- Cocolia Was an amazing boss in Honkai: Star Rail... and was honestly comparable to even the best bosses in Genshin Impact! I loved the music, and the cutscenes were awesome. This is my reaction to beating Cocolia! #honkaistarrail

Admittedly, I didn't have an issue with the way Genshin does the new elements until this boss right here.
Star Rail showed just how impactful it is when it's tied to the story. It feels like something epic and hype to have a whole cutscene dedicated to it, the main character nearly dying moments beforehand. And like the other guy said, it's so rewarding to see a new power obtained in the story, and to get to KEEP that power.
They really should've made the Traveler's elements tied to the story like the paths are here.

@@ItsXetren I honestly love that we use a different weapon goo, not just the same bat (or sword in Genshin). I want to see what other cool weapons we get when wielding other elements.

I just realized after watching this so many times, that Cocolia starts with the Fire MC weapon (just frozen) which is the reason she can control the robot. Then the reason why the MC "awakens" it's because she shot the weapon into them.
It flew past me the first time I played it
She abandoned the path of preservation so her weapon and the engine of creation became unusable (so dealing no damage to mc), while mc, trying to save everyone, on the brink of death connected with the will of previous belobog guardian (who i believe to be Siril tho) through that weapon and gained blessing of the Qlipoth, changing his path from destruction to preservation. Such clever and epic moment, i love it so far

If the mc actually dies something(speaks atleast) you feel more invested in the story. I just love the mc man, more than any gacha character. MC main😂

The trash can dialogue and the hotel scene truly shows the MC chaotic personality.

Crazy how the Trailblazer has developed more in personality and character in just a few hours than the Traveler has in over 2 years.

Ever since i saw this, i searched literally everg night since this reaction, this boss is crazy and its not that easy, also the voice acting and song are amazing, theres so much stuff thats amazing about this boss, i would also say that the story and bosses in this game look, feel better.

It's not easy for f2p and it's fun that way, I've seen people one shotting her with Multiple eidolons Seele, and it just doesn't look fun imo
@@alvinvalentino5797 as an f2o myself i agree that it's not the most easiest.. maybe coz i havnt got the resources to build my characters properly but i think my team can handle it in average.
My team is seele, himeko, Clara and Natasha
But i use Tingyun instead of himeko for this boss and could build fire mc indtead of Clara and it will be much much better
No Paimon means no extra boring dialogues and that's a win for me, not because i hate reading but because her dialogues are so unnecessary and it's giving me carpal tunnel.

This is so true. I want Aether/Lumine to be the main characters thank you very much. The twins doesn't need to be SO passive.
I mean, people in final moments of Honkai were talking about needing a Paimon to repeat all the in-universe stuff in an understandable way, she does what she needs to do for people that simply don't get some concepts.
@@gltterati Especially because they should have more personality than the Trailblazer. They both have a complex past that's actually very important for the story, Trailblazer is more of a blank slate, but is a way better protag.
First boss and they already surpassed Genshin in epicness of all the cutscenes. And boy, the story! it discusses the complexity of politics and how leaders sometimes need to lie to keep the hope alive. And that "ending" isnt really all "happy and perfect", it shows that there will be challenges ahead. So far, 10/10. Great job HSR!!
BTW, I was forced to use MC for that fight when I left her at level 10. All in all, that was worth it.

Not to spoil anything but beating the story (of how much of it is out at this point) i can tell: this is the most epic battle in hsr so far

@@Paula43082 there are quite a lot of epic stuff before and after, but this one is a peak of current story content. Can't wait for more chapters to be added.
I hope each soundtrack is a play on emotions. I want the next fight to be a sad, unfortunate fight, therefor using a more sad soundtrack. I don't mean slow dance sad.... Think of the Zuko vs Azula fight.

every time u complete a companion quest the character will be standing with pom pom, if u talk to the character there you'll get 10 extra stellar jade
The Natasha's quest is probably the best character quest in Honkai rn. I didn't think it would be so dark.

