I just want a super cheap Model 2
with a range of 150 miles?
@@dennisdunbar2340 If it's a coupe, 2 + 2. It should have at least 200 miles if it has a compact battery/"lightweight" battery and motor.
@@streetguru9350 I would think it would be no more than 200 miles as the rear-wheel drive model 3 is rated at 272 with a 57.5kWh battery. My guess is it will have a 40-45kWh battery, no heated seats, and only available in rwd. I could be wrong
@@dennisdunbar2340 Works for me. I usually drive cars from the 2000s with no tech that are super cheap.
@@streetguru9350now you're just wishful. The most expensive part of the car is the battery, if you want a super cheap car, it will come at the cost of a smaller battery and range. They've taken air resistance about as far as they can, next efficiency is with battery chemistry or electric motor, and if there's a breakthrough with those, they'll go to the more premium models first
I was promised OTA by Audi for my Q4 two years ago. I haven't received ONE OTA in the last two years. Audi straight out lied to me and their other customers.
Using Siri and Shortcuts I already have hands-free locking and unlocking my trunk and charger, unlocking my frunk, and cracking my windows. Tesla already has the Shortcuts made for the app. Easy peasy.
A power frunk should be standard on Tesla vehicles. When you get stuff out you don't have both hands free so you can't close the lid the way Tesla says to do.
Put it on the ground behind you? Most stuff in frunk shouldn't be so big and heavy that it requires two hands anyway
@@PrincessNadora Not practical when the ground is wet or dirty, or if you have bad joints.
@@PrincessNadoraalso, even if you grabbed your cargo with one hand, Tesla's official closing method requires both hands so a powered frunk is a must.
I don't think a robotaxi fleet needs a wireless charger. One person can act as the plugger, security guard, and cleaner.
Wireless charging has too many heat issues in low voltage.😂.
I thought the same thing... then I researched and discovered Oak Ridge Nat'l Labratory (ORNL) has achieved 94% wireless efficiency at 100kW charging Hyundai Kona. Same article points out Tesla Model Y Performance test by Car & Driver achieves about 86% efficiency. (AKA 14% loss)
Ryan Shaw, nice content my guy
5:36 either its bad test drivers...or FSD / Robo Taxi rubbing curbs!! LOL
I thought M3 rims just came like that 😂
@@DurfDiggler i curbed mine once in the first week... .right in front of alll my friends. it was the first time they even knew i had a new car lol
First thing I noticed too 😂 dat curb rash.
@@pvic6959 ouch! Yeah, getting used to a car’s corners takes time. I guess that’s what paint/repair shops are for!
Go back to a round steering wheel, problem solved.
Yep and a side benefit, most people want round. For me, after I’m exiting a turn I nearly always let the wheel slip back to resume straight driving. Can’t do that with a yoke. There’s a reason no other mfg has ever used one.
Surely Optimus could plug in a charger for a Robotaxi
Or just the upper half and one arm is the charging pedestal lol
and clean my window and pump up my tires. While wearing some funny gas station guy clothes.
They should just have Optimus be your chauffeur. Self-driving solved!
Thanks Ryan. Informative as usual. Also, nice shirt!
I am familiar with an individual who is currently engaged in the engineering of electric vehicles for a prominent semi-truck manufacturing company. Contrary to popular belief, the performance of these vehicles is not the primary focus. Instead, the emphasis lies on the integration of modern rail systems with embedded electric vehicles within the track. This approach offers significantly improved efficiency in grading compared to traditional freeway passes.
The “affordable ev” is a used ev according to the resale rates. So they should abandon that plan.
The Avg Tesla price, pre-tax incentives is still cheaper than Avg ICE car being sold. IOW, MANY EVs are actually less expensive than most traditional gas powered cars. Plus operating costs are significantly cheaper and can even optionally be locked in by generating energy yourself at home. Why defend oil industry? Oh, you're likely just another a bot
Maybe Optimus will hale an autonomous ride on 10/10. ;-)
What about that specialised flat-proof tire that they were supposedly working on with an established tire manufacturer? And the self-cleaning feature?
The tire wasn’t something they were working on with Michelin. Michelin just said they are when they weren’t. Great idea thoigh
Couldn't Tesla include sensors in the steering wheel so as soon as you touch it with both hands it will auto set to the direction the wheels are in when it is in autonomous FSD mode?
Possibly. A bit of a conflict if you are making a correction to the left and it's forcing the wheel to the right at the same time. But you just wait for it to correct and then you correct. But usually these are emergency corrections at least in my case.
When will the event be
Make supercharger v5.0 be a legless Optimus robot with one arm, that plugs in the charger.
Wireless charging would be great at home. We just need it to be able to plug in to an outlet.
LOL! Your sponsor... If I put anything scented in my car, my wife would have a melt-down.
Edit: I talked to a friend of mine that owns a transport company. They run about 200 semi trucks. We did a bit of quick math and realized that our power utility would have to install a dedicated sub-station just to charge that many trucks. Sure, he likes the idea of a whole lot less maintenance and instant torque, but the cost of the equipment just to keep the trucks charged is a whole lot more than he can lay out at this time.
Key words... "At This Time!" (Or, based on current Prices & Projected Costs!)
@@robertweekley5926 That's right. I do expect things to get better. Another way to cut costs would be to cover the roofs with solar pannels and put up a solar canopy over the entire yard. A megapack or two could be buried on site to provide power when the sun isn't shining.
Cybertruck took 4 years (2 years longer than expected) because industry was first chip contrained then battery constrained.
So it unlocks the frunk. Not opens. Got it!
wireless charging is dumb power drops of exponentially so very quickly unless you have an overly complicated thing that raises up to minimize distance you'll be wasting a ton of energy charging wirelessly
You are right with the current technology but there is room for growth. It is their answer to make the robotaxi self sustainable without a need for a human at this time. I wouldn’t get one for the home but makes sense for the robotaxi.
There’s got to be a way. Why is it overly complicated to lift up? The Tesla can communicate to the charger when it is turned off and on. It seems a relatively simple scissor type lift could be implemented in the charge plate.
I have a simple question... If you were you have FSD in your car, would there a possibility of it going out to be an Uber driver and help the owner make side money? I work as a Doordasher and having something like this would be helpful in making sure I'm able to pay for bills and such
Im still waiting for the massaging seats!
The high position of the cameras on roof racks could point to a minivan/minibus?
Tesla is way behind in battery power semis. Volvo battery semis are the leaders in that segment!
Tessy is way behind in everything that will increase stock value. $300 is an insurmountable ceiling for many more years as they continue working to reach their present valuation.
Additionally, about 1% of the population know or cares about fsd, and without $100 billion spent on advertising, thats not going to change. Tessy isnt Coke or Pepsi. Word of mouth is non-existent for Tessy.
I love Tesla but I don't understand what's going on. Waymo seems to be light years ahead. I Waymo at least once a week here in Phoenix.
Waymo is geo locked. Tesla’s FSD will be full AI with real world feedback
@@goorackereliteThat's what's been claimed for the past 7+ years. Talk is talk. Unless FSD starts autonomously taking taxi passengers places (geofenced or not), it'll always be behind Waymo.
@@goorackerelite following your narration, i would say,
"Waymo WILL be operating in every corner of the world. No geo lock what so ever."
Does Tesla need a permit to operate driverless on private property? I don't know California laws, but I would have assumed not. Just a good contract with WB Studios.
As far as I know, the police have NOTHING to say about what happens on private property unless they are called in. It's not a public roadway. This is how things like race tracks can exist.
At 10:00 minutes talking about keeping the yoke stationary but then intervening would be very confusing and not practical. This is hilarious because if you go all the way back to a round steering wheel and make the "spokes" inside the steering wheel some symmetrical pattern that's hard to see up from down on the wheel it would work. With the existing yoke granted, awkward at best in theory I think it can at least work. You take over and move the yoke to correct or whatever you are doing which disengages FSD as usual. Then the soonest you re-engage FSD you let go of the yoke and it repositions to "center" or the correct position. Another idea you press a button on the yoke and it centers or goes the correct position. So it's at least not impossible to do this idea. It works best if you never take over or rarely have to which is the entire idea of FSD eventually.
I just want to say thank you for another great video. And thank you for covering technology only. You do a great job!
Why does Telsa roll out a blinker stalk in the Model 3 instead of software updates
Why isn't Optimus walking around doing the mapping. Surely can't be hard to teach it to do that?
17:05 Hyundai great achievement in 2025 models :) :) 7 mile more range :) :)
you do know in EV how difficult that is considering keeping the same battery pack and weight?
@@physics77guy silly bollocks ,educate yourself
@@Bemx2k I work in batteries, I don't know how much education I need

