No kidding right! That man has worked is ass off for several years and gotten us some great players. I still think he should have been named interim HC last year, but I’m biased because I’ve always been an Etheridge fan. Just his playing talent and swagger back in the day, and the way he’s put up with a bunch of junk since he’s been a coach and always kept his cool and busted his ass and stayed positive.
Patience, and full support behind this staff and Freeze will get the program right!! I can see how competitive freeze is, and relentless to upgrade AU! Freeze seems to really love Auburn and thankful for opportunity.. Could you imagine kiffens reaction to fan bases pissin and moaning about everything.. year 3 and its still issues, then it's warranted
Agreed. I know this fan base is super hungry. I'M super hungry. I also get it about how this team has performed on the field. It was reasonable to think we would see at least some improvement, even in year 1. CHF and the staff have done a remarkable job both in recruiting and the portal. However, quite a few of or portal kids have not lived up to the hype. They are good football players but there are reasons they were in the portal. Of course those reasons are varied. Often it's playing time and players are trying to get film. Well, likely a lot weren't getting playing time because someone better is is on the field more often. Some are Juco players so they may not have the ability to compete in the SEC. Hugh HAD to go to the portal to field a half decent team. Recruiting is a much longer process and HS kids are often redshirted then developed; at least for the first year. So it will take the 2024 through the 2026 classes to rebuild the program. Hugh Freeze intends to make Auburn an option every bit the contender for recruits with Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, etc. I hate losing to. What we're watching on the field right now is NOT the standard. We don't have to accept what we're seeing. But CHF and this staff doesn't accept it either. CHF is going to need 3 years to get a team out there on the field that is dominating.
Agree mbee, it's not looked good on the feild. Imo alot of factors come into play about where we are atm as a program, and as a fan base we must get behind the program and create whatever momentum, enthusiasm we can to drag the program changing type of athletes we must have on the feild to win bc we all know the teams east and west absolutely negative recruit and telling kids look at their fan base etc. We're lucky to have freeze that seems to pour all of his energy into making the program great and to build for the long haul bc he seems genuinely pumped to be at a program like Auburn. We have to understand, just what a sheet storm he walked into, and the barriers he had to break thru just to get what he has.
I can understand if this was year 3, but we really missed big time with the potatoe experiment and as a fan base we must come together and remove any validitity harse says about our culture and vision. Not to mention alot of these kids hear about jaba from chiz debacle
