Russ, you are just get started wait till you get to Traverse City. Checkout out the Leelanau Pensisula. Checkout Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore near Traverse City. Russ it doesn't surprise me that the Park was sold out. Michiganders take advantage of the shores during the summer because of winters run so long.
We Love RVerTV - Best TV On UA-cam.
@@henrywardell4635 I agree. I am glad that he is showing my great home state of Michigan. Everyone else will get to see what a great state it is.
The white stuff is most likely the seed of the Cottonwood tree.
They're dandelion seeds from the dandelion flower!
Russ, you make me envious but im glad you have an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful country we live in. ENJOY!
The UP of Michigan is a world unto itself. Check out the old copper mines.
Love it here, lived in this area for 60 years, love the fishing , boating and just alot of good memories in West Michigan 👍👍👍👍👍
The Mackinaw bridge on the very top of the state is really something to see.
Bravo.
If you want to check out really old lighthouses when you get over to Lake Huron checkout Fort Gratiot Lighthouse near Port Huron it is the oldest lighthouse on the Great Lakes.
Beautiful pier!!! The red light houses look stunning against the blue sky and water!!!
We Love RVerTV.
Thank you for the virtual vacation videos. Am enjoying bc I have never had a true vacation where I didn't have to cook, bake or do dishes. Lol. 😊
Michigan is the land of the lakes . 😊
When you get to Frankfort take M22 along the shoreline to Sleeping Bear NP.
Oh my!! I love that red lighthouse!!!! Beautiful!!
Russell you could get a bike rack on back of your rig! Your on the right path..it gets more beautiful as you head north from Grand Haven! The Upper Peninsula is awesome, especially the top of the UP! The Keewenau Peninsula, Marquette, and Munising are great
Great video Russ, have walked that pier several times, glad you stayed at Oak Grove, hope you get to the UP, go to Whitefish Point, go to the ship museum and see the Edmond Fitzgerald bell they took off the ship, it's a must see, travel safe 👍
21:59 That water is as smooth as glass! 👋🏼🇨🇦
If you had looked up at the end of the pier you would have seen the main lighthouse. You walked right around it. Michigan has more lighthouses than any other state.
Nice contrast to Arizona and the southwest dry as a bone. Enjoy the Great Lakes.
Bravo.
Very nice video. Like when you go through small towns and not so much interstate, seems like a more pleasant trip sering what the towns are like too. Beautiful lighthouses, and drone footage. You're getting your steps in for sure. 😊👍
My son just moved to Michigan from upstate New York. 1year now. He lives on the other side near Flint, above Detroit. He loves it.
So glad you made it to Grand Haven!! Love that place!!
Bravo.
Loved the video. My friend was born, raised and lived in the South Haven area all her life. She sent me videos and pictures of the storms and waves covering the pier. Sometimes if you didn't know it was there, the red building was entirely covered with water and waves. If I remember correctly, she mentioned the other pier across the channel with the lighthouse at the end once had an elevated walkway that was there for years. She said they removed it and were taking donations to replace it.
Yay sounds like fun. Jogging in the hot sun with high humidity, in mid day...I had to look in my US Atlas to even see where Michigan was. Close to Wisconsin and Minnesota...It sure is crazy lush and green during the summer. I can't picture it with ice, snow and storms...But then I'm from Coastal Northern California.
Good to see old folks jogging Russ !
so glad i banked this for my Sunday morning...thanks Russ!
Welcome to West Michigan! Next major park north would be PJ Hoffmaster, which is a wonderful park to roam around in the woods and dunes. Enjoy your stay in our slice of heaven.
Home of the Coast Guard Festival. And the Singing Fountain. All our lakes freeze for Ice Fishing
The weather looks great 😃☀️.
I love the selection of small towns, harbors, lake views, marinas that you have been highlighting. It’s really beautiful and I hope to visit there in the warm weather season
Cotton from the Cottonwood trees….We had cottonwood trees in Wyoming too….Beautiful scenery…Thanks for all your great videos…
You visited the Grand Haven pier on an extremely calm day. It is usually not that calm.
