Good point. I think because white still has two checkers on the 18, her position is not as amenable to blitzing. If the two white checkers on the 18 are moved to the midpoint, all the checkers are closer to the zone, making a blitz easier.
@@AlexEshaghianBackgammonWhite already has 10 checkers in the zone, so it's a quite serious blitz threat already. If you move the checkers from 18 to 13 and leave the rest untouched, I think it's a pass regardless of whether the checkers are on 3 and 10 or 4 and 11.
Yeah, I was just thinking from the take side. It all makes sense. It's slightly easier to reach the higher points from the mid and you take away one open point in the contact zone, so there are fewer things that can go wrong. Cool variations.

You're right. It turns out to be a big pass when the checkers are on the 3 and 10, and too good when they are on the 4 and 11.
