I Ranked EVERY LEGO Bonus Level!

- Опубліковано 21 лип 2023
- Throughout LEGO's decade spanning videogame history, there have been a LOT of bonus levels. I even created a whole speedrun category dedicated to playing all of them, but I've never given my full thoughts on what the BEST LEGO bonus level of all time is.. and what's the worst. So, come rage with me as we go over just what makes a bonus level good, and what makes a bonus level a PAIN!

Hey! COMPLETELY forgot about LJW, that’s my bad! Looks like I know what game i’m playing this weekend…
What about LSW1and2?
What do those acronyms mean?
@@canadaismyfavouritecountryEXACTLY!!!
@@G-Forces Lego Jurassic World
Lol rip
The TCS levels always made me waste like an hour looking for studs while I was at like 999980 and there just weren’t any
THIS IS WAY TOO RELATABLE
@@Therapeudicssk agreed
Same! I was just assembling one of the letters in "LEGO" wrong.
An idea could be ranking every what I like to call forced co-op levels (levels where in the original story had just one character so the game had to include another character into the level just to keep the co-op available) between stuff that just makes sense like having r2/4 in the complete saga, the creative ones where they just slip in an oc like the janitor for Indy 2 and of course can’t forget darth Vader an absolute icon in this category of levels
I can also think of putting Shagrat in the Shelob level, and Gail girl in the first level of LEGO Movie (partially) and 13th (the one with emmet back in bricksburg, also firefighter joins them). but how is Vader a forced coop character?
@@Caspff technically it’s just obiwon in the scene but for co-op sake you can still play as anakin for the level which ends on a boss battle against the other player
@@zegop5736 Ah, you we're talking about that level. Yeah, but I wouldn't call this a forced co-op, because it wasn't really forced, it was just a non-typical mechanic implemented here. A co-op boss fight. Also, I beat the game many times, and there is a funny easter egg - If you beat the level as obi-wan, the cutscene gets shortened. Why? Because the start of the cutscene shows Anakin beating obiwan (but then loosing ofc), in case anakin player wins.
My favourite is the one in The Skywalker Saga where you’re just floating above Mustafar as you watch player 1 have fun fighting Anakin. Nice work, Warner Bros.
@@cosmicjenny4508 “if you look to your left you can see the game I’m supposed to playing” fawfals minion
you forgot about the "lego isla nublar" bonus level which (i think) was the 100% reward for LJW (you also completely disregarded the deadpool missions in LMSH1)
Seriously, the Deadpool ones were so good they could’ve been #1
while I wouldn't count the story missions from force awakens for the reasons you mentioned, I would've counted the mission you unlock after getting all the gold bricks where you fly around as the death star blowing up planets (it sucks)
i thought it was a pretty fun bonus level tbh. It could have been better (like having the planets be actually specific star wars planets and limiting how many of them there are), but it's nice flying around, destroying the galaxy.
@@pout6038 imo it's just a bit too small and short while also lacking the variety that comes with the normal million-stud levels
@@mdpl-05 i guess, but at the same time, there's not that much that can be done with a "destroy the galaxy" level, but it's a "destroy the galaxy" level which is enough for me to find it fun.
also i think you unlock Starkiller Base as a vehicle and microfighter by completing it.
I guess your right it is boring if you don't enjoy flying around destroying random planets but it's fun for me and its useful if you wanna grind studs and the force awakens level is actually a one million stud challenge.
Man, i'm not the only one who gets an uncanny and uncomfortable yet nostalgic vibe from these empty levels made entirely of LEGO, right?
They are pretty divisive imo, I personally hate the look for those reasons.
I absolutely hated new town in tcs because 5 blue studs were missing from the swing set so i had to leave the level losing all of my progress, unlock super zapper to kill the gonks for studs and redo the level again
the best part about LHP5-7 is that all the little buildings are real lego sets you could buy, inserted into the game!
