Another topic idea for the future: How to start finding producers/artists after moving to a new area? I've just moved to Atlanta and of course its big for music but i dont really know how to start finding people i might want to work with. I dont have a team or anything yet im just starting out so its just me. Hopefully you can give some tips on this in a future video!

It's best to discover your own artists and make them hot as a writer. Industry writers get the vaseline and they don't really get all of their publishing.
It's a DIY age, if you're a talented writer break your own artists and lock down all of your publishing. Looking for industry deals is not the way anymore. That's the wrong route today. You get more attention from mainstream execs and artists, by creating your own bubble and making your own money and creating your own buzz, and if you're dope, they will come to you and you will have more power in negotiating your publishing.

Promote yourself as much as u can under comment sections on social media u might get some hate because people don't like that but trust me if your music is fire most of them are gonna fuck with it and follow u more it works try that

Make reference songs, and show up at studios where popular artists go. Make sure you become friends with the owner or an engineer who's good with some of those artists, and mingle.

@@RedVelvetUnderground333 definitely. You just gotta network a lot, and find people who are looking for demos so you can connect with them or market yourself to them.
I just mentioned the studio thing because meeting people in person is a great way to make things happen quicker. Online can sometimes take longer since you have to build up the relationships and reputation before anyone takes a chance on you.
Just use whatever method is complimentary to your communication style. Also, if you have a friend or someone you know who's really good with talking to people, and they're part of the music industry, consider using them as another way to market you to other people.
Word of mouth is super powerful.

I do the same thing! I’m an artist but I currently do music videos. I’d like to go the songwriting for artists route but it is difficult to find an entry into that. Indie artists don’t get it cause “they don’t need nobody” lol and record labels aren’t exactly posting jobs for it. It’s more of a network thing to get started

Tory wrote for Justin beiber for a good while BUT he actually got on by being an artist FIRST . He had a deal long before he started writing for other people then he came back out again. Tory lanez wasn’t a good example for this point BUT we get the point👏🏽👏🏽 because the reality is you can’t can even become a songwriter without having a buzz already too. It’s just like being a beatmaker or artist: like noone wants a song from someone who isn’t co-signed yet. Tory already had a co-sign waaay back. His old videos are still up btw if anyone wants to reference them. I mean videos soooo far back before he even got his teeth fixed.
I disagree tbh. Getting "signed" before writing for other artists wouldn't change anything about what I said. Most music careers aren't linear. And many people start as an "artist" but become writers.
What youre describing about Tory's specific case is about how he came "back out" is due to his writing. Point is whatever level you're at, it could be of value for you to get to the next level.

That has nothing to do with anything.
I'm not saying he became an artist AFTER he was a songwriter. I'm saying he was able to come out on another level AFTER being a valued songwriter because of the resources it afforded him. In the same way I'm telling people who are currently artists "if you're an artist that CAN be a songwriter it can help your career as an artist"
