and I COMPLETELY agree with You, 48 Laws of Power is such an eyeopening book that gives us so much insight and even some practical information of how the world REALLY works 💯
It is an interesting and useful book. The problem is that it's totally amoral and cynical. The pervasiveness of ideas like those in that book are part of why our society is the nightmare of self-interested and unscrupulous fools/puppets that it is. Also, Michael living this way to the Nth degree is partly why he died sad, sick, regretful, and alone. Not saying the laws are not "how the world works", but I am saying that that doesn't make it right, or even good.
@@TheCultureMafia I haven’t read the book but my guess is that it includes what to do and, more importantly, what not to do. Seems to me that most people would get a lot farther if they think before they act or even open their mouth.
I used my status once to get a job, I worked a government job known to be a very tough position with very long hours, I let the person interviewing me know that I was not only good at the job but highly praised by that employer on a regular basis while also ensuring them that the same quality of work can be expected at their company, works like a charm. I wanted a new job and they wanted a good worker
In any job interview it’s imperative to tell the interviewer what you can bring to the business to help them make more money or be more successful (which is making more money). The potential employer’s only desire is to succeed with your help. My advice, never lie to the interviewer because they have already checked you out before you were given time for an interview. Give detailed information stating how your skills can help. Ask about their long term goals for your position. That shows an interest in remaining loyal. No company wants to train an employee for a year or two and then see them leave. It’s a waste of their time and money and it’s a loss for them and a win for you. That’s how you can ruin your loyalty reputation. Employers are looking for long term employees. If asked, ask about what type of retirement plans they offer, ask if the starting salary is negotiable based on experience. Don’t ask about how much vacation time you receive in the first interview, you can ask that if you’re going for a second interview. Remember, it’s not about you, it’s about them and what you can bring to the table to become more successful.
Did Vito or Michael Corleone cheat on their wives in The Godfather? That’s a really perceptive question! The answer sheds light on the characters of Vito and Michael and demonstrates some of the reasons why they are so superior to their peers , and so sympathetic to the audience. In addition to being master strategists and tactical geniuses, both Vito and Michael are ascetic by nature. They are men who are motivated by their own abstract goals, and have virtually no interest in gratifying the senses. Put more bluntly, they are both so obsessed with protecting their families and furthering their interests (both their immediate families and their business families) that they have no time left to worry about “getting laid.” This flies in the face of the Mafia tradition where most good fellas have a mistress (“gumar”) in addition to their wives. This attitude on the part of Vito is demonstrated when he unequivocally remarks that a man who doesn’t value his immediate family above everything else, “can never be a real man.” That’s a powerful statement, and clearly this is not a man to cheat on his wife. We see a similar attitude in Michael in a key scene from The Godfather, Part 2 when he challenges Tom Hagen’s loyalty. He mentions that he knows that Tom has received another job offer and suggests that he might be happier if he left and took his wife and his mistress with him. This contempt stings, and obviously upset by it Tom replies, “Mikie, why do you hurt me? I’ve always been loyal to you?” Another example of Vito and Michael’s asceticism is their attitude towards alcohol. Not only do you almost never see either of them drinking, but they both often betray a subtle contempt for others who “need” to drink. In The Godfather, Part 1, after Sonny is murdered, Vito senses something is wrong and come downstairs to confront his stepson, Tom. He sees Tom’s drink and he pointedly says that something bad must have happened because Tom needed to have a drink before he could tell him. Then he says, “Well, you’ve had your drink, now tell me!” Similarly, Michael (even in moments of great stress), always drinks either water or club soda. His contempt for alcohol (and other things) is demonstrated in the scene where he confronts his brother-in-law Carlo for helping to set up the hit on Sonny. Michael orders his men to give Carlo a drink, in order to help elicit a confession. It’s obvious that he views Carlo as weak and Carlo’s need for some “false courage” only amplifies this. Another scene that strongly telegraphs this same attitude is the exchange that takes place in Havana, in the Godfather, Part 2, when Michael and his brother spend a little time together. Fredo, the embodiment of weakness, knocks back drink after drink (“How do say Pina Colada?”) By contrast, Michael, the powerful don, sits back quietly and sips his club soda. Later we see Fredo inviting the Corleone’s guests in Havana to try a “Cuba Libre,” or one of the other “exotic” drinks available. Fredo is a weak “party boy” and drinking is one of his very few areas of competence. To my knowledge, the only time we ever see Vito drinking are when he takes a microscopic sip of an aperitif when he negotiates with the treacherous Sollazzo. That, and a scene towards the very end of the first movie. Here he sits in the garden conferring with Michael and we see him sparingly sip from a tiny glass of red while he fusses, “Well, I drink more wine than I used to.” But he is retired at this point and he has passed all of his grave responsibilities on to Michael. As for Michael, he takes a few sips of chianti during his Sicilian exile and to be polite he sips a champagne cocktail at his son’s party in Nevada. But clearly Vito and Michael are not drinkers and not womanizers. This moral superiority in their personal habits helps give them an edge over they’re rivals - they are not distracted by petty things. And it is their moderation which makes them more attractive to the audience.
How to make an offer they can't refuse; 1. Hire armed enforcer 2. Have armed enforcer hold gun to target's head 3. Ensure target that his/her signature or brains will be on contract Thanks for watching.
BIGGEST lesson I learned from Don Vito Corleone is that, you need to accept your destiny. It helped me accept my past as my destiny, plan my future, and focus on the present to reach the future goal. The goal I set might not be perfectly aligned with my destiny (which we can't know), but only thing I can do for the present is listen to my honest inner voice, and I think that should not be too far away from my destiny.
Outstanding video. I think the take away here is always make sure you are prepared, which is something I learned years ago in interviewing the physicians who attended President Kennedy in Dallas. I found that the interviews that came about when I was less prepared were not as revealing as when I'd really done some serious homework first.
Sometimes vague statements can get someone else to blurt out their intentions or true motives. For example: Michael: “I’ve always taken care of you Fredo.” Fredo: “Taken care of me!? You’re my kid brother, Michael! It’s always ’Send Fredo off to do this; send Fredo off to do that’!” Michael was able to tell as the real reason why Fredo betrayed the family. He was disgruntled and angry, not duped or ignorant. He knew full well what he was doing, and he did it on purpose. Michael: “Who ordered the hit?” Roth: **goes into angry rant and tells Michael about Moe Green, and how he let Moe’s assassination go** Roth tipped his hand that it was him, and why he did it. Michael had that effect on people.
When going into a meeting, i feel any advice for inexperienced people is learn to listen more than talk. eventually, people will talk themselves to the point you'll know their true intentions.
suppressing your ego is the hardest thing to do for anyone, but, if you can do it, you can achieve many things. The temptation is great, but learning to give it up for greater good is a life skill.