You forgot to mention that LEGO City was from LSW2, and A New Hope was the very first bonus level, featured in LSW1.
Also Anakin's Flight was from LSW1, not 2.
I’m a little surprised you skipped over the Bonus level from Lego Dimensions… but it definitely wouldn’t have ranked too high since it’s just a bunch of enemy waves with a cutscene taken from the game’s original trailer right after. Plus, how many enemy waves you get is determined by how many of the year one franchises you’ve accessed by that point, and it was never updated to include year two…
Also its terrible 💀
Guess that explains why I never fought Scooby and Midway enemies, but thank god it didn't add Year two enemies because I'll be there for almost all day.
When I was a kid I absolutely loved Ancient City from Indiana Jones 1, and I’m not quite sure why I loved it so much more than the Star Wars ones but seeing it in this video brought back all the memories of playing that stage.
As I've been playing through the older Lego games recently one of the biggest things I miss from them is definitely the Bonus Levels. Great video man!
I would consider the capital ships in The Skywalker Saga to be bonus levels, as they are unrequired missions that do not affect the story in any way, and provide unique battles overall
I only have one small niggle about this list, which otherwise is a great list. You ranked the Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 The Brick Apple, fair enough. But, if you ranked all the Gwenpool missions from Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, I do feel the Deadpool Missions from 1 should've gotten an honourable mention:
House Party Protocol
Tabloid Tidy-Up
Nuff Said
A Shock Withdrawal
Feeling Fisky
Put Up Your Dukes
Stunt Show Surprise
Reptilian Ruckus
Stranger Danger
The Thrill of the Chess
and Bro-tunheim
I thought the same thing. I think they would have bumped it up the list a little bit. Even though they're short and maybe a tad underdeveloped, they give us a short taste of characters and locations that the main story didn't have time for
I dont like the 1 million stud levels, they're too tedious for me. I prefer the ones that feel like extra story levels, but thats just me
Never played any bonus levels besides the indiana jones ones, ive enjoyed every single minute of it
Young Indy and the 60s Batman level are probably my favorite.
The Voldemort one being 3rd, I appreciate levels that have something fun narratively to offer besides JUST stud gathering and fade to black.
Force awakens had like 6 bonus missions, and 4 dlc bonus missions... Jurassic world also had 5 bonus missions, which were some running segments basically. Also lego marvel had deadpool missions
I feel like the 1 million stud bedroom level from the lego movie videogame should have been included
6:33 you were supposed to use the vehicles to use the cable to pull the bombs
that’s even less fun than just pushing them, the vehicles move so slowly and the tow mechanic is not very good
I don't know how you'd do this but maybe a video ranking the games with best post-games would be cool...? Since you dissed a lot of the superhero games for just having "expanded story" like I wanna know which game has the most replayability (i'd like to imagine it depends on like how big the HUB world is, how many bonus levels, collectables and NPC sidequests they are per game...?)
Or maybe ranking which LEGO game has the best character creator...? (though let's all be honest: DC SuperVillains would be #!1)
7:30 excuse me,... what?! Hell no, castle of doom and hostage crisis especially were some of the most fun levels out there. The mini Indiana Jones puzzle, the sniping section, the hamburger puzzle, the boss fight against Anakin, the fact you get to revisit Jabba's palace, playing Dooku and bounty hunters is so cool, the levels were decent lenght too, i dont think youre right at all saying that. Revisit these levels dude.
The million stud levels are classics
Lego marvel 1s bonus gold brick levels will always be the best
The Lego Movie Bonus Level is litterally called Bonus Room
I loved the level editor in Lego Harry Potter. I wish we got that one back. Or maybe a game that's like a mix between Lego Worlds and Mario Maker.
I'd rather it be a separate game yeah, mario maker type lego builder game would be neat.