Love Grand Haven!
I love all of these lighthouses you've been showing us this summer. I've always been a big lighthouse fan - it's actually how I found your channel. I was looking for videos on one of my favorite lighthouses - Heceta Head - and saw your video from 2 years ago I believe. Since then I always look forward to the videos that you post. Keep up the great work!
Love Haceta Head on the Beautiful Oregon Coast!!
There's so much to see in Michigan and other State's like New York than just the cities. Always a fan, my wife and I will be in chandler in late August swimming in the pool hopefully. Safe travels 🙏
To cool for school!!! Stay safe!!Loving this!!!
Howdy Russ!
i live here :) seeing the comments of ppl complimenting it rly makes me happpy to live here lol. i definitely love it. also the water looks reallly calm. it’s usually not that calm
Hey Russ!!! Another "GRAND DAY"!!! Have "FUN"!!! Be Safe!!!
Once again a wonderful and nice place sir 👌👌👌❤❤❤
Welcome to Grand Haven. The road you turned on from US 31 would have taken you to Harbor Drive.
They just finished a restoration of the pier. Painted and reworked the catwalk. It is beautiful after dusk.
We camped on the lake at Grand Haven in 2019. You are packed in like sardines but it is still a great place to visit. The walkway goes the other direction toward a really nice downtown area and has benches and tables where you can sit and watch the boats go by.
What a beautiful place. Wow.
When that hundred-foot-high wave is coming in off the lake and the roads are jammed with crashed cars, the locals had better be in shape so as to make a run for it, Russ!
6:38 Coaling tower from the days of steam railroading on the right.
7:19 That building on the right sure looks like some combination of railroad passenger/freight station. Must have been service here at one time.
The raised metal structure on Grand Haven pier is the walkway the Lighthouse. The person who lived in the lighthouse on the end used this walk way to get too and from his home in the lighthouse when the pier was overcome with ice.
Hi Russ the grandkids ask are we RV there yet 🤪 great video like always you only see it on RVTV the family says hello stay safe and travel well lance and family
We Love RVerTV.
The white cottony stuff you see blowing around is from the cottonwood and the dogwood trees. It happens every year
I thank you for sharing .Really enjoy this .Michigan gal myself living in the desert.
I was stuck in Muskegon in feb.for a couple of days in the early 80's way to D..... cold for my surthern but😁
Our weather does take some getting use to, if you were to come after Memorial Day it's not so cold.
You should be there for the Coast Guard Festival. Wall to wall people and no one is running or biking. The musical fountain starts at dark back in town so if you go out to the lighthouse for sunset you really have to hoof it to get back to town in time.
Beautiful state and place.
Thanks again for a great vid. 👍👍
Your videos are gorgeous, Russ.
Good job . Michigan sure looks nice
It's about 54 a night. Waiting list! All the names are at the base of the struts. They give you a tour if you time it right. Won't let ya go in just a picture inside it. Can't go in. It's beautiful! It's all lit up at night too.
Really nice vidio Russ---I lived about 30 miles from their but left 51 years ago--it is too DAM cold 6 months out of the year--very pretty in the summer but glad to live now in southern CALIF NOW---
That’s cottonwood …remember it well from my days living in Grand Rapids…you were talking about cold…I have pictures of my wife and I standing on ice flows that were at least 6 ft out of the water line mid-way down the pier. That is why I live in South Carolina now 😂
🙋♀️Hello Russ! I really loved Oak Grove Campground. Looked like a very nice place. Glad the yard was done before it sprinkled. I Saw a double rainbow this evening. I love the smell of a fresh mowed lawn. I liked seeing Grand Haven. I Was a little worried you'd get run over. It was nice to see an active area for a change, or were these runners all early risers too? Michigan sure is a very inviting place with beautiful views of the Lake & plenty of benches to relax. I really like this & seeing the drone footage of Oak Grove Campground really gave a good look at the layout of the park.
