Awesome video my guy, I owned ninjas from 250s all the way up to 1000s, going fast is fun but the comfort of the vulcan is great and it's a bit snappy
8 month old for a reply.. but yeah lol. I felt like the bike was trying to be a cruiser and a rocket. I’m going to get a different cruiser, and a rocket lol. Best of both worlds
Hey folks, I’ve been putting a lot of effort into getting a good audio setup going so you all can hear me better and the wind won’t be a bother. Saturday July 30th, I should have received all my new gear, and I’ll take for a test run. If it succeeds, I should have a new motovlog Saturday night or Sunday before I leave for work.
Nice run! I admire the courage.
@@el-media6434 lol thank you. I’ll never make a video again though without a jacket and gloves. My gosh lol
Thank you for this video. I really didn't care about the top speed, but more of the rpm and the vibrations at certian highway speeds while in top gear. Your video showed about 5000 rpm at 55 mph or there abouts. Of course I couldn't tell about the vibrations on a video.
I just sold the LAST Harley I will ever own. I paid $37,000 for it and it broke down four times within the first year, I then sold it for $28,000. Just the money I lost on that one Harley would have bought me a Vulcan S, taxes, title, doc fee, tag fee and some accessories.
I've owned motorcycles since 1967, I am now 70 years old and I've learned my lesson. If I want a Quality motorcycle that is also comfortable and reliable, IT WON'T BE A HARELY, it will be a Kawaskai. And I like the Vulcan S. I don't wnat another V-Twin. All they do is chug chug chug. I would rather have the smooth running engine like the parallel twin of the Vulcan S.
One last note. I am thinking hard about buying a Vulcan S and I like the small windshield or flyscreen you have on yours. What is the name of it? Is it a American Cycle flyscreen?
Once again, thank you for this video. Ride safe and ENJOY every journey.
I am glad I was able to help. As for the vibrations, they weren’t bad at all. Engine runs very smooth. Fair warning, the bike is on the smaller side. I’m not sure what you’re used to, but they took the engine from the Ninja 650, and put it on this bike. It has a good amount of pep to it. Harley’s are.. made to be modified. And harsh vibration machines.
As for the windshield, I believe it’s PUIG. I made a separate video on 13 must have accessories for the Vulcan s, and listed the screen there if you want to check it out.
Sorry to hear you lost so much on the Harley. I personally don’t own this bike anymore.. I’m considering my next one to be a Gen 3 Busa. Undecided
We've all been there buddy. Harleys are overpriced garbage. Now I own a 2023 Goldwing and a 2024 Vulcan S. Never look back.
It’s so interesting how this “little” bike can do those speeds. Like it’s crazy. Bigger bikes have to work harder. I have one now but I’m too big for it so looking at other things but this bike is a BLAST to ride.
It is a blast to ride. Sure you’re too big for it? They have extended reach shift rod and seat. Makes it better suited for taller people.
@@Kodyssey I’m moreso wide and heavy. Only 5’9”
@@Larrs there’s a website “Corbin seats”. You can customize your own seat for it. They are expensive.. $500 and up I think. But that may help with you sitting on it. But if you’re afraid of weight.. maybe do some research and find out what’s too much. I couldn’t tell you.
I’m 6’4 270lbs and riding it with no problems
@@meesturkrabs1117 yep! I was 315 on mine. No problem
Thanks ClutchThrottleGo. Always exciting...
I’ll keep it up. I swear I’ve replied to some of these comments. Weird
Thanks for this, I was actually wondering this for years and never found any video about it.
Not a problem
Great video, thanks heaps for the speed test really appreciate it 👍
Not a problem. Amazing how Mexico looks like similar areas around here 😂
Thanks for the hit back Vulcan awesome bike love mine shift lever problem fixed
Glad your shifter got fixed. Such a late reply, sorry about that
It’s all good little late getting back myself Ride on bro
@@Phillip-z7d I’m praying by end of summer, have my new bike.. possibly sooner
I'm glad you set the speedo to KPH for this video. It's important to ride responsibly. (I know you've moved on to gaming, but hey, content is content.)
I didn’t set the speed to KPH. If I did, it wasn’t on purpose lol. And yeah, gaming for now (cheaper to maintain content), but I plan to recreate CTG later
All it takes is one "enthusiastic prosecutor".
Great video, hoping to get a Vulcan next year. As somebody else commented, always wear gloves!
