  • We take a cycle into A Coruna, taking in the expansive Galician Galerias (glassed in balconies) that front the harbour. Then visit the Plaza de Maria Pita which is dedicated to the heroine Maria Pita. She played a pivotal resistance role during the English invasion in 1589 led by Sir Francis Drake. The statue in her honour is made in bronze and stands 9.31 m high. The square forms a large rectangle of more than 10 000 square metres and one facade houses the impressive Town Hall (Palacio Municipal).
We cycle on to the Tower of Hercules, one of the worlds oldest active Roman Lighthouse, taking in the impressive views from the top of the lighthouse