Funny how in the US the police is a "road danger".
They're an everything danger unless you run into the few that know how to do the job properly.

Tesla should be fixing their fault on the safety restraints on left and right seats, which should be a. Safety recall and not something customers should have to pay for. in some cases that the wires underneath the seat get pinched and Tesla is quoting $2600 for a new seat. That’s just crazy….just fix the damn wires
9:55 Wait, Elon Musk said something half baked on social media? Tell me again, why does anyone maintain a twitter account, with so much of it purely noise.
The computer would adjjust the wheel to where you would expect it to be.
No hands free entry for Model Y in China (2024) because they don't come with the needed tech. Ultra Wide Band something or other.
Ur code isn’t working brother!!!!!!!
What are they going to do when a Tesla decides to throw those semis in there with the robo taxi? And then you see those semis running without any drivers? You just need someone to load and unload it? That's going to change an entire industry then!
Btw, loader teams are usually different than rig drivers.
They will use tesla bots for that
Love the sponsor product. However the marketing people are foolish and they put people like me off buying. So many setup questions and potential pitfalls in their process before I ever get to see the product. If not for your very well done promo video i wouldn’t know anything about Drift.
I want an update to Apple Music in the car so it stops playing the same song over and over. One should be able to tap the current song and go to the artist. All artists names be in red to go to the artist page.
Anyone else having trouble with this?
Anyone use this drift air freshener?