My favorite part about this story that unlike genshin even though u solved the world problem, there was like not even a happy ending there, cause in genshin it always works out for everyone HAPPY ENDING FOR ALL THERE NEVER STAKES, but in this game it goes out of its way multiple times to say that the planet is not even close to being good again (this chapter also shows who March is because she barely had a reaction and little sympathy and made it feel like just another mission done and everything's good again (even though it's not and bronyas whole life just ended in like a few days) what I am trying to say it shows how March dosent really get it that much unlike Dan who understands how it all worked but silently and Mc literally had a option of saying "I can't think of anything funny to say which is kinda a good way to show how bad the situation is.
The reason I just have no trust on genshin story. I stopped caring when Inazuma story become whatever it was. So much potential on making darker story line, yet they ruined it halfway
Yeah, I couldn't believe that part, and I haven't seen anyone else talk about it. Bronya's mother just died and she went all 'good job team'. For me, it was quite the whiplash seeing how she's normally so eager to help people.
Admittedly, they weren't close enough to care for Cocolia, but she could've at least kept silent out of respect for Bronya, their friend.

Paimon is the worst npc in any game. So annoying and cant mute. Makes genshin story super skipable because a stupid npc you cant turn off. Its sad

The chills I got while doing this fight were... Immeasurable. Almost 3 years of Genshin and I have never seen anything like it. For a sec I got to have faith in HoYoverse again.
This is how they treat the Honkai side of things.

Why are you still playing Genshin if you don't feel anything? I've gotten chills from Genshin moments quite a few times so it's not because they don't exist.
Had the exact same reaction with this boss fight. I lost my mind at the way we got the power of Preservation and it makes me look forward to the future stories of how the MC will get all the paths/elements. Also, agree with your take on the storyline and story telling. Paimon makes everything drag on 10x longer than it has to and the whole “Will I ever find my sibling?” does make things feel like we’re never getting to the end. Glad that HSR looks like it’s more focused on individual adventures that slowly hint towards a bigger storyline.

SO vibing with the battle boss music, love it!! I really enjoyed the boss fight and the story sounds good.
After 10 years a multi stage boss fight that transitions this well with the music has never been this epic again until now. Hoyoverse don't miss with these fire soundtracks.
Not at all surprised by how good the soundtrack is given how HI3 had some of the best original songs in games. I'm sure there'll be even more absolute bangers in future patches
When I was fighting Cocolia and the music came out, I really didn’t expect it to be that big of a banger! I was feeling hella engaged and hyped throughout the whole thing. Hoyo never disappoints when it comes to making music
This was an amazing experience. Aside for the whole sequence being amazing, the music is insane and they take cues from Persona 5 Royal and Metal Gear Rising by adding a first face instrumental and the second phase being with vocals and by timing the music to the battle's developments. This is a fucking F2P game, can't wait to see what else they have up their sleeve.

Basically summed up how everyone feels about Genshin.
I did that fight yesterday and it's so damn good! Crazy to think that is the first major boss fight in the game (not including the Doomsday Beast or Mr Svarog). Makes me excited to see what else we're gonna face later on! Also, after you hit a certain level, you can replay that fight at harder difficulty. It's basically like this games version of the Dvalin weekly boss fight in Genshin
the way i hollered during the cutscene where the tb climbed the robot thingy with the rest of the company helping them out like dang genshin never gave me this hype on the story quests
+ the bop osts and hilarious dialogues 😂😂

I completely fell in love with honkai star rail after this quest. It was sooooo good
So far I like this game way more than genshin and honkai 3rd, only thing I find annoying is the fact that they still haven't moved past timegates, however it seems they learned with the free stamina drops not expiring and being way more accessible.
My god... the OST in this Boss Fight was so fucking good 🤩
best part is that you can even farm this boss fight for materials so you can hear again this song 😁

As someone who has been playing competitive games for a while , seeing someone geniunely excited about a game is refreshing and i feel the same way ever since starting the game a few days ago.
Glad to see tashman enjoying HSR. It would be really cool if he covers both Genshin and HSR whenever there's new content in any of these games. Maybe we can explore some new ones like wuthering waves too when it comes out .
The music, the fight and the story. I got to tell you, it was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details.