Been there many a time, grew up in Muskegon, looks the same as it did in 1980!
Wow...that water was so peaceful! Beautiful video!
Great Video Russ! I like the way the Electrical Conduit is built for protection against high waves and coastal flooding. My wife and I would love to visit Michigan soon.
Love the video series!!
I grew up around here and let me tell you the color in this video is way more vibrant than what is seen in real life lol. The water looks a lot more brown since it's coming from the dirty sewage like old Grand River. The water around the pier is also some what disgusting asl well. A better place to go is up to Muskegon where the water is cleaner. Only a little drive north.
As ships come through that canal, the water displacement will come over the rail, this, all the warnings and the large rip rap on the beach edge all work together.
Thank for coming to michigan...it's a beautiful state...lots of you tubers pass us by
enjoyed the video. I live in Grand Haven, hope you had fun
Like the first camp ground. Should have ask what they were fishing for.
White stuff is from a cottonwood trees
Note that most of the lakeside state parks on the west coast require making reservations about a year in advance.
Hey Russ,
Good video, be safe out there.😊👍
It's Cottonwood blooms. All over Ohio. So thick we have to leaf blow it! It sticks to everything! Get a bike! 💞
Russ get used to seeing a lot of boats. Michigan has more boats per capita than other state in the US. Whitefish is a common fish in Michigan. Really tasty mild fish.
on sunday the sailboat race from Chicago to the straits is going on so if you go to the lake you should be able to see lots and lots of really big and beautiful sail boat---just to let you know --this race is a big deal
Ok Russ let get the running shoes on for us
White fluff is from the Cottonwood trees. You may want to vacuum off your air conditioner after you leave the area.
Cottonwood trees is the stuff
Cotton wood trees put out the white stuff floating in the air
Never been to Michigan but this makes me want to go great video as usual
It is a great state. Google Pure Michigan, it will give you the web address for the Michigan Department of Tourism which will tell you all about the state.
Michigan is a great state to visit. Michigan has more lighthouses than any state. It is a gorgeous state surrounded by the Great Lakes
Not bad.....means not good...just not horrible
Nice trip stay safe and try not to get run over by those joggers
L👀K Russ, you may be lucky to find a puddingstone or see a yooperlite along the shore. All joking aside, I'm not pulling your leg. This is for real. I've never been there, I wanted to share this with you.
👍👍
👍👍😊
I'd LOVE to see you make it to Port Austin, on the eastern shore, my home town! :-)
Hi watched this video and you made the comment that the West doesn’t have brick crosswalks. Come to Northern California and you’ll see some.
Have you been using your portable A/C in your van? Has it worked effectively?
Maybe an electric bike is in your future, that was a long walk, very cool video....
What dash can do you use?
russ, you got there late. its one very active runners path.
He is there fairly early in the morning. On a nice summer day like this, by early to mid afternoon there will be 10 times as many people out walking along the pier. The beach will be packed and the traffic through that area is much much busier. The joggers are out in the morning.
So many runners , the state should be the running state .😅
Cottonwood trees
Where is this place. Wow!
Our quaint little city of Grand Haven Michigan, I've lived here since 1988 and it's absolutely beautiful! We are known as Coast Guard City USA, you should visit sometime!
This is really bad, I kept looking for a hot dog stand on that walk out to the light house. Watching reruns is paying off, my youngest grandson yelled out "Hi Russ"!
Are you looking for the Pronto Pup stand? Its on the right at 22:50
Russ, get yourself an ebike!!!

20:09 - you know "graffiti" ticks me off. I treat it in the same vein as those who litter or vandalize. People stink sometimes.
They are very protective about graffiti on that lighthouse, as they should be. There are security cameras, and they seek out and prosecute people who vandalize it.
All state parks in Pennsylvania have free admission.
:)
🏃🚶🏃🚶🏃🚶🏃🚶😳
Thought this was a Grand Canyon video. 😕
We have been there we haven't been there for a quite a while but we loved it
