Part 1: • Sniper Nicholas Irving...
--------
In this clip, Nicholas Irving talked about finding a sense of motivation in other people failing Army Ranger training and used that to fuel his completion. He explained how the Rangers are the special forces unit that Navy Seals call when they’re in trouble. Nicholas also recounted being in a fire-fight and having someone in his unit curl up in a fetal position because they were too afraid of combat.

Having served in the US Army Infantry. I could tell you that most of the guys who look the part are the ones who quit first. There is no real way to measure who will succeed and who will not.
Impossible 2 determine (thru looks) who won't quit. For our country, let's hope they never lower the standards. In every pipeline in every branch
It’s like that in the streets also.

Much respect! I’m a retired Army Infantryman and the training the Rangers go through while at a Ranger battalion is ridiculous. It is literally non stop and their standards are incredibly high. This young man is a true American hero! Ranger, I wish you the very best in life!
Trust me when I say this. When I was in the army the loud ones that thought they were the shit would quit because they weren’t mentally prepared to handle the pressure… my commander use to say “if you don’t approach life like you’re willing to die for tomorrow, you’re not prepared to earn greatness” that always stuck with me even to this day…
This right here is why I don't respect cops. They write parking tickets and walk around like they've done 3 tours overseas and rescued hostages and s*** 😂
Yup. 5'7-5'9 and 150-175lbs is the sweet spot for Ranger/SF. We can run, shoot, ruck, fight and bring it. Plus, our bodies are so much durable than the big boys....
“They’re bad too, we’re just REAL bad” 😂💯
I'm so proud to have served in the 3rd Rangers (A co 84-89) and even more proud of this young man who represents the Regiment so well. That bit about SEALs was fucking spot on, even in my day "...they're bad dudes too, we're just real bad." Spoken so matter of factly with no chest beating, just pure candor. Sua Sponte Ranger Irving! Well done.
Seals are in a different element. The difference is the damn cold ocean. No Rangers in the fleet. A lot of Seals candidates that failed because of the water, they go Army. GB Nick Lavery says the Army Dive school is the hardest training in the Army and the Seal dive training is a lot tougher than that.
Yeah but it's not true, rangers are not better than seals, they have a different mission set and let's be honest their selection process is much harder and they have a much more specialized set of skills as well as a broader set of skills. Rangers are infantry with a higher pt standard and a better weapon and training budget. Seals are not regular infantry they are geared more towards unconventional warfare which is not rangers specialty
@@nathanielchandler1093 Seals pipeline and Devgru is a lot longer than Rangers. They get more funds in their training and more weapons training. Seals are not infantry. Seals are the first force they call to do Recon mission before they send the regular force to occupy a place. Rangers are big DA and Seals are small unit DA. Since the Seals teams are smaller and a longer pipeline, it makes their teams tighter. Different units with different missions.

You're confusing narcissism for competition. Narcissism is a lot of things combined.

Feeding off others demise is completely normal. Energy never dies it merely changes form. When people die, loved ones get overwhelmed with emotions. Those are the emotions of the deceased.

My dad was a Green Beret from 1977-2007, he spoke highly of all branches but favored Rangers and Green Berets. He compared Delta force to the British SAS
He exemplifies the best of the best Ranger Regiment!! Men of his stature and mindset that CAG are recruiting from. Incredible humans.
None of the Green Berets/ Rangers I knew were built like “Rambo”. The ones who were built like that (mostly prior to becoming a Ranger) turned slim and slender very fast. It’s really a mind/muscle endurance thing.
I knew quite a few Rangers and Delta guys that were built. Not so many SF dudes, though there were some. I was 6' 215 before Ranger School and got up to and stayed about 205 after; I lost 20 lbs in RS. I was probably above average at 2nd Batt. but there still quite a few as big or bigger than me. I was a Scout-sniper, Scout-sniper instructor, Recon. A Recon team leader in 1st Recon Bn... and 5'6" tall and 155 - 165. I can tell you this, being big and strong is a asset. But it is in no way a guarantee you'll make it. I had determined early on that no matter what happened, I would die before quitting. That resolve made the difference. I believe some people are given an inner strength that pushes them long past where everyone else quits... And, in fact, the unit that operates primarily, from start to finish, is U.S. Marine corps - Recon the entire concept of reconnaissance is to conduct operations so that the enemy has no idea we are there. After a few years, you learn to be unnaturally quiet. My nickname/call sign was Gato. Another thing I came to realize: Sniper are hands down the deadliest operators on the battlefield. We are also the smartest...

Nahh this guy definitely one of the special ones you kan feel his energy through tha video 🤝🏾💯
You said exactly what I was thinking. The guy is inspirational All Day!!!!
Navy Seal Training is harder than RASP but Army rangers have a solid foundation in Infantry tactics that navy sailors don’t have before going through Seal Training. Furthermore Rangers operate in larger groups. Seals operate in smaller teams. Therefore Rangers have more fire power.
Exactly what I was thinking. To much understanding the SEALS operates in smaller groups for more discreet and suprise missions. Inoder to execute with speed and efficiency that leave them at greater risk of getting jammed up with its only about 5-6 seals on a mission. The could easily be stranded, boxed in or out gunned. So theire win rate compared to their size is allot more to be praised cause they're always outnumbered. Rangers can't so most missions the SEALS do because they have separate jobs. No one group is tougher than the other. But they are some Special Forces group whose degree of difficulty or risk to reward is slightly different.
SEAL training is hard but so is 75th ranger training. I would say they are about even just different things to go through
Friend!! The 75th Ranger Regiment operate in battalions of up to 800 men but depending on the mission, they release 1 squad and that squad only has 9 soldiers, if things get complicated and they need more operators then the rangers keep adding, the navy normal tier 2 seals, has 16 operators per squad, so that seals operate in smaller groups is not entirely true. Also, if we are going to talk about small groups, there are the green berets with only 12 operators in their ODA. Going back to the tier 2 Navy seals, they do direct action, but really what they are dedicated to is maritime missions, operating on ships, capturing oil platforms, we cannot confuse the period of the war against terrorism where almost all the units of Special Ops do almost the same thing. In addition, the seals are very good at what they do, but they are an overrated unit, and I am not saying it. Kevin Holland, who served in the seals, later joined Devgroup seal team 6 and later joined the Cag delta force, he said that the most clandestine counterterrorism was not the Devgroup, it was delta force. The 75 Ranger Regiment is the only major strike force the United States has.
@@alexisvelez4877very well put! And there is also a reason that the SEAL’s go to a good amount of the Army’s schools, i don’t believe the Army goes to any of theirs, and i think the Army Special Forces combat diver course is more difficult than SEAL dive school. Aside from Air Force SERE-C, i believe the Army SOF does almost all training in branch.
@@BUTTA170 what happens is that what separates the seals from any other special operations unit is buds which is different from the dive course carried out by the SF, Rangers, Marsoc etc!! The seals are specialists in destroying ships, submarines, anything that finds that they put explosives underwater, the dive course that the other special operations units take is not buds, but rather a course that enables them to infiltrate to reach their mission without being seen, but really in the water you have to give it to the seals, even the green berets were saying that their diving equipment was old, they said it in coffee or die, also the seals operate and practice swimming almost every day and diving while the other units don't, they just practice in their specialties
