These people are so freaking cool. My band used to play Voodoo Cadillac. Dirt Track Date is a must have album. The bass player is the coolest female bass player since Carol Kaye…
She aint no slouch. That girl can bring it.
I spent some time after Katrina, living in a motorhome that didn't run with black mold, a Danelectro and a little practice amp, learning Dirt Track Date and Ditch Diggin'. Good memories, apart from all the destruction.
@@tiki_trash ya gotta luv this Dano's !!!
@@tiki_trash First time I saw them was on a business trip to New Orleans at the Shim Sham club. We took a bunch of bankers to dinner and they insisted on going with me to see this band I had never heard of.
It was around the time Liquored Up and Lacquered Down came out. I had no idea if I would even dig it, let alone a bunch of bankers from Chicago. Right when we walked in they started playing Haw River Stomp. I was instantly hooked and I swear to God one of the guys gave me at least 50 high fives!
Back in Chicago I took the ones who didn't go with in NO and this show is from that tour.
I've seen them 15 times since then. Getting to watch Rick play guitar in person is one of the highlights of my life.
I've seen Jerry, Neil and Brian Setzer multiple times so... Thanks.
Mary Huff: The Bass Godess. Her bass lines are driving this band.
A master level band at their craft,! Seen soco many times!
Saw SCOTS in Iowa City last night. 300 people. You would have thought they were playing in front of 30K. They rocked it! And chatted after.
This is the rockiningest trio Ive heard in a long time. All three kick ass. Bass and drummer make a great guitar player even sound better!!!
I first saw SCOTS, opening for the Rev. Horton Heat, back in 1994. Not only are they incredible musicians, but they are some of the finest people I have ever met, in music. Always gracious to their fans, always available to chat, shake hands, take pics.. they'll be here in Detroit NEXT MONTH!!! WOOT!
11/11 my Bday saw SCOTS in KC at the Grand Emporium in 93! Love them
dearly! My station KLZR The LAZER out on the show!
I've always loved the sound of a Danelectro, but nobody owns it like Rick! Simply Awesome!, and this performance is amazing.
When I'm feelinng down I listen to this and smile the whole time...
I watched them play Camel Walk on Letterman show 20+ years ago and just loved them and that song, well here we are in 2023 and I am now adding them to my playlist, I have some catching up to do.
It just doesn't get much better than this.
AW, I gwahta hawt. (blushing emoji here)
One of the best nights of my life was at a SCOTS show. Mary's hair was sure purdy that night. I got VOOOOOO DOOOOOOO CADILLAC!!!!
I can't get away from this song, solid Gold.
Southern Culture on the Rips
I've had the pleasure to see Southern Culture on the skids twice in concert and they rocked my ass off both times!
This band is incredible, stripped down, kick yer ass rock.
Coming to Greensboro NC around March or April 🤘🤘🤘
they are!
Mary's bass lines! And her Doo!!
Mary's bass is bad ass CCR grove jamming along a Texan surf mode guitar player..
a must see band
Lived in NC over 30 years, and never saw SCOTS until last December...POWERHOUSE BAND!!!
The first time I heard your work I had got a cassette taped from a cassette taped from a VERY SCRATCHED UP PARTY RECORD From my Cousin Lumpy LOL AND I LOVED IT . It was Dirt Track Date . And if I look I bet I still have the tape . That was in like 1991 I think . LMFAO
Great, great live band, and Rick Miller is a genius guitarist. They always give superb value for money.
God I love Mary Huff!!!!
The bass lines , The Wardrobe , THE WIGS !!!
The Moves, The Persona,The LOOK!!!@@MitchellMaichak-ze7mr
Love SCOTS.
Sure sounds fine Always nice to find "new" music
My favorite band of all time!
Funnest live band I've ever seen. They don't come out to California much, but I catch them every time they do.
Reminds me of a Cadillac that I got from a local junkyard for $400. THAT was a Voodoo Cadillac for sure! Outside looked pretty bad, but with a big block under the hood, crushed red velvet interior, and a combination am/fm stereo with an 8-track player and a CB. That car was magic and could smoke a set of snow tires!
"Met my baby in a used car lot drinking cheap wine and throwing rocks" They are great!
That fucking guy can play guitar!
The very best laid back three piece beer band in the world - ever!
You have just gotta get up and dance - like when you heard Lovin’ Spoonful songs made you smile and probably still do!
How much I want to see this band live !😀
I love Mary!!!
Had the opportunity to catch them live a few years back. It was an amazing show and they hung around and we talked to them after the show. Really down to earth people and hellacious musicians!!
Sounds like Rock and Roll to me....
No, it's rock.
@@frankschwartz7405 sorry no roll for you!
sweet to see someone play an old Dan Electro as good as my buddy Junnie Fortney of the Trailer Park Cowboys
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
This band is great. If you like Link Wray, CCR you'll love this band.
Mama tried. I love it
Still the best version of this I've found.
I was at that show...
One of the best, most fun bar bands back in the day.
Still are, i saw them in New Haven last week. Rick still on the beat up dano but just bot a new green one and debuted it that night. Fantastic band live.