Lego batman 1 bonus levels are almost really good for me. If the bomb section was not a thing. Nistogia can easily carry it but it introduces too much of a flaw to igonore
I really enjoyed watching this video, it was very interesting
Big Fan of bonus levels especially the harry potter games.
DC Supervillains doesn’t have three bonus levels. It has five. Also, you gave Same Bat Time, Same Bat Place points for charm, but not The Ride from Pirates of the Caribbean? Plus, Anakin’s Flight wasn’t cut from LEGO Star Wars II. It was cut from the first game.
last lego dc game had 4 bonus levels, last one being kanto's level
Its so hard seeing the Taco level from lego marvel put so low that was such a big part of my childhood
Wow, I never realized there were so many Lego games... It would be interesting to see someone do a Lego-thon charity marathon. It would probably take a long time though 😅
I stopped 100% lego games because I played through all of Lego Batman 2 got up 98 or sum and then realized my game was bugged from the literal first level… I was and still am a broken human being.
You should make some challenges for Lego dc super villains, I’d love to see some content on that game
I quite love the ninjago bonus level, sure theres no interesting parts and its kinda repititative but man its so satisfying to just destory everything so effortlessly
in lego marvel SH, u dont need to destroy everything too, great vid, keep it up mate!
Praise the fish god
wtf how many lil kids got traumatized from that ninjago screaming LOL
Wayne manor is the first bonus bonus level i ever played but yeh
1:20 But LEGO Jurassic World has a million stud challenge.
I need to get Lego Indiana Jones 2 working again because I made probably about 40 bonus levels on it when I was 10
I completely agree with the Lego Clone Wars segment
What about Deadpool levels from LMS?
I understand exluding most of the bonus levels from LEGO TFA but why not at least count the level where you fly around as Starkiller Base/Death Star and destroy planets? It's basically the same as the other levels in the "Destroy the world" category of bonus levels
Those were the best in my opinion
Lego Harry y5-7
Lego LOTR
Lego clone wars
What is the name of the song at the start?
my favorite bonus level that I have played (I don't own every lego game) was definitely lego marvel superhero its just fun to destroy
i would count the isla nublar destruction level from jurassic world
I can’t believe i completely missed that one! I’ve never beaten the game all the way through, that’s my bad
Wait there's a Lego pirates game? When did that come out?
I could never access the warehouse level in Indy 1 on the wii.
But lego movie videogame had the bonus room where you collect 1000000 studs
4:25 if cthis is not edited in this glitch makes this a horror game
wow i didnt even know these bonus levels existed 🤣
Every game that finished under Lego Batman 1 should be ashamed of itself
where are the deadpool missions from LMSH1???
You've reminded me why I will never become a speedrunner, I find your lack of patience disgusting
My favorites are DC Supervillains, Omnidroid, and the Voldemort level
Indy definitely deserved to be at the top 😎
shame you didn't rank the handheld lego games levels too, lego star wars has a HORRENDOUS bonus level that was bound for bottom tier
What's wrong with the Bonus world in Lego Movie video game? I get that it is a world not a level but is that the only reason?
It's a shame that lego indi 2 was not as good generally cause the bonus levels quality with lengo indi 1 levels would be my ideal lego game
Never played any of these bonus levels
Your missing something
@@Dangusthemateballmaster67I never 100% any of the games without Debug mode!
@@JUMPYCOOL hmm okay everyone plays Lego games differently
@@Dangusthemateballmaster67 What I mean is I have never 100% any of the games. I never use Debug.