I do. Didn’t have a pair in that video
Get it! I love mine!
Many underestimate this bike. Thing has lots of power because it has the same engine as the Ninja 650. I'm currently in the dual sport scene, but if I got another cruiser I would definitely consider the VULCAN S. VULCAN S or the Rebel 1100.
I’m not a fan of the rebel design. The Vulcan S is a sweet ride though. I do seriously need to change the exhaust however.. that’s my biggest complaint so far
@@Kodyssey I would love to ride the VULCAN s. Besides Harleys, Kawasaki is all I have ever owned, mostly sport bikes. I currently have a 2022 KLX300 and absolutely love it. I can cruise at 70 mph and then go to a MX track..lol.
Yeah, owned 1 old crappy cruiser as first bike, then 3 rockets. So for me to be comfortable on this, says something.
I compared the Vulcan and the 1100, ended up going with the Honda. I rode a friend's Vulcan S, and it was a lot like my Z400, but felt much looser. I didn't like it as much as I expected, so I decided to go with the Rebel instead. After owning it a couple months, all I can say is that I made the right choice, the Rebel rips hard, and it's seating position is more comfortable for riding aggressively.
I’m really unsure what to do. I do like this bike, but I’m considering trying something different. Either Suzuki Boulevard M90/C90, save up for Indian Scout or get a BMW S1000RR

Anyone else gonna comment on no gear? lol, lord! That run was spur of the moment. Just threw the helmet on and went for it. At that time I didn’t have gloves. I have small hands, hard to find any.
I’ve gotten tons of feedback from you all about having no gloves, or any protection.
I’ve gotten all protection needed since this video, so no worries.
Also, when I get another bike, I’ll be using a TASCAM and different mic, so my audio will be significantly improved.
No gloves , no jacket , no protection 116 miles an hour goodbye.
You’re not the first to say this. In the comments.. I have since wore protection lol
Gone regardless, with that protection you’ll just have an open casket ⚰️ instead of it closed. When it’s your time it’s your time.
@@Etruscan70 I have gloves, helmet, riding jacket, padded pants and boots now. Yes.. that run was dumb. Y’all wanted a top speed run, I delivered. -yours truly ❤️
@@Kodysseyнастоящий байкер должен лететь по дороге так, чтобы грузовые машины его объезжали, перчатки и шлем,придумали трусы)
Lol! Does it really matter? At those speeds, having an accident those gears are irrelevant! The best thing to think of you wouldn't have a beat up face when they put you in the coffin.😂😂😂
Hey bro. We are in the same next of the woods. Same bike too. But I have a ‘23
I actually sold mine back in February/March. Plan on getting another one eventually. Likely either a bigger bike or a rocket
Great video. Thx
No, thank you!
Great test and thanks for sharing. I do have a question/concern, why don't you wear the proper protection?
Protection has been upgraded since then
@@Kodyssey good boy 😜😜
Hey Austin, my friends tease me that "I drive like an old lady, 60mph and I'm white knuckle death gripping the steering wheel"! Motorcycle riding is the same. I'm 59 and have NOTHING to prove to the young punks out there, this is my first motorcycle.🏍️🤓🤭🐻🦅🇺🇸❤️ Doug
It’s a great bike, and a terrific starter bike. You won’t be disappointed. I’m gonna get another in the near future, and restart my CTG channel. Can’t wait, but deciding currently which bike to get. Considering sportster S, but not sure about the tires on them.. I like curves
But thanks for the test run .....be safe.
Not a problem, same to you
Yeah... 🤨 I expected a lot more out of that bike.... So far everything I've read about that bike said it was powerful and sporty bla bla bla (for a 650cc) But my first bike was a 96 Suzuki intruder 805 sv that was carbureted 5 speed bone stock motor... (except I took the baffles off and just ran headers to right in front of the back tire and had them turn down and out about 90 degrees. Then I stripped the windshield, saddle bags, front and back blinkers and put on aftermarket mirrors, foot pegs and a brake light... But no engine upgrades whatsoever) ... And it would have blown that bike out of the water! I know mine had about 150 more CC's but I never would have thought it could make that big of a difference considering this bike is way newer, fuel injected and looks a lot more aerodynamic... I hope you were holding back on the throttle because if that's all she's got, I'm disappointed AF. Don't get me wrong though. Any bike is a good bike. For a Kawasaki Vulcan, it looks awesome and I'm sure it's fun as hell to ride but it should be a lot faster.. especially if it's labeled as "powerful and sporty"
There’s a reason I don’t own it any longer. I was all out on the throttle. Getting up to speed is no problem for it.. just the gears are way too short. They turned a sport bike into a cruiser. So it’s a cruiser, with a rocket soul, limited by cruiser characteristics
In 6th gear at 8000 170 kW/h, it does not gain more speed. Why?
