I’ve purposefully stayed away from TikTok, never wanting to even be apart of it. It just looks like a damaging, demoralising, time waster. I’ve just disabled my Facebook due to wasting time, with only Instagram left. Purely for somewhere to post my travel photos. Guess I’m officially old now 😂 But at least I can look up from my phone, read a book, and travel the world around me.

This app is amazing. I post every day and I feel love and appreciated when someone watches it. It makes me feel like I am something special. When in reality I'm a 50 year old alcoholic who's never had a girlfriend.
At first I was reluctant because of other people's bias. But I like to think of myself as being an open minded person so I've tried the app to make my own judgement. Honestly is a form of entertainment as any other and I think that it doesn't deserve a negative perception. It's a worldwide window that if not abused can be as refreshing as listening to good music. So many kids grow up over-adored by their parents. They are coddled, praised, and have the constant attention of their parents who will drop whatever they are doing instantly to tend to the child's needs. When the child gets into the teens, that attention is sought from other sources, as it is expected. The child is convinced he/she is a prince or princess, and much of their activity is focused on this in some form. This platform is perfect for them. They can keep reassuring themselves that they are "all that" after mom and dad are not doing it so much anymore.
So apparently not only do TikTok videos get high views, but now UA-cam videos explaining TikTok videos get high views as well. And you didn't think this would go pass 50k, such faith >.< lol

Hey Pineapple Jam, yeah I think you’re right. People make more money on UA-cam as it is a much more established platform with more monthly logged in users, plus videos can be much longer so brands feel like they are getting more bang for the buck when paying creators. That being said, TikTok is growing very quickly so it’s a good idea to try it out and grow a following while it’s still in its infancy. Good luck 👍

BK42 Channel thank you for your comment. TikTok definitely has a reputation for having a young audience but I wouldn’t let this put you off (Facebook started the same way). I believe TikTok is here to stay and now more businesses/brands/creators are starting to realise this and are jumping on board. If you’re looking to grow an audience fast then this is one of the best places to do it . My top tip would be to find ‘a thing’ and stick with it, create content and be know for a particular type of content and you will grow fast.

I make a point of avoiding the products advertised in media. Jokes on them I guess. Unless the ad is for something totally novel or unheard of why would anyone be influenced by advertising. I don’t get it. If you like to buy new Chevy trucks your going to buy new Chevy trucks whether or not you saw a commercial. I don’t think anyone is dumb enough to be talked into a decision because they saw it in an ad. I hope not anyway.
@@homeimprovementsubaruguy2556 It's the other way around: they see you're interested in cars so they show you cars. Seeing offers for something you like all the time makes it way easier to fall into temptation.

Hey Juubes, thanks for your comment. Yep, I definitely don't have millions of followers so hopefully this TikTok experiment was inspiration to anyone looking to built a following on TikTok quickly. I chose the channel name "Learn Online Video' because all the other names I wanted were taken :-) I might change it in the future. Thanks for subscribing, lots more content on the way.

Problem #1 it is random videos until i watch 50000 videos and like 1000 so the algo kicks in

15-second videos of pranks, silliness and idiocy? Perfect if you are 10 years old, I guess. I will stay with UA-cam where I can listen to an audio book that is 6 hours long, or watch a whole movie, or take a 15-minute foreign language class.

So beyond being an alter ego for your facebook/IG avatar, what is the difference from just taking a video? Does it have editing? Filters? Or is just for the most important aspect of life which is to gain more followers?

From what I've seen I'd say it's mostly teenagers and young adults (essentially college age students).

Hey Pineapple Jam, yeah I think you’re right. People make more money on UA-cam as it is a much more established platform with more monthly logged in users, plus videos can be much longer so brands feel like they are getting more bang for the buck when paying creators. That being said, TikTok is growing very quickly so it’s a good idea to try it out and grow a following while it’s still in its infancy. Good luck 👍

BK42 Channel thank you for your comment. TikTok definitely has a reputation for having a young audience but I wouldn’t let this put you off (Facebook started the same way). I believe TikTok is here to stay and now more businesses/brands/creators are starting to realise this and are jumping on board. If you’re looking to grow an audience fast then this is one of the best places to do it . My top tip would be to find ‘a thing’ and stick with it, create content and be know for a particular type of content and you will grow fast.
