I have followed all instructions but, when I open the Plugin XP2Earth, in X Plane, the "Tracking" is not working. If I click "Connect Earth" ,this works and Google Earth opens immediately ...but ...in Katmandu.... Of course ,,without "Tracking" , I can't fly. Somebody has a suggestion? Thanks Bruno
I have investigated on port 8000 of my pc where XPlane is running ,and Google Earth runs properly (alone). Here the my findings : 1) status:listening 2) firewall: allowed without limitations 3) antivirus installed in the pc : not using that port 4) that port is used by :Driver Support AO.exe 5) protocol:TCP . I don't see reasons why the "button" Tracking of the plugin XP2Earth is not working (but I am not an expert) ;any suggestion? Thanks a lot for your attention
Ron Burnam no, that is not possible. Google Earth also lmiits the frames per second so it is not a full replacement of the scenery. I use it as a kind of sightseeing window.
P.S. To have the Plugin TRACKING connected to Google Earth, should I modify something on XP Settings: for example on CONFIGURATION -DATA OUTPUT , should I activate (click) line20: Latitude,Long ? or activate line 21:Location,Velocity? Or ,on Network Connection , should I modify the IP Address? Thanks
There is nothing to change in the settings. If you select "Tracking" in the XP2Earth plugin menu, do you see a white dot in front of the text? That indicates that tracking is active. Then, check in Google Earth if you see in the "Places" sidebar list a section called "Temporary Places" that has a "XPlane tracker" inside. That should be active (checkmark and moving little ball)
@@Djeez2 Thanks for your feed back. My problem is that the plugin TRACKING is not working: there is not a white dot in front ; in addition I see that the word TRACKING is written in grey letters while CONNECT EARTH (just below) is written in white letters and ,with a click on it , GOOGLE EARTH opens ... but in Eindhoven Airport ,while my plane is in LIPH (Italy). In the section "Temporary Places" I can see the line "XPlane tracker" but it doesn't move the airplane which remains in Eindhoven instead of LIPH. Thanks for your attention.
@@carlobaroncini949 The reason that the menu item is disabled is because the plugin could not open port 8000 for communication with Google Earth. Do you have other programs using that port or maybe have some firewall protection running for that port? You should allow connections to port 8000.
Looks good! - Can you confirm that if running on a remote Google Earth machine that the .kml file needs to be residing on the same Google Earth machine and the localhost needs to point to the XPlane machine? What about the .kml file on the X-Plane machine - does that remain there or should it be removed from the plugins folder?
You copy the kml file to the google earth computer and change “localhost” to the IP address of you XP computer using a text editor. To start, click Tracking in the plugin menu but do not connect to Google Earth. On your other computer start Google Earth and load the edited kml file. That will connect to your XPlane computer.
@@Djeez2 would be good to have an "altitude auto/manual" option to allow the pilot to either provide the view from current altitude or be able to input a specific altitude - I assume the pilots view option does something with altitude?
@@flytrapster6234 Yes, pilot view moves the eyepoint lower and straightens the view while scenic view moves the eyepoint up and tilts the view slightly down
No, it does not. Ortho4XP changes the scenery within X-Plane while this plugin lets you view the world in a separate window. So, for example you will not see the your cockpit in this view.
In the beginning of the video you see that it runs on my left screen while X-Plane is running on the right screen. Of course you can also swap that or have both windows running on the same screen.
I don’t have a VR headset but I think Google Earth does not support VR. If it does you can use it but you will not be able to see the cockpit instruments.
One of the best plugins I have. By the way, I also have in XP 12 and works perfect. Thanks.
fantastic I no longer need to invest my money in FS2020 ... thank you very much for uploading this video
Thanks for the great tutorial!

Same result here. "Tracking" is greyed out.

I wonder if it works with Google Earth VR?
That really looks cool. Any way to get that scenery onto the X Plane 11 screen?

So does this replace Otho4XP or not?

Wo kann ich xp2earth downloaden finden
Search for xp2earth on x-plane.org
Gonna be honest seems kind of pointless if the scenery isn't injected to the sim
does it work in vr