I never have any issue with Genshin story telling and how they present it. But now after playing star rail and looking at how the MC obtain the new power. It's a part of the story and It feels more impactful unlike just go to the statue touch it and boom new power.. kinda sad thinking both game are from the same company.. but i understand since Genshin gain its popularity by it's own and they won't change that because it already been done.. so no more wishful thinking. Both game are good and im happy for star rail success..

Love how the music flows along with the cutscenes and gameplay.
The production values for this is insane, enjoyed it alot when I experienced this portion of the game
The music drop made me H Y P E and when you finish the story you get the song for your astral express so obviously I automatically put it on
the story gets better too. the setup in the second area (after this one) is really cool. the idea Kafka and her leader and what they're doing is so interesting

This game truly has exceeded my expectations. I thought the turn based concept would suck, but itz really so immersive. And the story is just so so better it doesn't give u any other bullshit than just the main plot. I really luv this game.

I agree with this game vs genshin story, I feel like the characters actually have a place in Star rails story and the chapters feel like they get to the point. I also always prefer when the story is about the characters themselves in the grand scheme. I love Genshin but the story is by far the part i like the least and it feels like the characters are just there to add more dialogue. I was hoping Star rail would fix it by having a skip dialogue option but you dont need that when the story is good 😂

I can't agree with most of the comments and just dumping on Genshin.
Don't get me wrong I LOOOOVED this boss fight in HSR, epic music, epic boss and epic cutscene, and I'm glad Mtashed enjoyed it as much as it is.
But it's the exact same as Genshin... Yes the first part of Genshin was not that Epic (It was Hoyoverse first take on this kind of gameplay), but when you get to Childe, Jade Chamber, Inazuma (even the world quests) and finally Sumeru with Nahida ! It has everything GREAT SONG (The boss songs are amazing! Azdaha, Raiden, Scaramouche), great story, epci scene and really sad scene !
I can understand the point on Paimon being annoying (Even if I don't find her THIS annoying). It's funny how people just dump on Genshin just because HSR do some better things,... The reality is that it's just a new fresh game and people got bored of Genshin, but don't be fools,... You'll be bored of it at some point and all your takes will not age like fine wine lol
Anyway HSR is AMAZING, and Genshin too ! Both are great game ! At the same level for me !

I just wanted to let you know that there seems to be a mission that comes everyday which gives you 50 stellar jade EVERYDAY
(its the mission of that geomarrow cart)
Also apparently you can actually play a boxing game in the boxing arena in underground belobog and get jade aswell
and these two seems to replenish after a period of time.
Ngl Mtashed would be so good at voice acting a character like King Leonidas or Kratos
First time in years (I think) that I've ever struggled on a "first boss" in a gacha game, and I loved every second of it
You have to feel bad for Cocolia, the stellarion has been in her head for years and she had no one to turn to.
Bronya was fortune that circumstances led her to Seele and the the Trailblazers.
I'm still shocked and bewildered that this is how this game is STARTING.
This was a great moment for me. The fight was reasonably challenging and the story arc was compelling
i guess what people dislike is that in the genshin story plot its one target like ' finding our sibling' and whatever so we go through ALL the nations in search and we do stuff along the way so it one story through 7 nations but in honkai its littrely we go to one place with the 'destroy stelleron' goal and just do the story of that location so its more to the ppoint and not were going to release the story in bits so nyahh lol
yea this boss fight sold me on the game, definitely gonna keep playing it for a while
I now need the Paimon Trailblazer that repeats everything the characters say, without a skip function. XD
