- Hello, friends! Today I want to show you another interesting DIY project. It's a cool gun for recreational shooting, designed in a non-standard way. I'm using a coil spring as the projectile element, which makes for a unique and intriguing design.
For the handle, I used ebony, a material that looks very noble after polishing. The spring was salvaged from an old vacuum cleaner, and the guide rail was made of aluminum. I also utilized my new milling machine and, of course, a lathe in the manufacturing process.

put rifling in the barrel and ever so slightly extend it so the magnet speeds up better

If you put a firing pin on on the end of the spring ands a 9mm barrel…. Single shot pistol.
Bit overkill on the firing pin spring, but it will fire… Once… Then, you gotta worry about a potential case rupture shooting back at ya. But it may not… One way to find out

*Interesting project, but unfortunately it doesn't have enough pressure to pierce the aluminum can. Make one that allows you to pierce objects.*

After all of the extra steps taken and attention to detail, I am surprised you decided to connect the grips with adhesive rather than screws, as a gunsmith it feels a little sacreligious. Thats literally the only nitpick I can find, this whole video is incredibly impressive.

My understanding is that you can make your own firearms for your own use … you just can’t sell them
Forget the push ups that little saw you've got look's like a right work out itself lol
oh for sure, coping saws are pretty cool and useful for smaller projects that require fine detail. there is definitely an art to it. easy to learn hard to master.

Ah! I love this design! Though mine used more parts. It reminds me of the Shambler. A shotgun made of scrap parts, you should take a look at it!

Согласен, эта пружина слабовата. всегда можно поставить мощнее.
не понял одного момента - если у него есть фрезерный станок, он там всякие пазы делал, зачем он под курок дыру вручную выпиливал, и второй момент - зачем надо несколько слоёв фанеры склеивать, а цельная доска не канает ? 🤔

@@serengyarchery , токаренный мощный ствол, крепление " часовой " основной пружины, магнитный замок крепления снаряда, пружина замка- спуска и ее установка прямо в канал рукояти.
Только не понял все же , из какого материала шасси(корпус)- вначале вроде из прессованого картона наборная, собранная с эпоксидной смолой, а дальше больше походит на эбонит.
Только детали УСМ все же не лучше было бы сделать стальными, чтоб меньше изнашивались?

Хорошие керны получаются из длинных бит-отверток для шуруповерта. Вставляешь в патрон дрели и обтачиваешь рабочюю часть шлифмашиной или наждачной бумагой - получается хоть керн, хоть шило. Сталь S2 очень хороша. А сверху на керн можно одеть кусок резиновой трубки для хорошего хвата.

This is cool. I get great joy from target practice with any gun or gagit that shoots. Unfortunately, here in CA, they cover everything by making it illegal to launch any kind of projectile no maker what it is so I could technically be in trouble if I made and fired this type of gun. Even a blow gun is illegal !!!!

looks like the pull start recoil spring from a string trimmer is similar in size maybe
