@@PunmasterSTP I did teach but I have also written articles and books on my hometown's transportation system. It really is interesting, a mix of political and economic history and a bit of history of technology
The hardest part of any city builder always was, remains, and always will be, coming up with the name. I loved the long pause while Adam tries to figure out what to call his new city XD
I feel more nostalgia for 3000 than Simcity 4 even though I was much older and more capable playing 4 when it first came out. Just something special about the music and UI that brings me back to the late 90s and the beginning of the 2000s.
Same here! I was a kid when I first played this in 2002/3. I didn’t get SC4 til almost 2007, so I had a good chunk of nostalgia with 3000. Happier times 😢
Was it only me who, whenever the music changed to something more sinister and darker, I always thought something bad was going to happen? It wasn’t until years after I started to play the game, that I realised the music was in a continuous loop that wasn’t related to any disasters.
I felt that in the beginning about to click the check mark and realize your city name is New City. then trying to think of a clever name. Wayston hahah wastin' time. best I could ever come up with is Coolsville
Aww memories. My parents bought the display model computer so it just had this game on there. I grew up thinking everyone had this game on their computer lol. Good times :’)
This game is even some two years older than me, yet I prefer it over the so extremely overhyped Cities: Skylines.. Thank you, older sister, for having a good taste in games I would otherwise probably never know

I used to play this all the time when I was a kid, and oh man the nastalgia is real in the music and sounds that each action makes.
The gameplay combined with the soundtrack guaranteed you'd lose track of time while playing
For real, I always tell myself “Ok 30 minutes why not” then, 3 hours later 😅
This game provides such a relaxing feeling.
... Except when you're going mad trying to get a piece of real estate to have astronomical land value.

I miss this game, EA Games ruined it, Cities: Skylines isn't enough compared with this. I was happy, I didn't know it.
