Nathan, old buddy, you're the only guy on God's good earth that could make a video of this vehicle worth watching. You are, quite simply, the best‼️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I like the minivan but what's up with the vacuum option? I really don't get it. Why pay big bucks to carry a vacuum cleaner around when you can just use a house one when you have to? Do kids really mess up the interior that often?
I test drove a Touring L model yesterday and absolutely loved it. I was surprised how for how big it is how nimble it is on the road as well as how fast the power response is from a dead stop. I'm looking at this vehicle for a people mover and going into the Limited fully loaded Pacifica with the 20inch rims, Tri-Pain sunroom, 20 speaker sound package, power third row, and safety tech package the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited will give any other people move in its price range a run for its money.
It's so nice, those seats look like what a luxury car would have. Honestly the front of the van is probably the best looking front I've ever seen on a mini van
BTW, the towing capability of 3600 is only when equipped with a towing package that does more than just provide a receiver and wiring. The non equipped Pacifica's have a 1500 towing capability. The kicker, you MUST get the Touring L Plus or Limited to get the towing package as it has to be built at the manufacture. Slapping a receiver and wiring will not give you a 3600 tow rating. Chrysler provides a heavy duty radiator and tranny cooler, but also provides electronic tow sway correction and different suspension setup (Could not confirm the old load leveling feature found on the T&C). This is all from my research and dealer visits as well as trying to build a Touring L (lowest trim with LED tail lights) with a tow package on the Chrysler website.
Looking at the Pacifica and the previous gen T&C, it makes me think about vehicles which can be modded for wheelchair riders such as myself. I would really love to see a TFL spot that covers wheelchair accessible vehicles which go beyond the scope of just minivans. Yeah, yeah...I can't beat the practicality and ease of use of a minivan, but there's got to be something more stylish and gives off less of a "soccer dad/mom, single parent" vibe.
I've always found chrysler seats to be weak, not padded well and uncomfortable on long trips. It's a throwaway van. Use four years and toss it for a new one. The front looks nice tho. The vacuum is pretty cool
I think the stow n go seating has a lot to do with that. they're narrow and compact. although in the rest of the FCA lineup I think they have the most comfortable seats out of the Big 3 with GM a very close second. Ford seats I've noticed are hard and uncomfortable. maybe more durable but definitely not that comfortable...
These seats are firmer all around. The stow n go seats in the Pacifica are also different in every way. So much so, Chrysler filed for a different stow n go patten. Google it.
My mom bought this car last month. There is a strap you pull on the side of the seat that collapses it into the floor behind the front seats. Then the floor comes back down over top of it. At first glance, it looks like you completely took them out of the car. It's great!!
the middle seat doesn't stow, it easily is removed and is actually quite tiny. very light and similar to the Odyssey middle seat. you just throw it in your garage
I think this will sell well for FCA. The styling is good and the features are very well thought out. Nathan didn't mention it in this video, but the Pacifica marks the launch of the next generation Pentastar V6.
Also, can someone answer this question, Why does the Pacifica have essentially cardboard like material under the car? I give it a year in wet conditions maybe less if you use a touchless carwash or any car wash with underbody spray, before it falls off. I saw it on my Touring L Plus Pacifica I test drove.
The Pacifica is replacing the Chrysler Town & Country as well as the Dodge Caravan, production has stopped for Town & country but the Caravan will continue as is through all of 2017.
IMO the best looking minivan on the market especially if you get the right rims. Definitely the nicest looking interior. I hate the way Honda's instrument cluster looks above the steering wheel. Not sure why they changed the name to Pacifica. The only thing I can think of is that I always associated Town & Country to an old person's vehicle. But the old Pacifica wasn't a real great vehicle and wasn't a great seller.
Nice review and nice car. Unfortunately, with our CO2 tax, this car would be very expensive overhere, so Chrysler is no longer sold here.... too bad !!
But not long anymore... unfortunately for the brand Lancia. Imo, They used to build somewhat unique cars and that's what they were good at, but nobody in Europe wants to buy a Lancia-rebranded Chrysler.
In North America it replaces the Chrysler Town & Country. The old design Dodge Grand Caravan will also go away in the future, but is being kept in production for a time as a lower cost alternative. A Dodge crossover may take the Caravan's place in the lineup at some point. I haven't seen anything that indicates whether they will offer this van as a Lancia in Europe, but my understanding is that Lancia is being pulled from the market everywhere except Italy.