Probably the power band. Most engines have a power band at a particular RPM. So let’s say this bikes power band is 4000-6000 (unsure), there’s just not enough power to pick up more speed. Plus the gear and tooth ratio play into it. Engine could be throttled by its gears.. which I actually think plays a major part.
How was the wind on the highway? Did you feel like you were getting rocked to the side at all?
I bought another helmet last weekend and I’m hoping to give it a trial run this coming weekend. With that said, between the helmet I was using (open face) and the road I was on (grooved and a little wobbly), I don’t think I can give a fair answer to that yet. The video looks like I was shaking a bit, which I was. But that was due to road and helmet. So, let me come back to this question later. From what I’ve noticed, the bike is rather smooth most the time. My friend even noticed some wobble on that road that he didn’t get on other grooved roads
Hey dude, does that windshield help much or do you get wind buffering? Looks pretty cool.
It’s worthless lol. Relieves some off my chest and keeps bugs off the speedo area. I’m going to swap for the cafe style when I get a chance
@@Kodyssey Doh! Ha, ha! That's a shame. I like the look of this one.
New video coming in a couple hours. Should have 2 by tomorrow night. Second one is of my brothers bike build for anyone interested
@@mfpun-nz I hate to break it to you, but unless you get a tall windscreen that destroys the aesthetics IMO, you won’t reduce much wind. Though I think the cafe design is better. I like mine until I compare it side by side to my friends. Cafe is hands down the best looking windscreen I know of
when you drive 80 mph, whats the rpm count on the bike?
I don’t remember exactly. It was rather high, but it’s a high rev bike
@@KodysseyExactly, bro. People get carried away by the rpm all the time. They must understand that if they want low rpms, they can only find them in Harlys or high-cylinder motorcycles.
Yeah if you aren’t used to rockets, the high rev can be intimidating and feel like you’re killing it. It’s made for it. However.. I do prefer to have 2x the speed at that high rev lol, so I be going back to a rocket at some point.
And when I do, I’ll likely revive (CTG). Name is saved already
You can change both sprockets to settle the rpms down at 80mph. 16 front and 43 rear
And a DID Gold X Chain
Mine never fails to hit 120mph but it does have a large reclining screen.
Large reclining screen?
Mate, please get se gear.
Video was great, you displayed the accuracy great and you put effort into the video. It's just the hands man, get them covered lad
Watch later videos. Lol, I got gloves, but as for this video, I agree. I should have had them lol
@@Kodyssey I'm already watching other vids of yours now and already subscribed :)
Got my 2018 vulcan s to 135 on a slight decline on the 101. Took the governor out, not sure how much difference that made.
I don’t think the limiter makes that much a difference. I could be wrong, I’m no expert. Was that the bike speedo or external gps speedo? Highest mine registered was 120 (not in a posted video). But I know that was inaccurate. Maybe 112.
@@Kodyssey odometer reading so maybe off a bit.
Either that or you bought a unicorn. Better love on it and shine those rims every day!
110 mph is fast enough for me all day long man! And this bike is actually really cool looking! For sure yall 🤪
Plenty fast yes. I miss those 150+ speeds lol
Nice bike I have the same one having problems with shift lever wind down shifting shift lever won’t come back up. Had it in the shop twice in the shop now vacation week it figures wonder if anyone else is having this problem it seems to be a hard fix.
I never had a problem with the shift lever. I actually never had any problems at all tbh. It was a solid bike.
What windshield is that and does it push most of the wind above your helmet?
I’m a short guy and it does not push over my helmet. It’s the Puig windscreen. Check out the 13 must have accessories vid. I have a link there
No gloves and no sleeves is not safe be safe man
That was one of my first vids. I nearly always wear gloves.. and it has to be hot outside to be sleeveless
@@Kodyssey just be careful homie
I have 650. My views, if you have budget under 10k and still want cruiser. This bike is perfect or For little extra, get Vulcan 900 classic. The issues with this bike on highway:
1. Vibrate too much. You hand start feeling numb after a while.
2. Shakes a lot in high speed.
3. Aerodynamic is bad. Even with windshield,I get lot of buffeting.
4. Stock seats are bad. Sore butt for 1.5 hrs.
By no means this bike is bad. It is way better to buy this for traveling within city or anything under 200 miles. It gives good riding experience. It looks and feels so so good. But for longer cruise this will not work. Considering the price this bike is perfect.