Very interesting and useful video. It also helps clarify things in the movies that are not completely explained. There are things that occur in the movies that are seemingly contradictory. When he was attacked on the steps and his daughter was with him he made no attempt to protect her. In the bedroom, the attacker could not see Michael and was shooting randomly, so his wife is is safest behind him. On the steps, the attacker could see Michael, so his daughter is safest far away from him.

The most powerful arrow in your quiver is the ability to listen to your opponent with a knowledgeable ear. When you know the information that you seek, the art of listening can be most powerful. Also, if you're looking to gain information, speaking cuts off the flow.
Read the other person. Never stop reading them for as long as possible. If they have a tell that gives them away, don't say anything about it. It's a pry bar for you into their psyche. If they don't give anything away that tells you something too. Play interactions for the long game. You should always leave them in mystery but you've read their whole book.
What I've learned from experience (in addition to shown in the video..) is that negotiations have already started before they officially happen. In every communication prior to the moment of comong together and formally negotiate.. you should be aware of the fact that the game has already begun...So also in this stage; do not reveal yor positions..
Praise your potential partner or opposing foe. Humble yourself to their presence and expertise. Appear reasonable, flexible, and non-threatening. Act as if you share common interests, ask questions as if you don't know the answers, and in a manner that assures esteem and respect and not seeking information. Always remain useful and play as if you have no leverage.
In all things they did, they never should their anger. This was what pepe used to describe cross in last don "for cross, it's natural...very can at danger"
its called due diiligence, you could have summed up this whole video by saying he did his due diligence , its a whole entire field and its actually pretty cool to work in.
Be calm Understand the situation, don't let your anger take control of your mouth have a poker face and poker mind Hide the true emotions, kill the problem before it gets life.
Keep your cool don't show your emotions. The old adage that I heard from wise elders if you can't say anything nice about a person, don't say it at all. Life is one big chess game with different moves. Also know your opponents weaknesses
But of course none of this is actually the offer they can't refuse. That means either killing them outright or putting them in a position where they will be immediately killed if they don't comply with your demands. Which kind of requires having Luca Brasi on hand, and a willingness to use him.
There will always be consequences if you break one of the laws. And being at the top is much more dangerous than being at the bottom in that world. Someone else will always want to be king of the mountain.
Hm. If I would take this seriously, You know with that "don't let others know what You are thinking" ... then why should I leave a comment here revealing what I am thinking? ... ... so I am breaking the rule =) I think the most important rule has been unmentioned: do not become a mobster and avoid them at any cost.
Is the voice human or AI? There is an unnatural sounding rhythm in places. Commas are read like periods. eg 3:54 "Summed up perfectly by the historical tactician. And General Sun Tzu." or 7:27 "Like with the meeting with Virgil Sollozo. In the book Vito. Had already given in response..."
One time I had K.k. Ishigawa "miss" his flight ✈️🛫 and he had to come back to our hotel 🛏️ and we drained him for millions after that 🤑💰 green? He's a patsy, it's really me that runs the place...
So this guy knows all these laws of power and can show examples of how to do every one of them flawlessly, why is uploading on youtube and not some massive Walmart CEO or something?
ummmm... this has nothing to do with "offer he cannot refuse"... Vito didn't give Sollotzo an offer he couldn't refuse. can I bring a guy with a gun and say either your signature or brains are gonna be on the contract? Can I extort them to ensure the negotiation goes my way? Can I cut off the head of a prized horse as a threat to ensure I get my way? THAT is the "offer they couldn't refuse" Vito was always giving them the choice death or agree with me!
Michael Franzese, a former Capo in the Columbo Crime Family said that today there are too many cameras. It is a lot harder to get away with crime like you could back in the day. The government has gotten sophisticated with wire taps etc that it is better to be legit.
Comment What is the BIGGEST Lesson or take way You've learnt from Don Vito Corleone? 🤔💭

“It’s Not Personal Sonny,-It’s Strictly Business”-Michael Corleone (The Godfather-1972)
This contempt stings, and obviously upset by it Tom replies, “Mikie, why do you hurt me? I’ve always been loyal to you?”