I don't like the fact that this looks like a fat 200. Would have been better if they made it look like the 300 like the last gen model but nooo they worried about aerodynamics -.-
WHY was Chrysler so STUPID to throw away their legendary "Town & Country" name and replace it with a name that failed them before? In my opinion, the original Pacifica wasn't that great to begin with....and it was worth around $40K too! On that note, I noticed that this van also has "Stow N' Go" seating.....and it basically looks like a refreshed "Town & Country"....so why kill off one of your best sellers? This reminds me of when Ford killed off their Taurus sedan. Let's just say that it didn't end well. Despite bringing the Taurus back just a couple of years later, now as a full-size car...and at the request of former Ford CEO Alan Mulally, it is still being consistently outsold by the midsize Fusion.
Because, like the Taurus, it's name was recognizable but for all of the wrong reasons. The Town & Country has been an uncompetitive junk van for the last 15+ years and the Taurus was the same thing in its class of vehicle for pretty much the same amount of time. Brand/Name recognition is only good when the products being sold are good. And as for the Pacifica name, they sold so poorly that no one even remembers them so bringing the name back won't prevent sales. And it's a little known fact that the original Pacifica was on the same platform as the Town & Country anyway so in my head the names are practically interchangeable.
if you look at product for the Pacifica on Chrysler's own build a pacifica page, you will or use to see the T&C nameplate. It was literally a last minute change. I think they should have kept the T&C name. IF i buy one, I'll just slap a T&C nameplate on it just because lol.
What bothers me everytime on cars for the American market are those side marker lamps, which we only have to have in Europe, if the car is long. They look ugly and destroy the whole the design of a car. Also: looks like this one uses halogen lights as daytime running lights? C'mon...
I think Nathan was purposely more methodical (slower) with his words than typical describing this car. Why??? I don't think there is much left to say about this segment (i.e. - he's filling time). Other than design, it hasn't changed much in the past 15 years. Nothing new mechanically and interior features are the same. All just new design; which can be boring for a minivan.
Bobby0345 and Chrysler perfected it. Honda's vacuum could barely reach the front or 2nd row being that it was stored in the back. no where near the source of spills. It's like having your home first aid kit in your attic....
Vacuum isn't new and the hybrid is a year away. Might as well start reporting on cars that commute w/o wheel like the Jetsons. Its not too early...maybe 60 years away. I'm sure there's a prototype drawn somewhere in Musk's design studio. :)
Let me see if I understand your statement: Interior design, exterior design, motors, transmission, suspension, electronics/infotainment/auto parking and packaging - all new or significantly updated "Hasn't changed much?" If you say so.
Odyssey and Sienna still the king in minivan, Chrysler just like blackberry in smartphone, trying to get back but over priced and nobody wants it, in Toronto I saw one so far. I test drive it and nice but I would pay more than Odyssey or Sienna. Reliability ranked bottom, Chrysler better do something about the price. In Toronto, offer 0% lease or finance but still no takers, this is bad marketing and way overpriced!
I looked and researched all 3, the 2017 Sienna XLE has low grade plastics on the interior, is not IIHS Top Pick+ rated, ponderous, louder, 6 year old + design, worse fuel economy. The only advantage of the Sienna over the Pacifica is more softer second row seats because they do not have stow and go. The Odyssey is also swath in low grade plastics, fit and finish is sub-par on a US$45k+ vehicle. Many reviews complain about squeaking and rattling. Its also an antiquated design. The redesign is overdue as well. As afar as nobody wants it, I bought a Limited and have to say, if its as luxurious and high tech as any vehicle out there. It also is such a better choice for a family of 5 over a 3r row CUV or SUV. If there was an Audi, Mercedes or Lexus logo on the vehicle, people would be swooning all over it like white on rice.
Nathan, old buddy, you're the only guy on God's good earth that could make a video of this vehicle worth watching. You are, quite simply, the best‼️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I totally agree with you
I concur. Spot on.
The Pacifica is by far the nicest minivan ever produced!
Not even close. Ford S-Max takes the prize.
Nah~ Toyota Veil Fire van is the best in the world. Right behind the Mitsubishi Delica.
The vacuum option was cool when it debuted on the Odyssey 2 years ago
True but the location of this vacuum makes way more sense
+Knowledge Seekers I mean the vacuum in the odyssey can reach all the way to the front
True
too bad it is not a Dyson.
I like the minivan but what's up with the vacuum option? I really don't get it. Why pay big bucks to carry a vacuum cleaner around when you can just use a house one when you have to? Do kids really mess up the interior that often?

