There are 3 moves you could consider 6/4 13/11 19/17 6/4 leaves no additional blot in the contact zone and if you get one of the blots hit, you already have the other one as a slot to make anchor, in addition to a greater chance for return shots. White only has a chance to hit the extra blot in red's inner board if red hits a shot. And if white doesn't hit, a 2 will make the 4-point. 13/11 has the upside of having a slot for an anchor if one checker gets hit, but it exposes one extra blot in the contact zone. 19/17 gives fewer return shots and also reduces the chances to make an anchor if hit. As Chris Trencher mentioned in the analysis, making an anchor is crucial.
You must consider the opponent's next roll as part of the market losing sequence. Many numbers force white to clear the midpoint, leaving the two back checkers stranded in a hopeless position.
