I do believe I bought this very canoe! So far my 85Ibs boxer dog and I have gone out for a paddle twice. Glad I decided on the wider more stable Prospector, as my dog moves often. Paddling straight when the dog is in the bow, is more difficult. Truly enjoying my new purchase.

Absolutely love my carbon-kevlar layup Pro14Pack. One of the best things I love about it, is the stability. I can sit still on the water casting for an hour without a worry in the world. ...even on a wavy day, good rollers just slide under the boat. This boat is worth every penny.
Unfortunately August through October it was difficult to get on the water, but I have hope I can sneak out here a few more times in November and early December for a few more paddles and few more fish. ...and my plans for 2023 have really grown. :)

Took delivery of mine just in time for the first snowfall in the fall; can't wait for spring thaw to get it in the water!

After about 8 months and several trips I have to say I love my Prospector 14 in expedition Kevlar. I load it up and do 5 day trips in absolute comfort. The Yeti 20 fits perfectly behind the aft thwart and still leaves room for all my camping gear. Prepping for a 5 day Okefenokee trip and looking forward to good food and frosty beverages at the camps. Fantastic vessel and it gets a lot of attention on the water.

These are great boats. I have one in Exp Kev Sapphire and my brother has one in Emerald. They offer total confidence on big water yet are still very nimble. I have had mine two seasons now and am completely satisfied. Cheers from Michigan.

Bill and Scott, you guys always present your products in a realistic and professional manner. This is a great boat. I wish I could try several out, but I live in Georgia USA.

yeah Georgia is a tricky spot if you'd like to test paddle. You'd be looking at a road trip to Louisiana or into the Northeast. We can deliver a new boat directly to your door if you like, but for test paddling it would require visiting a dealer.

@@SwiftCanoeKayak thank you. Is it possible for me to talk with someone for advice on best canoe options for me? I know what's important and I want to get this choice right.

Is the Prospector more stable than the Cruiser in waves? What is main difference between the two types of canoes?

Can i ask for some advice? I fish out of a kayak (12ft rec sit-in), but also paddle a 17’+ 22” wide sea kayak, and would like to ditch the 12’ plastic boat for a 13-14’ solo/pack canoe. Should i opt for:
    - Keewaydin 14 or
    - Prospector 14 or
    - Pack 13.6?
Fishing coastal estuaries and freshwater occasionally with a bit of chop, no current, something quickish to paddle but with good secondary stability, mostly without a lot of gear. Expedition kevlar would be my lay-up of choice.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

for coastal waters with wind/waves/current, plus your experience with a sea kayak, I would actually recommend a Cruiser 12.8 Pack or 14.8 Pack. They're sportier and better in big water, plus with your experience sea kayaking you'll appreciate the performance. If it was strictly flatwater fishing on lakes and rivers I would say Pack 13.6.

@@SwiftCanoeKayak thanks so much for the suggestions - much appreciated.
Remember going to a Chinese restaurant with about 150 options, and you can’t decide because almost everything is appealing? Now I have at least 5 options, though I like your advice on the 12.8 Cruiser. Cheers.

Price is ridiculous. Can get a car for cheaper and that comes with a engine, transmission, all sorts of parts etc. How is the price justified? Not even a hate intended. Just curious

Super comfortable. Holds lots of gear. My Prospector 14 Pack weighs about 30lbs; light enough for me to portage (I’m 59 with a bad knee) or throw over my shoulder if I don’t care to use the yolk. I fly fish from my Prospector and its stability allows me to swing a 9-weight rod with big flies with little rocking. Not cheap, but well worth the money.

@Henry Byres I bought one and sold it a month later. Yeah it was light. But not worth 6 plus k at all.
