If any of you are wondering about some the watch straps, here's a video on that: ua-cam.com/video/YljR-0rv4Tw/v-deo.html
This is a stunning collection! One of the most complete i've seen.
Thanks so much for your feedback!
Now that's what you call a proper collection from a proper watch geek.
I think no collection is complete without a Seiko watch
I agree 100%!
It's not a watch collection without a seiko
I'd strongly disagree. for some reason I can't find any Seiko I'd like to have, and getting one for the sake of 'u must have one' is not a reasonable reason for me. Same goes for G-shocks, I see myself wearing one.. never.
LordArioh I take my G Shock 5600 square over my Datejust or speedy in a one watch collection all day and night.
Great collection. Another solid video Tommy.
Thanks Garry, hopefully the vids are getting better!
Super cool love the nomos!
This legitimately has about 10 of my dream watches. Congrats man!
Thanks man!
Amazing collection, well done! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Dayum! Nice collection my man!
Thanks 🙏
Excellent collection!!
🙏 Thanks!
Really great collection. Cannot fault a single choice. Throw in a IWC Portugieser as a dress watch and its perfect. Great Vid!!
Awesome collection my man!
Thanks! 🙏
Incredible collection!!
itsKibble Talks Watches Thanks!
hi sorry can I ask you where you got this beautiful watch box .... do you have a link?
you definitely should do a review each of the watch mate!! you got beautiful collection there
Thanks and will be doing in depth videos on each.
Great video, the speedy is lovely, I too have a vintage one from my birth year 1969. Not only was this the moon landing year but I wanted a DON bezel, the last ones were made in 69. Took me 5 years to find the right one and I got it 6 months ago. Could not be happier. How often to you wear yours, i'm treating mine very careful due to the age. Regards Neil from London
Hi Neil, fantastic story about your Speedy. Finding mine took about a year and one from 1969 was a potential 2nd choice due to Apollo 11. I wear mine at least weekly. It’s my most treasured material possession and something that I would never sell. Thanks for sharing!
Great collection for sure !
Thanks!
Great collection, but it looks like you have a lot of overlap (i.e. divers). I would love to see you "DUEL / 1v1" watches in your collection. (Pelagos vs Black Bay, Ingenieur vs Explorer, Speedmaster vs IWC Pilot Chrono). I'd also like to see you "rank" your watches from favorite to least favorite and why. I ask this because it looks like we have very similar taste in watches (I also own Speedmaster, 300M, Turtle, SBDC051)
Thanks and great ideas. I’ve been changing things a bit since this video and planning to do an updated SOTC video early next year and some comparisons.
Sick collection dude! We have a lot in common regarding watches and cars. What part of LA are you in? I’m about 30 minutes from downtown, as I live in North Orange County!
Have you heard of LA Watch Gang? Feel free to email me or DM me through Instagram.
That Speedmaster is amazing! How is the manual winding?
Both are buttery smooth and I don’t mind winding them, in fact, it’s almost relaxing.
what are your thoughts on anymore tudors? I.e. the bronze?- Really nice collection :)
I’m probably done with more Tudors for now, although the new BB GMT Pepsi is interesting and if I didn’t already have my 16710, I would consider it. I’m generally not a big fan of bronze watches although Tudor does it well.
Great to see a Weiss watch in there!
Gotta support local businesses, especially watchmakers!
Boss. Flawless.
Congrats on the Pepsi GMT 3186 in the 3185 case “stick” dial called the “Modern Day Rolex Anomoly “ as outlined in the article on Minus 4 , Plus 6 website. The sister watch to this one is the “Square font” Coke GMT dial. I am glad someone on UA-cam has spoken about this watch.
Thanks, the error stick dial is definitely unique and rare.
Sorry, the sister watch is the “Rectangle font” Coke. Something to search in your travels. Do not sell the Pepsi “stick.” You or your heirs will be able to sell it at Russo & Bacs (auctioneers of the Paul Newman for those who do not know). I think it will become a famous watch.
Yeah, no plans to sell it ever.
Yes, just saying it is that valuable. I know, I have both “Rectangle and Stick.”
Beautiful collection. Can you share where your bead bracelets are from? Thanks!
Thanks! The bead bracelet is from Mitty & Co. Sadly I don’t think they’re in business anymore.
Love the vid. Recently made a video on my channel about my current collection, which is much less extensive than yours, so I'm a little jealous!
Thanks, you’ve got a great collection! The Explorer 1 and Speedmaster FOIS are classics.
Awesome collection and nice video Tommy! I’m Looking to make my next purchase and I’m torn between a few watches. the iwc pilot chrono, Tudor heritage B.B black., Tudor heritage B.B. chrono (not the Monte Carlo) steel bezel version, or omega planet ocean. Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks!
Thanks! It depends on what you already have now and what you’re trying to achieve. Here are some random thoughts on each:
The design of the IWC Pilot Chrono is classic.
The Tudor BB is a good value proposition. In-house movement for a good price.