@@JUMPYCOOL yeah I understand that and I play Lego games on console so I don’t have access to debug
Good rating but, I just gotta say, Lego Batman 3’s bonus level is WAAAYYYYY better than every single other bonus level on this list. Otherwise tho, thins is an amazing rating 🎉👍👏
I 100% agree
See i played lb1's hero bonus mission without the hovercrafts because i didnt know they had tow cables, so it was slightly better when i played them the second time but still awful
Also in the villain bonus level you can kill the goons by running them over
I agree with the list but I do think the last Indy 1 bonus stage was a massive let down, as it feels more like a test level and just thrown in rather then anything else. I wouldn't be annoyed with it but since that stage requires a full 100% beat of the game to unlock, It would've been nice to have another story game akin to the last crusade young indy level (Maybe either making the warehouse a proper level or making a level based off one of the Young Indiana Jones Tv show episodes). Otherwise, I agree
Why were the Gwenpool missions ranked but Deadpool missions from Lego Marvel 1 omitted?

@@DavidDumbedDownis that 2am, or 2 pm?
hey this is pretty cool
Lego batman 3 is my favorite bonus level
I skipped the Lego Batman 3 because i'm playing that one right now
but force awakens has the bonus level
after you collect are gold bricks
Aye, It's the Lego man
So LBM 1 just has Portal puzzles without the portals?
(If you don’t get the joke Portal is a physics based puzzle game)
Got frustrated after spending a couple hours in the bonus lego gotham city from 2 and still didnt get the 1 million studs im glad someone else understands how bad that level is :/
13:00 but the graphcis are hurting my eyes
LEGO Lord of The Rings Bonus Level:
this "level" is literally just a cutscene. You get it after 100%ing the game.
At least DCSV isnt last lets gooooo
3:32 but dc super villains has 5 bonus levels not 3 💀
did you forget Lego bionicle heroes?
I prefer every bottom insufferable mission bonus over any 1000000 studs collection one. They are just boring, have nothing to see later on and are forgettable. Playing the gwenpool bonus mission is still fun and are mini stories with thier own charm and LDCSV have more problems because the game itself then the levels, but still is more interesting. Besides it is missing the handheld games so it is incomplete aswell
3:00 *five, but it's allright, they all seem the same.
I played omnidroid rampage
he's sore about lego batman's bonus level because of grunt%
Lego Dimensions Bonus World?
I would have put lego batman 1 even lower. I was so let down by those two levels
the actual thought out bonus levels are way better than the "developers thowing a bunch of assets into a bland area while you collects some studs ig" ones
sorry complete saga, but an enitre batman '66 level destroys you here lol
Lego Star Wars one episode 4 death Vader level?????
Why didn't you include Jurassic World? That one has a bonus level.
Edit: saw another guy commenting the same thing as I have, my bad.
I would consider gold world from Lego movie 2 a bonus level but it kinda sucks anyway
Lego star wars the force awenkens have the best nonus
Bonus
I completely disagree with the Harry Potter 1 Mill stud levels.
The full lego themed aesthetic in these games is rarely fun to look at and 1-4's Voldemort level not only had more to it as a fun little extra to the story AND visually avoided looking garish like the builder levels but also too boring like Lego Batman 2's Gotham Level.
Harry Potter 5-7's level was so dull and offered me nothing entertaining for beating it unlike the silly charming scene LHP 1-4 gave me for beating the Voldemort one.
It also didn't drag on nearly as bad as some of these tend to, without being ridiculously short like Hobit's.
0:21
Feels a bit biased to place your favorite LEGO game at the top of this list, as I would say Same Bat Time, Same Bat Channel does way better. Also, you nitpicked Arkham Asylum from LBM1 for being too bright and colorful, but said nothing like that for TCS even though it had nothing to do with Star Wars. Otherwise, it was a good list.
TBF, Lego City and New Town were the first bonus levels EVER (not counting A New Hope), So I think it's understandable.
Ur a bunny now
Lego jurrasic world has a bonus level but k
Saying The Skywalker Saga traded post game content for a "more robust open world" when it's the worst and most boring open world by a long shot is
Not based tbh
eh. I liked it, it's nice having at least one game where you can explore almost every location from the movies.
Imagine a lego Harry potter game with the open world aspect and the graphics of the skywalker saga as well as with actual dialogue, fantastic beasts bonus levels or dlc. That's what I need
