There are some tricky ideas in this text that demand a critical re-evaluation of many assumptions often held about Baudrillard's work, and about the role of theory more generally.

Would you be so kind as to explain the "death at samercan (sp?)" story? Does death represent seduction? (it's unavoidable even if you try to elude it?) Is seduction Death's gesture? (seduction scares us out of our "normal" routines?) Thanks for the videos, and any help.

@@TheoryPhilosophy Oh, do I? That's kinda surprising, honestly. I can wrap my head around some of his thoughts/ observations, but I really feel like a dunce most of the time I read or learn about Baudrillard. Sometimes, his statements are like Zen koans. I think I'll go scrub the floors until I get it.

This is very very interesting thank you. Adorno also noticed that women seem to be more alienated and become more identical with capitalist structure. Very well illustrated in the neoliberal "life design".
I have a question. Isnt the feminine and masculine detached from the biological man and women? So it must be simulation too. In my head that means that we have to historisize these things too because to me it seems like he thought about it as anthropological constants. Modes of action.
So maybe pure Simulation isnt even possible because there cannot be things outside this world.
Do you understand what i mean or am i completely wrong about that?

I have a question. If people knew that sexuality is just a game of signs and symbols, would it be necessary to have lgtbiq community yes or no?

It would be because they have been otherized by society. A community will naturally form in the pursuit of liberation.

They have been otherized by society because the vast majority of people don't play the game. if they did there would be no need. @@tyrdunbar