I’m not a fan of the BB Chrono. There’s too many variations of the BB and I wish the movement from the Chrono was used to update the Heritage Chrono instead.
The Omega PO is one of my favs. Had that watch before (2500 version) and highly recommended.
Thanks for your thoughts Tommy. Much appreciated
Thanks for feedback
Currently have panerai luminor 1312 with new 9000 movement, a few seikos as daily beaters and few others not worth mentioning. Looking for sports watch as a nice daily wear that could also double to dress up a little. (Not necessarily a dress watch)
Concerning the planet ocean... do you recommend newer over older or vice versa? And what size wears better? (Case diameter)
I heard a few people prefer the fit and height of the older ones.
Need to get to AD to see in person I guess
I really like the older PO’s but the new 39.5mm might be a good size for a sports watch that doubles for something dressy. I prefer the older 42mm model. Have you considered the Rolex Explorer 1? I think that’s a good combo of sport and dress. Or maybe an IWC Pilot Mark 18.
Agreed. 39 might be too small. 41-42 sounds bit better for a sports watch. Have not considered the explorer. I will get to an AD soon to try on. Thanks 👍
What is special about that particular 70s Speedmaster? Which model is it?
(black dial vers)
It’s a 145.022 from 1974, which is fairly common but special to me since it’s from my birth year and finding it was quite the hunt.
Ah I see... nice!
Great collection. Can you please tell me the brand of your watch Box.
Thanks, Watchbox is from Wolf. www.wolf1834.com/item/4585029/15-piece-watch-boxes/
You have some serious coin there !
My ears perked up when you said ‘74 Speedmaster. We share the same birth year.
Happy 44th! 😎
Woww dude that is one awesome collection you have there.
How in the hell are you gonna wear all of these pieces?
Umm, I dual wrist watches. (J/K I would be a total douchebag if I did)
How did u go about modifying the speedy to a panda 🐼
Brought all of the OEM parts when they used to be more readily available years ago and had a great local watchmaker, LA Watchworks perform the actual work.
How many watches does one need? I got 5 and it's more than enough lol
I'm not sure how I feel about this collection - in a way, it's similar to what my collection would be, if I made slightly different choices. It almost feels like not too much thought went into it? But, each to their own. I quite like that about watch collections - they are always usually unpredictable and unique to the owner.
Well, it’s been a year since this video and my collection now is pretty different. About half the watches here are gone, replaced with others. I think the overall theme remains consistent - I’m a fan of and collect stainless steel sport watches.
Thanks for watching and the feedback! Cheers!
Do you have a new video showing your collection now Tommy?
Not yet. It’ll probably be out in a month?
Cool collection! Congratulation! I also did a video about my watch collection.
is the second hand not center on thr omega
On the 1974 Speedmaster? It’s ever slightly off center but I’m not super anal about it. Planning to get it fixed during the next service interval.
a guy named Tommy yeah im to anal buying watches cant be like that nice video love your watches
It was actually perfect when I brought it years ago. But the last service made a mistake and I decided to leave be. Thanks for the comments!
That tattoo looks like Lord of the Rings elvish writing. What is it?
Nice catch! It is.
@@aguynamedtommy What does it say?
Wow great collection it’s been awhile u haven’t update.love all the pieces except the Wiess and autodromos shitter ditch that Piece give that to someone
"The 31-hundred series of movements from Rolex is really unrivaled in terms of performance and reliability". You know if you hear a lie repeated enough times, it eventually becomes the "truth"... at least a warped reality version. School time - for the 31xx series you are looking at about a 48 hour power reserve from a pretty bog standard Swiss lever escapement. There's a good reason why Rolex are going to the 32xx movements for all their sports models, and will continue that trend at Baselworld 2019. Going from 48 to 70 hours of power reserve, and reducing friction and improving magnetic resistance, and increasing accuracy and reliability. 31xx is nothing special. Omega's new 8xxx movements such as the 8900 in the Planet Ocean might have something to do with it - conservatively 60 hours of power reserve, 15,000 gauss antimagnetic resistance, and the friction-less co-axial escapement, and has METAS Master Chronometer certification which is preferable in may if not all ways to Rolex's own Superlative Chronometer certification. You made an honest mistake, but you need to educate yourself better.
Lie? No, I stand by my opinion. Simply because you disagree doesn’t make it a lie.
There’s a reason why the Rolex 3100 movements have been in the market for over 30 years now. Sure it’s a pretty standard design now, but it’s proven to be very accurate and reliable. I find it pretty amazing that it’s just an accurate as the 8800 movement powering my new SMP or the 8400 in my Seamaster 300. It’s doesn’t have the longer power reserve and anti-magnetic properties but it’s timeless in its simplicity. All this doesn’t mean that there isn’t always something better out now or on the horizon. All products, and the technologies that drive them, will continue to evolve. I expect nothing less and Omega is one of the leaders here and will continue to push the boundaries.
The ultimate test is time - let’s come back in 25 years to see how these new movements perform against the test of time and we’re see.
