In an interview shortly after Seth MacFarlane was asked if he was going to hit them back. He said something to the effect that they’d like to, but it wasn’t really a fair fight since they turn their episodes around in a week, and it’s takes them months. The language he used was: they’d be firing at us with machine guns vs our muskets.
There’s a long history of Matt and Trey crapping on family guy, they made it clear that, no, this isn’t a friendly jab thing, we DO NOT like that show. They also said the Simpsons writers sent them flowers, and the king of they hill writers said they were “doing god’s work”.

So Seth basically got totally ROFLstomped and couldn’t even issue a proper retort? Jesus. No wonder he stopped giving a crap about that show. The first three seasons were pretty good, at least.
American Dad is fucking great, though. You really need to check that one out, Toli. It starts off a bit rough but it hits its stride pretty quickly and only gets better.
@@env0xI have to wonder how much Fox is making for one episode versus how much time, labor and money is spent on the same. The logistics seem a little crazy, at least from a layman pov.
Maybe Seth could publish episodes faster if he actually employed manatees, or at the very least, a computer program that used a random number generator to select five random idea tokens from a digital pool of nouns, verbs and pop culture references.

It's crazy how basically this exact scenario played out with South Park Episode 200 and 201. Glad it didn't end up getting South Park cancelled. Those episodes are definitely worth watching if you can.
To be fair, the Jimmy/Timmy fight is pretty much scene-for-scene from ‘They Live’
That’s why Kenny is so ethical, he ate a manatee spleen in the earlier season.
Honestly this episode changed my whole perspective of family guy, I was never able to enjoy a family guy episode after that lol

This Bart is voiced by Mona Marshall, who is known for playing Kyle's Mom and Butters' Mom.
And quite possibly the only male character voiced by a woman on _South Park,_ as usually characters are voiced by someone of the same gender, with other rare exceptions usually being Trey doing a deep woman voice (or the women in "Red Badge of Gayness" for tragic reasons).

yup, ruined the show, Seth suffers from SEVERE TDS and it shows in his jokes, it got to the point I stopped watching, just like how I stopped watching the TED show on Hulu and nearly stopped watching The Orville.
@@DanielRichards644it seems like almost every news or media organization now just acts like this, it’s become the norm for the news to be more like entertainment than show actual news. They feel threatened by trump which is why so much was done to try and take him down which didn’t happen with any other president.
Actually, FOX is the only network where they let their shows make fun of each other and the network. You should check out the Gutfeld show some day. He spends as much time making fun of other people who are on FOX as he does making fun of liberals.

8:28 When I first saw this episode, I didn't know about the First Amendment either, so I assumed Bush was infodumping for the audience (i.e. us watching the episode).
I notice that South Park (or just Kyle) does this sort of snowball effect thinking, where banning one thing means eventually all things will get banned, when that’s not true, it’s just fearmongering to get whatever they want.
Simpsons and Family Guy aren't far away in terms of story or writing. They both feature alot of physical humor, wordplay, pop culture references of the time, with a relatively large set of reacurring characters, centering about a flawed american family, with a portion of emotional storytelling as well, especially in their earlier seasons.
The difference is that Family Guy crosses the line more often and gets alot more graphic and sexual. But both ultimately lost their souls after being on the air for just too damn long because their networks just won't let go of the revenue.
Simpsons lost its way after many many great seasons, Family guy lost its way earlier in its history. If you compare the way the first 3 season are written to the rest of the show you see the difference
Truth spoken here. The Simpsons was great for at least ten seasons. Still had its moments after that. Family guy started off great but after the initial cancellation 3 seasons in and eventual revival it was never as good. Still had its moments, but it was a noticeable drop in quality.
The cartman/kyle fight I think was supposed to mimic the chicken vs Peter fights in family guy

Have you ever seen the South Park - Aristocrats joke? It's only a minute and half long so it's probably not worth a reaction video, but you should definitely watch it on your own. In my opinion it's the best version of the joke.

Really? Cause the vast majority of first world democratic countries has freedom of expression and don't need guns to have it.
Compared to the US I'm really happy with the level of freedom of speech in Germany, despite some really concerning trends.
The thing is, in the US, legally you can say almost anything publicly, no matter how outrageous it is, but I've seen many stories of Americans who lost their job because they posted the wrong political opinions online. And how much freedom of speech do you really have if the consequences of you voicing your opinions could make you lose your job and make you homeless.
In Germany there might be some restrictions to what you are legally allowed to say and things like holocaust denial are illegal, but as long as my political opinions don't violate these laws, my employer could not fire me for posting them on my private social media for example.
Freedom of speech is great but the only things I don’t like are that 1. you can be fired and cancelled for just saying your opinions. And 2. Many times, the whole Freedom of speech thing is used as a political tool, acting like without being able to say the most offensive and gross stuff possible, that we have no voice. Some things should be banned, but only things that are grossly offensive.

That's exactly what I mean.
Here in Germany there are definitely things that I could say in public without getting into legal trouble that would not lead to any legal consequences in the US.
But personally the things that are illlegal to say or write in Germany all fall under outrageous, gross and extremist bullshit in my opinion, so I would not say them anyways.
But I never felt like I can't say my opinion, even if some find it controversial, because I might lose my job over it, but I've seen stories of Americans getting fired for opinions that I do agree with.
@@maximilianmaier3950 it seems like the UK and US are the worst offenders of this. Everything is blown out of proportion and taken to its maximum extent. Getting fired for your opinion is one of those things.
@@Azurethewolf168 especially the US is great when it comes to selling something as great freedom for their citizens and then use this freedom to opress them. And Americans are gullible enough to fall for it.
Just look at the 2nd amendment. Such a great freedom to own guns, right? But at the same time, this very freedom allows trigger happy cops to just shoot people down and get away with it.
And I'm not even completely against gun ownership, I think with reasonable gun control, law abiding citizens should be allowed to own guns and I would appreciate looser gun laws in Germany but compared to the USA I'd rather have no guns than having to fear getting shot by a cop if he mistakes my iPhone for a weapon.

For what its worth, i quite enjoyed the star wars parody that family guy did.
I really do think family guy writing has become more cohesive over time ( at least last time I watched an episode probably six years ago or something now- I don’t even know if it’s still running )

But yeah Simpson’s has become unbearable . Probably because it used to be really good , that it’s so much more disappointing it has fallen.
I grew up on South Park and Simpson’s, I wasn’t allowed to watch them but downloaded a ton of seasons for my iPod .
Seriously I think a lot of my intelligence on history and pop culture comes from these shows .

Why does the Bible always keep getting revised every year while the Quran has remained the exact same for thousands of years? Why is there so many inconsistencies with the Bible as far what god is (council of Nicaea)? Don’t claim Christianity is the truth when it has been changed every few years and has thousands of denominations which all claim to be correct. Christianity also doesn’t give any explanation as to why the other abrahamic books exist, and has some insane stuff like cutting a woman’s hand off for touching another man. I don’t believe Christianity is “fake” or something, but there are things that are not really addressed properly.

Yes the super best friends wasn’t censored at the time. When the creators went to CC about these episodes, CC responded with the typical ”can’t show him on tv”. Then CC was informed that the super best friends episode has been airing for years on their channel