really scrapin the bottom of the barrel whemn it comes to sponsors.
The Robotaxi isnt possible. So they mat reveal it in October but will sell the car without it being a Robotaxi. Otherwise they risk a catastrophe of a model build that doesnt work. I could see a RoboTaxi as a shuttle service, best case, to know pickup points and airport or venue destinations only
Get it Tesla 🕺🏾🕺🏾🕺🏾🕺🏾😎
Along with our Tesla we own a 22 xc40 recharge after hearing the news about 2030. We will NOT buy another Volvo. This was simply a lie that they pushed on customers. Wont be back.
Still wondering what the fsd class action will look like.
Tessy stock is hot garbage.
If youre investing today, be prepared to wait 6+ years to see any return. The stock is already 100% overvalued, and that will take years to absorb
+1 for wireless HOME CHARGING
👍👍🔥
Hard to spring for a Tesla given Elon's idiotic political statements. Kia and Hyundai look better all the time
wireless charging a car… are we for real? some of this makes me not want to take delivery in a few days lmao
why are here so many negativ people in the comments? What‘s not to like and be excited for? fsd seems amazing, makes progress, runs even on hw3 (was hoping for that, but didn‘t believe it till I saw it). I am a happy man. You can buy an old used m3 for cheap and have all the software and fsd fun. Looking forward to 10/10.
@kiloy1006 "your comment makes me wonder... do u not keep your eyes on the road when fsd is on...? You solely rely on fsd whole time? If you think FSD is truely safer driver than you, in my opinion, you should stop driving....." Sorry about replying in the wrong place, I couldn't figure out how to get to your reply.
I'm confused why you think I don't understand the word "supervised". Of course I keep my eyes on the road! I don't know if I mentioned it, but my other car is a Cayman S, which I also enjoy driving.
Getting robo-taxi to work is not the only problem, you still have to make a profit and not have it taken away by endless lawsuits. It's a waste of money and resources. At this point Elon has sunk cost bias.
With that mentality your advice is to have no one move forward with the technology because it doesn’t make financial sense. Someone has to get the ball rolling and pioneer it. Atleast Elon moving forward with tech we never thought would come in our lifetime. Others will follow and learn to improve it.
Ppl said the same thing about the cars, rockets, starlink, neurolink, energy business ECT. Is there a possibility you may be wrong and he's right?
@cmac9710 Elon post pic of aerospace magazine cover on X :
"Can tiny Space X rock Boeing?"

Then 20 years later : "Nasa chose Space X to pick stranded Boeing astronauts up in ISS instead using Starliner"

@@cmac9710 We shall see.
@@Vindicated002 WayMo is already doing it, let them lose all the money and take all the risk.
Another rushed event...its better to be right than first.
I haven’t heard what Tesla is doing with their semis so there is not another 16 hour fire closing a highway like what happened recently in Northern California. Are there any modifications going to be made, or should we assume it could happen again?
Very good question
They should do the same thing when an ICE semi catches fire, which happens tens of thousands of times more frequently. And several hundred gallons of diesel burn, or when the hazmat load it’s pulling spills or burns. Highways shut down in many cases for an entire day, especially in the event of a fatality.
Lastly - to my knowledge the investigation is still ongoing on the single event you mentioned. The only info is media bias articles since it was a Tesla.
Elon Musk is the biggest joke
More Rivian news please. Auto frunk/trunk sucks given unintended opening. All Teslas need mechanical retrofit open and close. FSD should be free. I have it and can’t use it with passengers because it fails.
Ryan, robotaxi is not a “new vehicle” nobody I know gives a lick. Sorry to be blunt, but that’s how it is. Thoughts? I think Tesla might consider discounting new purchases for us folks that have waited for 5+ years for “full self driving” that is still not truly here. Give my 10K back and let me buy a new Tesla!
Screw wireless charging. more silly games and other faffing around. How about making the display more readable - no more grey letters in small fonts on a brilliant white background, glare reduction, voice prompts instead of beeps and boops, and leaving error messages in larger fonts which stay visible until acknowledged? We likely won't see that since Tesla is Hell bent on removing the human element. Very poor indeed.
I never had any issue reading the screen maybe a magnifying overlay or a eye doctor visit for corrective lenses
@@alexjeffs7092 Good for you, but not everyone is under 40 or has perfect vision. WMD reduces the ability to shift focus quickly or tolerate glare, pal/
🎉😢❤
I am interested to see the development of 3rd party hacks/mods.
Imho tesla is missing these improvements. Enginext/ ingenext has tied the u.s.s. to allow a handfree frunk/trunk open if parameters are met. Dusty memory has elon agreeing that they could have vented windows close when moisture sesnors used for wipers detect rain while away from parked car.
With imagination there are some cool improvements waiting to cone to our "old cars" lol
Google WayMo and GM Cruise are years ahead according to FSD experts! Some FSD experts say that Tesla is just beginning to using Lidar sensors!😮 Both WayMo and Cruise been using Lidar for years already!