my only gripe is the colors, I kinda want something shocking like the b5 Blue pearl coat.
that grill i hated on the 200 but on a van, looks good!!!
It's so nice, those seats look like what a luxury car would have.
Honestly the front of the van is probably the best looking front I've ever seen on a mini van
Great review as always Nathan!
Great review Nathan!

What do you guys use to edit your videos on?
great review, my only problem with this channel is the mic quality you guys really need to get on that, it sounds very muffled.
has the 9 speed transmission become anymore reliable? I know they had issues in the past with the 200 among others.
I've always found chrysler seats to be weak, not padded well and uncomfortable on long trips. It's a throwaway van. Use four years and toss it for a new one. The front looks nice tho. The vacuum is pretty cool
yeah you are a Chevy guy. go figure. don't know what your talking a bout
I think the stow n go seating has a lot to do with that. they're narrow and compact. although in the rest of the FCA lineup I think they have the most comfortable seats out of the Big 3 with GM a very close second. I was comparing more to the Honda and the Toyota vans. Ur prob right on the stow and go seating tho.
These seats are firmer all around. The stow n go seats in the Pacifica are also different in every way. So much so, Chrysler filed for a different stow n go patten. Google it.
Finally the Pacifica is officially a Minivan, I remember the old Pacifica, it was more of an SUV despite it being known as an Minivan in the specs
this Chrysler product will be far more reliable than the Odyssey and the Sienna
hahaha
FCA has worst rating of all, and they will Quaker the entire industry with what ??? with lots and lots of complaints ......
kevinvvn i know, i was just being sarcastic lol
what about the middle row middle seat? how does it get stowed?
My mom bought this car last month. There is a strap you pull on the side of the seat that collapses it into the floor behind the front seats. Then the floor comes back down over top of it. At first glance, it looks like you completely took them out of the car. It's great!!

@@minivanmaster MMMM Nope

it's not a next gen just more of a upgraded.
Logan Levi Its pretty much new from the block up.

What a shock. Nathan loves a FCA product. Really need someone else to review this.
the damn acoustic gitar number at 0:21 is annoying.
Is this replacing the town and country?
yeah
Yes
+TJC450 about time
+hanseyfreeman _. It's an aging name and the current platform is almost a decade old.
The Pacifica is replacing the Chrysler Town & Country as well as the Dodge Caravan, production has stopped for Town & country but the Caravan will continue as is through all of 2017.

