Immaculate footage though. You can even see he his son, Prince George, Prince of Wales and later King George V, and his wife, Queen Alexandra (Alexandra of Denmark). This is very good quality for the time.

Given Edward's gargantuan daily appetites of a dozen cigars, even more in cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, and of course food, it's impressive he managed to reign as long as he did (and that's also taking into account he nearly died before his coronation if it weren't for a timely emergency surgery)

George V I think is the first King in the UK for us to have surviving recordings of hie voice. Until the 1920s there wasn't really commercial radio and all films in cinemas were silent, including any newsreels so there wasn't really a point to recording voices for important occuations because there was no way to mass broadcast them. Any important speech would have just been reprinted in the newspapers for circulation.

I’m still in grave shock that there was no other recording after that especially for a monarch, because it was recordings from Edison Co. that made Victoria’s voice possible.