The only issue I have on highway is the seat. I don’t notice any shaking or major vibrations. I would agree though, it’s not exactly a highway bike. Though I have taken it on a 5 hour round trip and.. seat was only thing that bothered me. I’m 5’5”.. short fella. Maybe that’s why idk
@@Kodyssey for a guy who is 6 feet, wind noise and buffeting will surely be an issue. Also when I said vibration,I didn’t mean Harley level. It’s just you want it to get better with time :)
nice
👌👍
Ty
Just got a Kawasaki z 400 2022 red line at 110 6th gear. Need to flash ECU.
Yeah, if I flashed ECU, it would be with power commander. But I don’t see it making a huge difference
Their a good big bike, just bought my 2020 last night
Awesome! They are great bikes. Little snowy this weekend, so I can’t ride haha. Made a gaming channel instead for these circumstances
I flash the ECU on my bike and now my top speeds 145
Who did you send the ECU to? And did you do anything else to the bike.. change gears or anything of the sort? 110 is my max, 145 would definitely be nice. What RPM are you at with 145. Too many unawares questions my friend
Gohosting Umm no your top speed isn't 145. You'd be dead. This bike doesn't have the aerodynamics and suspension to safely handle anything over what we saw in this video.
Following, please like this comment if you get a response
@@Kodysseyyou can get 126 mph if you run out all of the gears to 7k rpms if not she won't do but around 112ish
hey bud
what octane fuel do you use? thanks!
87. An old buddy of mine used 93 and there was absolutely no difference in performance that I could tell
@@Kodyssey
ok thank you very much man!
just got my BRC yesterday
going to get my license now and take my first ride!
hopefully i get used to the forward controls quickly!
I’m sure you’ll have a blast, be careful out there!
Geez, the preaching about getting riding gear. I'm sure that our host is aware of all that, personal choice.
Finally someone said it. lol, I should have had it on, especially for a top speed run. Butt I did it for the content. Didn’t feel like gearing up for 15 mins
yeah, who needs gloves and gear anyway? It's not like you went flat out on the highway or anything.
😂🤣 I mean.. “don’t try this at home guys”
In the Philippines top speed of vulcan s is more or less 200kph
That would be nice
Hard to believe
Is this on par with Hyosung gv650?
Being that the GV650 has a 650 engine, I'd say they are in the same class. But I know nothing about the Hyosung Brand, so I can't accurately comment. Take the Vulcan S 650 and the Ninja 650 for example. Both are Kawasaki but 2 completely different bikes.
Where did you buy that windshield?
Check out my video for 13 must have accessories. Link in description.
@@Kodyssey works good against wind?
It’s ok I suppose. I didn’t find a massive improvement other than some to the chest
What's your weight?
Man my weight varies so much it’s unreal. Generally between 120-145 lol
@AustinsRetreatGaming that's fair, same honestly 135-150 though lol
Personally me I would have done the speed run on 265 lmao
Lol. Meh. I should have gone to an airport
And the moral of the story is Get some gear, Man! 🤣🤣🤣🎉🎉💯🤡🤡🤡
Y’all really gotta read the comments lol
I managed to wind mine up to 100mph but thats when i saw the water buffalo, so eased off, This is riding in North East ( sisaket) Thailand you have to be very careful, Unfortunately being an old fart my wife has now banned me from riding the Vulcan, pity but with age comes wisdom ( i hope) She hid the keys !😁
Haha! Gotta be careful for sure. I've been to wild parts of the country on motorcycle. Anywhere out west is fun for a wide open road experience. But the "dragon" in Tennessee (USA) is one of my favorites still.
I'd be finding those keys
Are you using any of the reduced reach controls/seat?
Reduced pegs, yes. Reduced seat, no. I ordered a reduced seat and with me being 5’5”, it was way too short. It’s made for like 5’2” or less if I had to guess. I’m not using the reduced handlebar either.. same reason. I loosened my handlebar up and lowered it some, but I feel as though I didn’t need to. If you need a reduced reach seat however, I still have it
Get some grear man 🫣
Old video. I have gear lol