You look like my high school metalworking teacher!
its blows away Comp,,,,4 fun
I wonder if the new dodge caravan going to be using the similar platform
There will be no Dodge Caravan. The Pacifica is it.
I always wonder what would pillarless minivan look like
a stationwagon
Nice review and nice car. Unfortunately, with our CO2 tax, this car would be very expensive overhere, so Chrysler is no longer sold here.... too bad !!
...excellent review..,👍
Chrysler Quality: You know there will be a recall for the optional vacuum cleaner starting fires.
Is this replacing the Voyager? I'm from Europe so i dont know. We get those cars as Lancias
But not long anymore... unfortunately for the brand Lancia. Imo, They used to build somewhat unique cars and that's what they were good at, but nobody in Europe wants to buy a Lancia-rebranded Chrysler.
oh, You're in Europe? Sucks for you....

They should bring them over as Chryslers in left hand drive countries.
The mini is a fashion thing while the mx-5 is for driving
do the highlander off road
In other news, I heard FCA dealerships are in need of more service advisors named Tony.
LOL!
FIAT = Fix It Again Tony!
I like everything about this vehicle. I wish the horsepower increase a few Noch. other than that I like this minivan
I don't like the fact that this looks like a fat 200. Would have been better if they made it look like the 300 like the last gen model but nooo they worried about aerodynamics -.-
It's a minivan. This design is much more suitable for a minivan than a 300.
Eh, the previous generation (The Town & Country) had 300-ish styling.
Yeah and it looked what happened to it.
kdu8004 True
2017 mkz 3.0 review!
Kia Sedona or Chrysler Pacifica?
I wish you could get S-Max in US. :)
You did not tell us Nathan, does it feel and drive like Fiat or Chrysler? ....lol
Needs to be All Wheel Drive Chrysler
That guitar is very aggravating.
What happened to Emmie?
Nice
Wow IRS!! Like the mid 80's Renault Espace...
WHY was Chrysler so STUPID to throw away their legendary "Town & Country" name and replace it with a name that failed them before? In my opinion, the original Pacifica wasn't that great to begin with....and it was worth around $40K too!

Ever wonder why the Middle class families in the US are struggling? $42,000 minivans!!!!
They can get Camrys.
they start lower than $42000, and no this is not the first, second or third reason for family's struggle
The point is a Minivan never in the past cost so much for one decent equipt. Income to cost ratio is just getting worse.
Agreed Chris.
Cars are getting expensive but i think it's best to shop for good deals.
No need to go for higher trims.
I just think even the base model is about $5000 to much. $27 for a base minivan. And don't get me started on how overprice trucks are.
if one of u say hi, my life will be complete
Hi
ello!!
Hi
Bye
Jk hi and I'm late...
Hyundais??

I don't know... kind of gives it a german look and that is not all that bad.
I like the Kia Sedona a lot better, looks nicer, nicer interior, in my opinion
ew KIA sedona is a rattle box. cheap. style over substance
+tom sam nah you're thinking of the interior of a 2007 Sedona
That was a rattle box. This new one is solid
Starting at 28k. That's why I'd never buy a mini-van.
Ike Gauntlet!!!!

hybrid drivetrain, sto-n-go, this infotainment system, a vac than can actually reach every part of the interior is nothing new?
+Tomaz Hilton Honda has had the vacuum for years.

If you say so.
gm is that better anyway this is a nice van
gm doesnt have a minivan in america.
another Chrysler disliker
i think someone got paid good to have no negatives points.
of course new cars will feel tight, planted, etc... Say that after 3 years and you wont say that..
RIP Pacifica we know. they turned it into minivan ; (
KAPETA33 RIP Chrysler LLC :(
Honda Odyssey much better, SE version comes with Rear DVD, Rear Camera, Vacuum, Side camera, Sirius at only $32,000.....Pacifica is $45,000
"....leg like giraffe" SMH

I wouldn't by a Chrysler product, Fiat owns them and their recall history is horrible!
have you taken a look at the Sienna's recall history lately?
100th!!!!
You really must try harder‼️😄😄😄
it is the ugliest van ever, kia sedona is the nicest and 10 year warranty, o like tfl but i do not agree on this, havent even seen one on the road yet
The Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna are better than this shit. Chrysler has horrible reliability and build quality.
yuck minivans
