the main healer 👍 Matt - Killer Hornet or Bahamut Rapier, Core defender. Bahamut Rapier works better here just due to time animation for sigil break phase plus mdef stats. Killer Hornet hits harder, but very slow animation so even though it hits harder Bahamut Rapier has a quicker time animation when casting Barret - Max Ray, Assault gun Tifa - Lifeguard wraps, tiger fangs/kaiser knuckles I actually prefer kaiser knuckles here for the mdef stats plus for the magic attack down debuff can replace this with the diamond sigil weapon Bahamut knuckles if your team stats are high enough to survive the attacks without magic attack down debuffing. It's smart to bring someone that can magic attack down debuff though for the mega flares from Bahamut.
😁 to be fair, 45,000 of them are from an infamous banner that was refunded toward the beginning of the game, but the rest come from me just being frugal. I decided I wouldn’t go below 45,000 once I started making guides though, because I want to keep the account as F2P-relatable as possible, and that 45,000 refund would be a pretty massive power spike.
I just beat him yesterday lol, I'm surprised I'm doing well in EX 2 . They are quite similar and I think I can beat him soon. I don't follow any guides or anything bcus most of the time people won't have my builds. I hated sephirtohs Kuja outfit otherwise I would have tried to get one copy of his weapon
Congrats on beating him! Depending on how my next set up pulls go (waiting for a banner I like… ⏰), I might be able to defeat EX2 as well. But, not sure. I think I need more HP and damage with my current possible builds. I understand the mechanics though, given the level of similarity. Hope you can beat EX 2 soon!
@jace743 lol I might have spoken too soon . 😅 I tried every method and I can't find one that prevents me from getting one shot . Seems like you need to simultaneously debrave/defaith constantly or hes just going to wreck. I thought I could offset his dive bomb with more def but it seems that's not a choice. Either needs a high pot protect or a high tier debrave. I can't fit it into the team , it just risks them dying to megaflare. Ok so now I survived his dive bomb and his relentless physical attack strings.. now I just need to figure out the numbers to keep me barely alive and bring in more dps. I got him down to the red but can't dps him fast enuff to win
@@jace743 dangit , i took him to like 2% HP but couldn't finish it! because of my builds it is so strict because of the time it needs to be cleared in . if i make one or more mistakes it's already a failed run :[
@@unskillfullymasterful yeah, I imagine it would be the same for me at my current power. That's why I'm going to just wait until I'm stronger, or maybe even until level 70 haha
A couple of options. First option is you can REALLY pump damage to make the kill before the countdown. Second option is to slow your DPS during the first two countdowns so that a megaflare will go off after the second one - that will make it so he starts his next countdown at 5. That next countdown CAN be the final one so that you can have ample time to kill him before it goes off. Let me know if either option works, and good luck!
@@jace743 Made it ! Bahamut did his spin attacks into Umbral something, I could go full DPS from this stage and defeat it before the final countdown finishes. A big thank you !
@@jace743 Think I may take that second options. Sad that its best to eat megaflare to the face. Another vid that said you want him to do the megaflare on the second count down. Hate that your being punished for getting strong. Well I sill have not tried since level 65 and all my weapons have gone up also so we will see.
Hey, maybe you’ll be able to skip the countdown! I guess it is a bit counterintuitive, but I come from a background of games where things like that aren’t uncommon. I can’t blame you for feeling that way about it though. Good luck!
Honestly, it just takes practice. I wasn’t doing any switching really until I started fighting Shiva and Ramuh wayyyy below the intended CP, so I had to learn it. I started off just getting clobbered, making tons of silly and embarrassing mistakes. But now, I only make *some* silly and embarrassing mistakes 😆
Ready for the EX2 version? Here's a link to my guide for that version of the fight: ua-cam.com/video/MjO5vdip06w/v-deo.html
Excellent video and explanation! Thanks!! Merry Christmas!!!
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Yes! Looking forward to watching this later
Following up to report your strategy got me there. Thanks again!

Hell yea thanks
I'll try that strategy asap, but boy your materias look hot.
I've been very conservative with materia synthesis, I need to look for guides
SmellyOctopus and PayneBlade have excellent materia guides! I recommend checking out their most recent ones. Materia can make a huge difference!
Look at the blue crystals 😮

Ahhh I think I do too much damage so Bahamut skips the spins attacks and goes directly into the countdown, any tips ?

All I'm missing is matts healing weapon 😢
His Core Defender? You might be able to run Red XIII instead if you have his Sleek Collar! Cloud’s Bandaged Sword also works.
they need a super extra very slow mode for dumb arses like me who can't keep up with character switching