One of my very favorite songs. This and camel walk my sons favorite. RIP Mike.
I’m back again and as a band they are as smooth as a Cadillac ! - the best!
This song and group rocks! What talent!
Damn! I think SCOTS may be one of the finest rock & roll bands of all time! I wish they'd come to NYC one of these old days...
Such a cool band, they must be amazing live in person.
Oh, they are.

Great live band !
Great for cranking it up when your cruising too!
SCOTS forever. Metro show in Chicago in the 90s I will never forget. I was a dancin fool.
i'm in love with MARY HUFF!...
I freakin' love this.
5:29 - Mary works magic into the performance.
Love it!
Fucking love this band.
I've been listening to R&R music (night and day) since I was about 8. That's 51 years. SCOTs are all business. They get right to it. Havin' fun with it too. And for the guy down-comment who says he can't hear Mary Huff's bass, you need a better media mixer. Clear as a bell to me. They're all great, but she's drivin' the song,
I can hear her perfectly just with a pair of headphones.
Frank and Judy Inserra see em live and you will feel and hear he base for sure.
Excellent bass player can make all the difference in the world
@@vannjunkin8041 pity is nobody realize it is the bass player making the difference (except the bass players)
Her bass is on point.
Saw them during The Blue Plum festival in Johnson City, they were fantastic; went away with banana pudding on my favorite hat though. lol
Great, great band.
Odlična grupa. :)
Mary's bass lines are amazing she makes me think of Steve Harris from Iron Maiden
Magic!
Damn that’s cool
these guys are great love their music!!!!
You haven't really lived unless & until you've stood at the foot of the stage while Rick Miller gets a-whalin' on that git-tar holy lawd
Actually I Have 🙃
Badd Ass! They all sound great !
Just GO and BUY anything by this amazing trio - then you have found live beer music!
Man, if that can't rock you. head for the cemetery. Damn! Play it again!
He sure can make that ole Dan Electro talk!
The best around
Rockin' on Jukeboxes near and far. A bar-room favorite.

They are bad ass. My friend has one of the newer small cadillacs he has jacked up to about 550 horse. Voodoo cadillac.

I love them,they are fabulous :D
fave ! ..... snackin' on an 8-piece BOX now as i groove to this one...
thank you. thank you a lot.
Wow I never saw anybody get tone like that out of a danelectro!
That's because they are cheap, and so the name-brand elitists have no idea what kind of tone comes out of them. My Danelectro 59 was the best $450 I ever spent.
Hate to tell you but the truth is it's the musician that makes the instrument not instrument that makes the musician. He's a hot player one of them overly talented ones.
@@garyanderson7994 I don't think that's the point he is making. He is saying that different guitars produce different tones, which is truth. Certainly, my Danelectro produces a sound that is very different from every other guitar I own. That said, his guitar has clearly been modified from stock -- look at the bridge pickup. By the way, in case you are unaware, changing the pickup in an electric guitar also affects the instrument's tone.
@@BTsMusicChannel
It usually leads up to the musician. Dave of Gillian Welch has a devil guitar according to a lot of musicians who tried to play. Minneapolis years they couldn't get a sound out. Dave plays the guitar it sings and story has it he found it in a trash can.
@@garyanderson7994 "It" meaning what? Tone is not dependent upon one factor only. It is the product of a system that includes the musician's body and movements, the manipulation of equipment (including the instrument, what you use to play it, and other devices), and the room in which it is played. Experimentation with any of these factors reveal more about how it works. Anyway, have a nice day. :D
fecking awesome, i need to hear more of this band. fast.
Love the jam at the end
Gotta luv em
Back again ! It’s Friday in the desert! - best bar band ever! - every week! - everyone of them is as tight as can be as a band - but I don’t wanna go further on tightness 🤪
Nice guitar in particular.
Thats my dose of "kick ass" for the day.
Thanks for posting.
