    Got some gems. Watching the samples progress as you were editing and adding FX was fantastic! And the velocity to volume tip in Kontakt was great! Thank you, Andrew! 🙌🏻

      This first one will focus more on the core planning, preproduction, recording, editing, mapping, and sound design - which you don't need a UI for. UI/scripting will likely be a separate thing, if enough people want it!

      Thanks for the kind words! Yes, the course does explore the whole series of creating a library from start (design) to finish (finalizing the patch.) I'm not currently planning to cover the UI creation or encoding aspect because I feel that those aren't necessary for most people, and it complicates the process - it takes away from the "fast inspiration" and makes it more difficult. But that's not to say I'll never cover it!

  • @matthewrbrownie

    Man. This is awesome. And definitely learned more on the velocity part which is where I was lost. Question. This is great for bells. But if you want to sample an acoustic instrument like a piano. How would start? Meaning what’s velocity. And could you stretch it like he did with the Xylophone and then readjust the velocities there. Or would I have to literally sample every note and layers of velocities thereof?

    • @praashek
      @praashek 8 місяців тому +1

      The MORE you directly sample, the better. The LESS you use the artifical processing like stretching, pitching etc, the better. When using pitching/stretching, You can make few half/full notes up and down, but better to record them directly as the algorithms cannot make miralces. But we are talking acoustic instruments there.

    • @ImpactSoundworksLLC
      @ImpactSoundworksLLC  8 місяців тому +1

      This is a topic I'll be exploring in much greater detail in the course mentioned in the video description :D In short, it does depend on the instrument. Some things stretch better than others. Human voice for example will sound bad unless sampled chromatically; on the other hand, stretching a guitar by a semitone is OK. Having 6+ dynamics for a guitar is excessive, but having 6+ for drums/percussion is pretty important.

    Tried to do pitch bending for a string instrument sound. It does NOT sound realistic at all in Kontakt. You think decent sampler a better choice for realistic pitch bending that can be played with MPE player like Linnstrument?

    • @ImpactSoundworksLLC

      I'm not currently planning on covering that, since that is more in the territory of how to release a commercial sample library. It's a different focus - I think most people who make libraries for their own personal use wouldn't be interested in commercializing them... but I could be wrong!
