Thanks for the video. Did enjoy the commentary on the rough ride and that cars should stay at home, but the next shot is a whole bunch of regular Hondas in the parking lot. :-)

Hello Nick- We backpacked and camped overnight at Diamond Lake a couple of weeks ago, and your video was very helpful in giving us a good idea for us on what to expect. Thanks! ...joe

No matter how many times I go hike.. the scenery always blows me away. It never gets old. My camera doesnt really do it justice.

Beautiful hike, Jasper looked like he has part hunting dog in him his nose was in overdrive! An he looked like he still had energy to go! OMG! I got freaked out just looking in the old mine an you went in it! Your mom didn't tell you no? hahahaha

Lol.. I doubt I would have listened if she would have told me not to. Caves are just too much fun! We found out Jasper is mostly pitbull and poodle. I dont see the poodle but thats what the DNA thing said. I'm normally a cat guy.. but he is a really cool dog. He has energy for days!

@@nicksangetta8874 Wow , that is a wierd dog combo! I really don't see either of those breeds in him! But the DNA doesn't lie! Well at least I hope not! lol

Happy to get your update on the road. I’ve wanted to hike south Arapaho for a bit but the road has kind of been a question mark for me and I don’t want to destroy my car lol. I just hiked the Decalibron Loop outside of Alma and that road was bad enough. I’ve always walked the road to grays and Torrey’s to prevent driving the road. Beautiful hike.

Congrats on the Decalibron loop! That is such a sweet hike. A little windy when I did it but really epic. But yeah, I dont remember that road being too terrible so if you thought that was bad then I think I'd be safe in saying the Fourth of July road is worse. I swear that thing took more damage this winter as I dont remember it being that bad in previous years.. some of these roads are big question marks though and you really dont know how bad they are until you get to them. I tried the 4x4 road up to Loch Lomond TH earlier this week.. nope. Couldn't make it up. Then it was quite scary trying to get turned around and back off it. It's making me think I need to get a jeep or a truck.

Nick Sangetta the road to the Decalibron wasn’t terrible till the last mile or so. The beginning wasn’t bad. I think the fees help. The last mile was a rutted out mess.
What you confirmed about the Fourth of July road pretty much was what I was assuming which is why I had not made it there this year. I knew the winter would take a big toll on the road. Maybe next year for that one. I considering Belford and Oxford this weekend. Hope country road 390 is in decent shape.

@@jasonthomas16 Good luck on the 14ers! Those should be fun. I want to go down and do some more of those 13er combos. I recently did Flora, Eva and Parry Peak.. super sweet. No one out there.

👍💯❤️ No way I would have entered that old mine!😱. Those miners had to have been hard core. Doubt if they were into pleasure hiking?🙄

As usual, loved your video and narrative as you went along. This trail is on my to-do list, though I'll have to borrow or rent a vehicle to get up there! When you were there in July, were there a lot of other hikers? I'm curious how busy that trail can be in the summer or early fall. Thanks for sharing, it's so beautiful :)

Everything in the Indian Peaks is awesome. The area is really a pretty well kept secret as Rocky Mountain National Park steals all the glory. But IPW is just to the south. Its just as good. But the Fourth of July TH has room for a lot of parking and you shouldn't have a problem during the week (after school starts). But during the peak of summer when everyone is on vacation or on weekends I would try to get there by 7am. You might get parking later but I'd hate to drive up there and it be full. If it is you have to park further down the street. Which sucks.