Lesson number one, never show Vito or any of his associates your horse.
Lmao 😂

Ha ha ha ….that is hilarious😂
The most powerful arrow in your quiver is the ability to listen to your opponent with a knowledgeable ear. When you know the information that you seek, the art of listening can be most powerful. Also, if you're looking to gain information, speaking cuts off the flow.
Brilliant advice, I will suggest all future dealings either sign the contract or I place their brains on the contract 😬
On reading your first quote you left out "once it slips" and this is very important.
I liked your video. Good job.
Don Vito was always well plan and maintain low profile. Thats what make him a suceessful Don - Godfather😮😮😮
They need to make a Godfather prequel with a young Vito
Used to think the same. Would only massively dissapoint nowadays I reckon.
Have you heard the one about the Chinese Godfather ?
He made them an offer they couldn’t understand 😊
😁
Doesn't hurt when one negotiation tactic is bring Luca Brasi along
Vito Corleone had a code of Honor
Read the other person. Never stop reading them for as long as possible. If they have a tell that gives them away, don't say anything about it. It's a pry bar for you into their psyche. If they don't give anything away that tells you something too. Play interactions for the long game. You should always leave them in mystery but you've read their whole book.
Don vito is always well plan ahead of his rival and took them by surprise!
Love to see this topic, but addressed through an analysis of Hymen Roth.

Dope 💯🔥
Always say, never let them see u sweat.
Love Vito
Be confident but not over confident, underestimating other side.
Keep your cool don't show your emotions. The old adage that I heard from wise elders if you can't say anything nice about a person, don't say it at all. Life is one big chess game with different moves. Also know your opponents weaknesses
Never say directly what you want, always want more, with that way thing that you truly want will be more reasonable
But of course none of this is actually the offer they can't refuse. That means either killing them outright or putting them in a position where they will be immediately killed if they don't comply with your demands. Which kind of requires having Luca Brasi on hand, and a willingness to use him.
Grazie.

On the top of all, find common ground. Try making a win-win deal.
Do the best you can to limit their possible choices. At best manipulate things to your favor.
Either your signature or brains on the contract. That's how, allegedly ✒🧠🔫
To understand their self interests
There will always be consequences if you break one of the laws. And being at the top is much more dangerous than being at the bottom in that world. Someone else will always want to be king of the mountain.
When your emotional your not rational
so winning is strategic............................
Vito would have put Fredo out to pasture in Sicily.
Fredo could tell the goats,
“ Michael was my kid brother and I was passed over.”
Hm. If I would take this seriously, You know with that "don't let others know what You are thinking" ... then why should I leave a comment here revealing what I am thinking? ...
... so I am breaking the rule =) I think the most important rule has been unmentioned: do not become a mobster and avoid them at any cost.
I'm going to make him a cannoli he can't refuse
Is the voice human or AI? There is an unnatural sounding rhythm in places. Commas are read like periods. eg 3:54 "Summed up perfectly by the historical tactician. And General Sun Tzu." or 7:27 "Like with the meeting with Virgil Sollozo. In the book Vito. Had already given in response..."
One time I had K.k. Ishigawa "miss" his flight ✈️🛫 and he had to come back to our hotel 🛏️ and we drained him for millions after that 🤑💰 green? He's a patsy, it's really me that runs the place...
Ah. Godfather is the movie where people kill each other behind their back.
So this guy knows all these laws of power and can show examples of how to do every one of them flawlessly, why is uploading on youtube and not some massive Walmart CEO or something?
Is this a reupload?
ummmm... this has nothing to do with "offer he cannot refuse"...
I LIKE WEEEEED
"Go to the matresses"!
Let them make the 1st offer. The one who does losses the deal.
Ya here the one about the Chinese godfather?
He makes em an offer they can’t understand
I wonder what Vito would have done about Fredo.
Yeah his secret was Luca Brasi
You don't talk to a person like Joe green like that. 😂
After the proposition, the first one that Talks, Loses
How come no Godfather lll
Vito would have put Fredo out to pasture in Sicily.
He killed people that refused him. It's not something you can do in society.
You can do it , but you have to do it properly , and it's possible only in higher ranks of society than subhuman nobodys
Michael Franzese, a former Capo in the Columbo Crime Family said that today there are too many cameras. It is a lot harder to get away with crime like you could back in the day. The government has gotten sophisticated with wire taps etc that it is better to be legit.
