      It sounds too plain, dead in the robot timing. While in the humanized timing it sounds just normal, like nothing unusual for your ear.

      They come with a ton of significant differences, even if it is trying to be a straight up adaptation without a rearrangement

      Actually used of MIDI before was not really common since they still like recording live instruments but in late 90s i guess it become common until now thats why. And there's no bas on it in addition that some rock bands in 80s especially new wave bands use midi especially drum machines.

    0:52 That's something I have also realised, I often describe my style in stuff as "controlled chaos".
    You need enough control so you get rules and patterns of what you can expect but not enough that nothing differs.

    i love to have all elements start to play together in the intro of some songs just to switch it to being off-beat as i go to get like an "OH shit we're starting" energy to it
    or a bigger delay just to highlight the suspense between when the note is supposed to hit and when it does.
