      @@knownuniverse93 Right on. I love the series as a whole. It has been my favorite show of all time since it aired, and to me the cancellation is still the biggest blunder and travesty in television. I don't care so much for television anymore, as it is almost entirely uninspired trash and propaganda, but man Carnivale, Deadwood, Rome all within a few years, and all three canceled. Never looked at HBO the same after that. Carnivale was truly ahead of it's time, and anybody who participated in making the show should be very proud.

    Greetings from Ireland - this is beautiful. It reminds me of Sean Nós (Old Style) singing in Irish. Even in the earliest written records its was referred to as Old Style, so its really ancient. Bulgarians should be very proud to have this music as part of their heritage.

    • @6tttchik
      @6tttchik Рік тому

      I too thought it was beautiful. I heard it on the Amazon/Crave series "Carnivale" and was mesmerised by it when I heard it at the end of the Season 1, Episode 4 called "Black Blizzard". I wasn't sure what the influence was but thought it somewhat resembled some kind of mystic ancient Irish Celtic music. And, have now found out I was quite wrong.

  • @richardspooner4822

    I too simply had to find out where that track from Carnivale came from. It was like hearing Ave Maria, Handel's Hallelujah or Pie Jesu, among others, for the first time. This is an astonishingly beautiful song. I am not religious but sense something spiritual or other-worldly when I hear beautiful music like this. And there are a number of other wonderful choral compositions on the Mystere album. Great stuff!

      The scene from Carnivale, in which this song came up, is heartbreaking.
      I think that combination - song and film - in that particular scene, to be one of the most powerful scenes of the whole Carnivale-production.

    My favorite song from carnivale! Fits the scene at the end of black blizzard so well. That scene truly brings tears to my eyes still. Clancy brown is amazing as the villain who is more heroic, and in many ways a better person than Ben. But his fate is already set in stone. But it's actually sad seeing this guy born into evil trying so hard to do good until it consumes him.

    Hello, please remove the photo from the video as it doesn't correspond to the content. The present picture is from the CD cover of "Portrait of Nikolay Kaufman", one of the main composers of "The Mystery of Bulgarian voices" and the song in the video is not one of his songs.
