Thank you Tony for all the wonderful information! I had no idea about this free ticket and will be using it when I arrive in Barcelona Sants to get to Passieg de Gracia and then back again. Your videos on Madrid and Barcelona have been so useful.
Delighted to hear that!
Excellent information ‼️ everything is very detailed in another video of the highest production quality. I loved it‼️😊
Thank you so much, Yara.
Thanks Tony for all your fabulous videos! It's currently my bible as I prep for my trip😊
Delighted to hear that!
Fantastic!! Many thanks!
Our pleasure!
Many thanks. Your videos are always so clear and helpful.
Delighted to hear that!
Oh wow, that's going to be super helpful, thanks!
Great to hear that!
So glad you showed what the QR code readers look like. Not all of the turnstiles have them and I see people struggling with this all the time. We always arrive at Atocha and use the Combinado Cercanias (platform 1 or 2) to get to either Chamartin (Northern long distance trains) or the Airport T4 terminal.
We're back to Madrid airport this week for our annual update of things and I'll make sure to check how many turnstiles have the QR code readers.
Hi Tony, are the C1 and C5 in Madrid are the trains can use the combinado cervanias? They have the red circles . Gradias!
Yes, you can use them. All the best!
4:07 Thank you so much for the information Tony! May I just clarify that if I use the combinado cercanias before the departure of the high speed train, then I cannot use it anymore when I arrive in my destination?
Hi Vannah, you can use the benefit before OR after your high-speed train trip, but not both. Have a great trip!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thank you for the confirmation! ☺️ Would have made a mistake if I didn’t watch your video. 😅
Hello, thank you so much for making such awesome informative videos about all aspects of travel related to spain and portugal. I wish that I had discovered your channel sooner :). I have bought a number of train tickets on Renfe that come with the combinado cercanias and I am hoping to be able to combine them into a free day trip or half of a day trip. Only issue is that it would make sense to drop off luggage. Is it possible to arrive at Sants Barcelona, drop off luggage and then use the Rodalies trains to get to Sitges, Montserrat (which appears to maybe use a different regional train that might not work) or Figueres? Alternatively is it worth looking to store luggage at the station to do this? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi Lynne, you could drop your luggage at the left-luggage facility at Sants Station indeed. Your best choice would be to use the Combinado Cercanías for a one way ticket to Sitges. Getting to Montserrat is trickier (see here ua-cam.com/video/DtouuBNpay0/v-deo.html ).
We will be arriving at BCN, then heading to Zaragosa. Very happy to see this video (and loving the others - you have been amazing). We have the Spain pass available to foreigners, which I assume will work with this method to get us to Sants for free. But, since we'll be arriving from the US and may be hungry, we might want to get food while at Sants. Will we have to scan out to go find a place to eat? if we do scan out, can we get back into the station for our train to Zaragosa? I'd hate to lose the ticket to Zaragosa just to get a free ride from the airport. Thanks for the answer and alll of your great tips. Keenan
Hi Keenan, we don't really know how the Spain pass really works. But in the case of the free train, once you reach Sants station, you will have to scan out to reach the part where the restaurants are. The access to the high-speed trains is separate from the section where the local trains arrive. All the best.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Again, thank you. Gracias. I checked our tickets and they do indicate they do have Cercanias access: so the Spain pass ticket should work the same. But to clarify, you are saying that, regardless of whether we go for food, at Sants we will have to scan out of the Cercanias area then rescan to enter the long distance trains?
@@keenanpawley502 that's correct, the Cercanías area and the high-speed area are separated sections within the same building.
I am arriving at chamartin station from Alicane on thursday at 10 AM. how easy is it to take cercanias from there to SOL? do I need to follow certain signs or line for the transfer?
You will have to follow the signs pointing to the platform from where your local train depart. There are screens showing the next departures.
Hi, Tony. Thanks for great VDO.
I will go to Valencia early in the morning at 7.45 am by iryo and plan to use combinado cercania from sol station to Charmatin station.
How can I board cercania at sol station?
Is the QR code for iryo train and cercania the same one?
Thanks
Hi, you will use the QR code on your IRYO ticket.
Thanks so much.
Where can I check the schedule of C 3/ C4 from Sol to Charmatin ?
As we will leave early, when does cercania start to operate in morning?
Thanks
@@chamareesothanaphan6977 check them here www.renfe.com/es/en/suburban/suburban-madrid/timetables
So if I scan the QR code on the AVE ticket at the turnstile in Malaga entering to take the train to Fuengirola (without getting a new ticket) are there turnstiles with QR code readers at Fuengirola to allow me to exit the station?
Or, how do I exit at Fuengirola if I don't get a new combined ticket in Malaga?
If there is no QR code reader in Fuengirola you'll have to reach for a member of staff to authorize your exit from the station. Or get a "combinado cercanías" ticket from the machines in Málaga.
SEO service need your channel....video is very nice
Thanks. And what would that SEO service involve?
My hotel is located at Sol. If I go to the Madrid airport, can I take cercanias train C2 or C3 from Sol to Chamartin and change to C10 to the airport ?
You can.
